ralph fiennes?

Mercy · 19/09/2006 20:07

Well it has been said that Martin Jarvis could read the Yellow Pages and still sound good!

Agree Joanna Lumley, also Andrew Motion has a nice voice. Ditto Juliet Stevenson and Zoe Wananmaker.

Don't know about sexy, but I've enjoyed audiobooks read by the following people:

Stephen Fry
Hugh Laurie
Tony Robinson
Tim Curry
Tim Piggot-Smith
Anthony Hopkins

HTH!

What is the name of htat man who does the news on R4?

tribpot · 19/09/2006 20:12

Patrick Stewart. Waiting for him to record a voice for TomTom so that I can swoon at his directions "at the end of the road, turn left".

mumfor1standfinaltime · 19/09/2006 20:12

John Hurt gets my vote every time.

Saturn74 · 19/09/2006 20:15

Oh blimey - we listen to heaps of them! Think Hugh Laurie was reading his own novel 'The Gun Seller', prob same with Stephen Fry - the one with tennis balls in the title (my memory is dreadful, sorry!). Tim Piggot-Smith read a thriller - will ask DH for titles when he gets in.

YeahBut · 19/09/2006 20:15

God, Tribot, what a fab idea!!!! Set up a service where you can choose the voice of your SatNav. This time next year, you'll be a millionaire! (David Tennant for me, please )

Anton Lesser is voice-over king IMO.
Think he has read some stuff for Naxos. He has a beautiful, light tenor voice.

chipmonkey · 19/09/2006 20:20

Liam Neeson.

I hate Juliet Stevenson. (I know you're not asking who we hate, but thought I'd let you know anyway...)

Saturn74 · 19/09/2006 20:22

Yes we download them, Pruni.

We use audible.
