Miriam Margolies (sp?) has a fantabulous voice - she is the voice of the Caramel bunny I think

southeastastra · 19/09/2006 20:29

stuart maconie though he isn't an actor

Pruni, we love it too, but agree that the website could be a bit more dynamic!

The rest of the family are dyslexic, so audiobooks are perfect for us!

They are also fantastic as we do a lot of driving.

Jeremy Irons in Brideshead Revisited.

FrannyandZooey · 19/09/2006 20:37

Good lord Miriam Margolyes was also all the female characters in Monkey , apparently

I just posted a post (!) but it didn't work. Am having a few probs with MN tonight.

Anyway what I said was authors and poets reading their own works are the best imo. The South Bank Centre (can't remember which bit) used to provide recordings but I've no idea if this is still the case.

As for Juliet Stevenson, she's great on a Book at Bedtime - sends me straight to sleep which is why I like her! Also Mark Tully has a good voice.

I've always liked Penelope Wilton after seeing her on stage. Think she has a much better voice than Juliet Stevenson.

mummycan · 19/09/2006 20:46

Charles Dance could get me into bed by talking to me in the dark - no good if the lights go on as I think he is Ug but that voice - mmmmmmmmmmmm

crazydazy · 19/09/2006 20:48

Colin Firth....but he also has gorgeous eyes and face and body and erm...everything is gorgeous about him.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2006 20:50

Ooh Charles Dance is hideous.

And he once appeared in a silly TV programme about cloning a half-human half-chimpanzee baby.

After that, I couldn't take him seriously.

Oh dear did he actually bonk her?

Romantic liaison with a gorilla? Blimey, it's even worse than I remember.

(I'm Caligula btw. Keep meaning to change it back but can't be arsed. Quite like being fluffy)
