Book swap

I am thinking that we should do a book swap. You send a book to someone who sends a book to someone and so on. It doesn't matter if you didn't like the book, the next one might please you.

Any takers???????????????????????

I am a fan of Harlan Coben, Denise Ryan and Marian Keyes, Stuart Macbride.

Have read mine too, will do review tomorrow. Again, noT one I'd have chosen but thoroughly enjoyed it, read it in 24 hours (thanks KickAssAngel :) )Ready for MORE, MORE, MORE books now Grin

bumbleweed · 02/06/2006 20:02

FandZ, are you ready for the next book?

PanicPants · 02/06/2006 20:11

Yes PeachyClair I'm looking forward to it!

Bresha I'm sending on to you I think so I'll wait until you've finished yours.

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2006 20:22

Bumbleweed, I'm ready, but is it a good idea to just send as we finish, or should we wait each time and all send en masse? I could sort of see myself getting frustrated, if we are getting ahead of the group, and then have to wait weeks and weeks because the books are not coming round the chain fast enough. :)

Sorry I am a bit of a pernickety planner Blush and often see problems where there are none. Let me know what you think.

PanicPants · 02/06/2006 20:25

perhaps we should agree a date and post them all then, even if they aren't all read????!!

What do you think?

WigWamBam · 02/06/2006 20:27

I would prefer to have a set date, otherwise we're going to find at some point we've either got six books to read together, or we've got nothing to read for three months!

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2006 20:27

yes that would appeal to my fascist nature

:o

Seriously I think it is by far the best idea. Otherwise it is easy to get bogged down and the chain gets held up. Post every 3 weeks whether read or not, no pressure to read a book if you have not got time.

FrannyandZooey · 02/06/2006 20:29

Just realised I did not post a link to my review yet:

Great choice, Bumbleweed, the rest of you have a treat in store :)

dewmeadow · 02/06/2006 20:30

when is 3 weeks up?

PanicPants · 02/06/2006 23:40

Next week I think. Shall we set a date?

How about we agree to send the books anytime during the week beginning 5th June? Thats next week.

That way it's a definite date but does give some leeway for rl to intervene!

What do you think? Is next week too early for some people?

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2006 08:56

I think there might be some people who have only recently got their books. I guess that gives them a couple of weeks, though, it should be ok, hopefully?

UCM · 03/06/2006 11:10

What about next Thursday? Then 3 Thursdays after that.

My book was fabby Dewmeadow. I am looking forward to my next one.

kickassangel · 04/06/2006 21:39

i've only had my book 6 days! i'm about half way through, but doubt if rl will let me finish & post it by friday - could probably post it next week.

bresha · 05/06/2006 09:36

so we posting on thursday then? iv almost finished my book so that will be fine for me, is that ok for everyone elce?

kipper22 · 06/06/2006 14:24

Well I'm ready to pass on whenever but am feeling a little sorry for those who only received books recently. Couldn't we make do with other, short books for one more week then definitely all swap on the 15th? Then stick to the 3 week rule thereafter?

Sorry UCM, I didn't tape the pages in. I looked at the book, pages and sellotape for a long time then decided I would only make things worse! Maybe one of the more careful book swappers will be able to do better?!

Anyway, here's my link - \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=48228&topicid=1377&threadid=180229&redir=48228\bad moon rising} :)

PanicPants · 06/06/2006 17:36

I'll post on my book by the end of the week, maybe we should say post when your ready but no later than the 15th?

How about deciding on a particular day a month to post books on? (or will 4 weeks be too long for faster readers?)

i.e., How about after this posting we all try and post our books on the last day of the month? That way we won't need to keep remembering different dates.

By the way - I've just got the sequal to Portable Door by Tom Holt out of the library today PeachyClair!
