I think book club etiquette calls for individual threads. It didn't really work last time round - no one really bothered to write on/follow all the threads.

However... This is a clun so normal rules don't apply. I vote we all stay here and chat, spoilers amd all.

kiwijesta · 26/08/2011 05:44

asec I've finished mine too, although it was the sort I'd choose, which for my first book in a couple of months it was exactly what I needed! Thanks to rufus for the great choice!

I was so pleased the baby slept for nearly two hours yesterday morning, perfect reading time snuggled up in bed as the rain hammered down!

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 26/08/2011 08:45

Only Just started your book tbh, acsec. Had a pile of library books to get through first! Not read much at all, but I'm intrigued already!.

Swampster, my last book club didn't have individual threads and that didn't work either so I think it might be down to the people in the club rather than the etiquette! Grin I'm happy either way.

dinkystinky · 26/08/2011 09:03

As Fat Pat, the Fat Controller of the Clun, I vote for chatting on here about books too. Try not to mention the book title - so just say "Piebalds book" (which btw I've finished and about to re-read again Grin) - I thought xyz - to keep some element of suspense about the clun though...

musttidyupmusttidyup · 26/08/2011 09:32

Jesus I'm looking forward to piebald's book if it's good enough to read twice!

dinkystinky · 26/08/2011 09:57

I often re-read books musttidyup as I race through them first time then savour them second time round...

jklikesrowing · 26/08/2011 21:14

Glad you enjoyed it Dinky, when i read it first i too reread it straight away. I picked it up in a charity shop and was astonished that it was about 25years old and i had never heard of it, i wondered if it might have been an American school book, she has written a lot more but i havent tried any, still slightly put off by the sci fi label

piebald · 27/08/2011 23:30

Just finished electricsoftparades book. I have had a bit of a dry spell reading wise recenly so was glad to quickly get caught up in the story. It made you think a lot about what it s like to lose someone, reminded me a bit of The lovely Bones with an out of body character voice and kept me guessing

dinkystinky · 28/08/2011 13:58

Jk - don't have swam us address but Rufus (coco in disguise) may have it. Glad you're doing ok now and hope you enjoy your book.

Haribojoe · 02/09/2011 20:29

Finished Tillys book today. Not one I would have chosen myself but enjoyed it. Literally gasped out loud in shock at one point when something totally unexpected happened. Glad I've read it, looking forward to the next surprise Smile

tillyfernackerpants · 03/09/2011 10:09

Haribo, gald you enjoyed it. It was one we had for my RL book club, not something I would've picked either.

I took dinky's book on holiday with me, and finished it in about 2 days. I could not put it down!

acsec · 04/09/2011 00:10

I'm excited about the next book I'll be getting. when do we send them on again?

dinkystinky · 05/09/2011 13:41

Glad you enjoyed it Tilly - I was the same when I got it!

So, reminder - book clun meets on 26 September to discuss our books that we've read. We all send our books on to the next person on the list week of 19 to 25 September so they have them for the following month.

swampster · 05/09/2011 20:42
