I'm so desperate to lose weight . I 'only' want to lose 2 stone , heck 1 would do but despite my best efforts it won't budge .. I joined ww last week and I'm feeling really hopeful . I'm actually a good member from 12 years ago after my dd but it's changed a lot since then . I love the app and am sticking to it .. please give me some hope . 🙏🏻🙏🏻

... and if all else fails do some walking to get some fitpoints in.

Pollydonia · 31/05/2017 21:02

Can I join in please? I started online yesterday, got about 2st 10 lb to loose. I've lost 31/2 stone on a vlcd before ( Cambridge) but put it all back on. Tried SW but it's too freeform for me, I do much better with a bit of structure Smile

imjessie · 31/05/2017 21:05

I went to my first meeting today - I'm 12 stone 6.5 lb, which is a pound heavier than my scales at home (I stand on those with nothing on!) I've been sticking to my 52 points (I'm bf) haven't gone anywhere near over my weeklies. Bf is going well, no reduction in milk supply.

It was nice seeing how it all works as I've never done WW before - I had baby DD with me and a few of the members said they'd started it after they'd had children and had great success, so fingers crossed I'll have lost a pound for next week!

imjessie · 03/06/2017 17:01

How is everyone else doing?

Just weighed in with another 2lbs off. Very pleased! I know it's totally sad but I'm very motivated by how happy the cartoon fruit are for me in the app! Grin I don't feel at all deprived or like I'm dieting. I've said it before, but it feels like I'm cheating Blush I can't figure out how it works! I've calorie counted for myself before but felt far more restricted doing that.

imjessie · 04/06/2017 12:56

I feel
The same ! I feel so much thinner and I think for some reason it's coming off my tummy first which it doesn't usually ! I haven't had an official weigh in as I was away for last weeks but my scales are going down ! I've actually re found my love of food again which I totally lose as I saw it as the enemy !i feel so
Excited that this could be finally it after faffing about with slimming world and my fitness pal etc for bloomin years !( ds is 6 very soon!!) 😱😱

I tried SW twice hated it on both occasions, the first time I tried SW one the leaders was very rude to me saying my two children were noisy and members were complaining about them but they were only babies at the time, second occasion I was there I struggled to lose weight and one of the weighers was very rude by humiliating me in front of everybody by saying that I have put on lots of weight but at that time I was suffering with depression and lack of self confidence, so I walked out and went back to WW where they offer you support if you feel you have hit a brick wall, I will never use SW again due to the attitude of those who weigh you.

StayGoldPonyBoy · 05/06/2017 08:59

Squab I'm so sorry you had awful experiences Shock I gave up on SW when my lovely group leader left and was replaced by a rude one. Her first week she took over she didn't even have the packs for new members but took their money and told them they can find the basic plan online and she'd give them books next week Hmm She fit right in with the clique who'd been coming for years (and weren't anywhere near target which wasn't reassuring of the plan) and seemed to rush the rest of us so she could cackle in the corner with that lot.

SW online is rubbish, their app is so dated and hard to use, so I'm much happier and more successful doing Weight Watchers from home and I use the connect feature as accountability!

How is everyone doing ? I'm hoping weigh in on Thursday brings me a good loss .. 100% on plan And gym most days 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Fingers crossed for you Jessie!

I accidentally did a 6 mile walk on Sunday. I have had a couple of child free days with DH and we decided to walk the canal to the supermarket in the next village instead of going ten minutes to our local so that got me some extra fit points inGrin we did go via the pub but everything was counted WinkI'm doing the 30 Day Shred as well which certainly feels like it's working. God it burns Blush

Does anyone have any low point breakfast and lunch ideas? I'm fine with my main meals but I'm finding breakfast and lunch a bit repetitive. I'm having porridge or boiled eggs and then a subway salad bowl or homemade soup. I would have leftovers from the day before but my evening meals that keep well eg stews and curries are highest in points so I couldn't 'afford' to have similar things twice in a day.

ThespianTendencies · 07/06/2017 11:35

i have lost 4lbs in total so far but keep bouncing back up and down one pound - I am sticking to the points mostly - I mean 99% - and at the gym 4 times per week and I walk an hour per day 5 days a week , fast paced, covering around 5k. I should be losing better than this!!I cannotn get below 9stone 1 and my usual weight is around 8.8 - 8.10. I know that I don't have lots to lose (around half a stone ideally) but because I am quite small the extra weight really shows on me! Do you think I have plateaued because of menopausal changes to my body? Or should I plug away at it?

imjessie · 07/06/2017 12:43

Thanks .. I have a wrap for lunch . 4 sp and whatever you put in it .. add ice burg lettuce to fill it up ! Crisps for 3 extra if you can 'afford'

OP posts:
sez49 · 07/06/2017 19:11

Thespian, keep with it. Have you measured yourself? You may be losing inches hut the weight isn't showing on the scales? Are you eating all your daily and weekly points? Drinking enough water? Not eating too much fruit? How many fitpoints are you accruing in a week with your exercise? It may be you need to eat some fitpoints??? Having said that. I am finding periods where my weight isn't shifting much and then it eventually starts moving again. Very frustrating, but I definitely think my gains and my mini plateaus are down to hormonal changes, being peri-menopausal.

imjessie · 08/06/2017 20:15

Gah .. only lost 1/2 pound despite being 100% on plan .. ah well maybe next week 🙏🏻🙏🏻

StayGoldPonyBoy · 12/06/2017 17:23

Well done Jessie, I gained two!! Absolutely gutted because I'm not quite sure why. I'm hoping it's water weight or something random and drops back off and then some next week. I did go for drinks and a meal Saturday night and went over my points but was within my weeklies as I'd saved them so a bit miffed.

Oh well! I'm not going to do my usual trick of going 'Well fuck it then' and eating everything and everyone who gets in the way of my fork Grin so that's good!

sez49 · 12/06/2017 21:36

StayGold - it is extremely frustrating when you get those weeks. In the past that has been enough to send me off plan, but this time I am sticking with it. I have gained 3 out of the last 4 weeks despite being on plan, but I know it will start moving again eventually, so will keep with it, despite the frustrations! I hope you get the result you deserve next week.

kimfor3 · 13/06/2017 10:43

Hi I joined ww online last night, having lost 4 stone last sept with slimming world I'm struggling to get back into sw so thought I would try ww.
I have done ww about 14 years ago so it's changed quite about.
My question is I'm making some homemade soup contains carrots onions turnip swede and celery all which are free in the app. This is a froze number casserole pack from farmfoods as I'm lazy as chopping but it's basically saying to add all the 800g ingredients it's totalling up to 8sp?? I thought it was all free. HELP

sez49 · 13/06/2017 13:47

It is free, unless the ingredients show that there is something else added that should be pointed? Are you scanning? The scanner can give points as calculated on the nutritional values. But as long as the only ingredients are the zero point veggies then it is zero.

CarrotFingers · 14/06/2017 14:21

Hello everyone! How are you all getting on? I've been sticking to the plan, horrified myself yesterday when I realised how many points there are in a French stick I had with some soup. But I've discovered a few things that were lower than I thought (smoked salmon and cream cheese on one of those 'thins' bread things was lovely and not too high in points) and some of the WW yoghurts are really lovely and only 2sp.

PippaRose · 20/06/2017 20:21

Hi all how are you doing? I joined ww today (post baby diet) after having success when losing weight for our wedding so thought I would join the thread. Liking the app so far

twinmummy25 · 22/06/2017 21:25

Hi PippaRose, hope you're finding it all ok, the app is fab isn't it. How long does it take you when shopping now that you can scan everything ;-) x

PippaRose · 23/06/2017 08:37

Haha yes it does take some time but so good to have that, makes it so much easier.

All ok so far, have extra points as am breastfeeding so should make going out tonight ok. Can't seem to find as many recipes as I used to and I can't find the forums they used to have (maybe it's connect now?) which were good for ideas.

How are you getting on?
