I'm so desperate to lose weight . I 'only' want to lose 2 stone , heck 1 would do but despite my best efforts it won't budge .. I joined ww last week and I'm feeling really hopeful . I'm actually a good member from 12 years ago after my dd but it's changed a lot since then . I love the app and am sticking to it .. please give me some hope . 🙏🏻🙏🏻

So weighed in this morning with 3lbs off! Well chuffed with that Grin

Fantastic Pony ! Well done :)

imjessie · 28/05/2017 22:20

Well done pony , how is everyone else getting on? I had too much to drink last night but stayed within my points for food and used my weeklies for the alcohol so that should be ok. Historically it's drinking that affects my weight lose so I'm really hoping this will be different .

Weight day for me today (I do WW online only and weigh myself on on the wii fit) and I've lost 4lbs! Well pleased with that, especially as I am still quite bloated due to coming off the pill a little while ago which has been playing havoc mith my hormones ever since.
jessie alcohol is my downfall too and I have used a good proportion of my weeklies for it during the past week/weekend.

imjessie · 29/05/2017 12:00

I only drink every few weeks on a Friday or a Saturday but I literally have all my weeklies and some of my dailies for it as we had steak and salad for dinner so not much used on food .. 😬

Hello waves shyly Can I join? I've got 2.5 stone to lose. I'm exclusively breastfeeding DD so I've been given an extra 12 points - I started on Wednesday and have been cutting down on the amount of chocolate digestives/Mars Bars I eat whilst I'm sat feeding her!

I had huge cravings for chocolate in my pregnancy which don't seem to have completely gone. I'm being sensible, I don't want to rush anything or compromise my milk supply but I was eating far too much sugary junk, and the points system has made me realise exactly how much!

mrspitt · 29/05/2017 13:02

7lb off in the first week, 2lb off this week!! Seeing a difference already. I'm finding it pretty easy to stick to and I've still had some wine...my downfall usually! I have worked my arse off in the gym however 😁
Fit points confused me slightly as I linked Apple Health up this week and seem to get a heck of a lot of points for my steps but less for my running 🤔 Don't think I'll include them as points for eating though as it's just me going about my daily business if that makes sense!

StayGoldPonyBoy · 29/05/2017 13:53

Welcome Carrot! Sugar is my vice, too. I'm loving WW because I can have little bits of what I want so it stops me binging on '50% Extra Free' family packs of chocolate fingers in the bath when DH is away BlushBlush

And we'll done MrsP that's amazing! Agree with you on the fitpoints. I got as many for 20 minutes of Pilates as I did logging the 30 Day Shred! I'm still trying to reach my targets for me but I've turned off the ability to use them for extra food. That was my downfall with My Fitness Pal, wanting to eat back my exercise calories which defeats the point!Grin

Welcome carrot !!

I joined last week , have three stone to lose. I had my first weigh in this morning and lost... 9.5lbs!! Still can't believe it.
I stuck to the plan and was about 2/4 points below my allowance each day but truly did not feel I needed more food or would have used them. I did not use my weekly points allowance either.
Next week will of course be less easy and a much smaller loss. I am going away for a few days and it will be much harder to stay on plan, will also use my weekly allowance. So hopefully this week will help next week.
I lost a huge amount of weight about 6 years ago with SW but put three stone back on over the last two years. I tried to go back to SW but it just wasn't working for me any more and I hated the classes!

I am determined and hoping to be at goal within 6 months.
Good Luck everyone!

One thing that has baffled me (perhaps as I am new to WW I may have missed something obvious) is fruit...I see that fruit has no points, but DH brought back a banana and strawberry smoothie back from the shops, and that does have points according to the app. It's just blended fruit, so how does blending it up increase the points from 0-4 (I think it was)?

imjessie · 29/05/2017 18:49

It's something to do with how the body processes it and also it's probably quite a few bananas and strawberries whereas you probably wouldn't eat 3 bananas and 20 strawberries in one sitting . I had one of their bars the other day which is 3 and then I decided to have another one but it made it 7 instead of 6 , I think to deter you from eating badly .

OP posts:
CarrotFingers · 29/05/2017 18:52

Oh ok that makes sense...I hadn't thought of the quantity of fruit that would go into a smoothie. I generally eat around 4-5 pieces of fruit a day but I really should eat more veggies!

sez49 · 29/05/2017 21:19

Imjessie is right. WW website does say that if you sat and ate all the fruit that went into one smoothie it would take a while to eat it and it would fill you up, but drinking a smoothie means the same amount of fruit has been consumed very quickly and doesn't keep you feeling as full for as long. Blended fruit it ok, if it is eaten, like in a sorbet for example. But if it is in a drink, it needs to be pointed.

imjessie there are quite a few things that if you have more than one the points cost you an extra one. It does also sometimes work the other way, that if you have two of something it costs one less than the 2x points would be. It is to do with the rounding of the numbers. If the points were decimals, then it may be that those bars could be 3.3 or 3.4 points each, so it is rounded down to 3. If you have two though, the total would be 6.6 or 6.8 and would therefore be rounded up. It is definitely worth checking the points when having multiple items of something. I always feel like I have wasted a point when it works out costing me that extra point when I want expecting it! 😄

Well done on the losses!

newpup · 30/05/2017 07:57

Good morning. Just logged on to the app this am after my first weigh in yesterday and my weekly allowance has gone down by 7 points! I didn't use it last week so would this be why or dies it automatically adjust as you lose weight? Anybody know? Smile

imjessie · 30/05/2017 08:05

Mine did this ! I used the chat thing on the app and discussed many reasons why . It went down the first week when I didn't use them by about 7 points and they next week it went down to 14 but we worked out it was because I had pre logged a night out !

OP posts:
newpup · 30/05/2017 08:25

Thanks Jessie. I have not prelogged anything. Very strange!

imjessie · 30/05/2017 08:29

How much do you weigh ans how much have you lost? I lose 3 pounds in the first week and weighed 11.7 . I didn't use one of my points as I was saving them for nights out another week and nine went down . I wasn't told this would happen so I was a bit worried when they went down again the next week . Once I worked out that was me they went back to the 28 which was what I was allocated after my initial weight loss . I've used them this week so I hope they will stay now.

OP posts:
newpup · 30/05/2017 08:32

Just used the chat app to ask. Thanks for that! Apparently they will automatically adjust with weight loss. :-)

newpup · 30/05/2017 08:34

I lost 9.5lbs this week, first weigh in so I guess that is why I dropped my weekly total by 7 points. Nothing to do with not using it last week but as I am going away this week it would have been handy! I intended to use it this week! Never mind.

imjessie · 30/05/2017 15:33

Wow!! 9.5 lbs!! Well done !!!

OP posts:
sez49 · 30/05/2017 17:16

Fantastic loss! Yes, the weeklies will drop by 7 as weight is lost, once you are in the minimum daily points. At the moment, my daily points are dropping regularly as I lose weight. I started on 57 and am now on 37. Once I get to 30 points a day then I will start to see my weeklies reduce.

newpup · 30/05/2017 19:00

See how it works now. It was a Hard day today I was really hungry this afternoon and swiped a spoonful of my daughters macaroni cheese ! Luckily stopped at the one! Poured myself a Diet Coke quickly, that filled me up.
Trouble is my DH does not get home until late so I am hungry by early evening and have to wait until 8.30/9 pm to eat!
I could eat before and sometimes I will but like to catch up on our days when we eat together.

sez49 · 30/05/2017 20:43

newpup - I would struggle with hunger eating that late! How about a zero or low point homemade veg soup to have early eve to help keep you going until your main meal later? If eating late together is what you do, try to find a solution that helps you, but that also works with you still eating late together. Well done on stopping at one spoonful. It is so easy to eat more without even realising it. Recognising these habits and changing them are a step in the right direction.

newpup · 31/05/2017 09:30

Thanks Sez. The soup is a good idea! Will definitely try that. This weekend will be a challenge as we are going away for the weekend but I will just do my best and use my points wisely!
