First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

Miffytastic half a pound off is still in the right direction. stick with it and hopefully this week will be better. As you say the non slimline drinks and too many nuts may not have helped. Did you weigh the nuts out? I have been having a few but weighing them and taking them out of my weeklies.

Fruit as you say can be a good snack. Sugar free jelly? Zero/low point vegetable soups?

Really depends on whether you want sweet or savoury snacks. I sometimes make 'pancakes'. Maybe not as good as the real thing but a banana mashed up, mix in an egg and the using a few sprays of frylight, cook in the frying pan. I usually pour it into about three separate pancakes when adding to the pan and I also tend to add cinnamon when mixing. I know some people who make a 'sugar free jam', using frozen fruit and sugar free jelly. I love peanut butter but have switched to Peanut Butter Powder (PBP) to give me a bit of a peanut butter fix. Not as good as the real thing but for me it is good enough.

Many years ago, I omitted chocolate from my diet for 6 months, I then had a craving for some and then binged on it for two weeks gaining 11lbs pounds. I definitely now try to have a little of what I like rather than excluding it completely, or find a better alternative.

-3.5lbs off in week 2. Have a tricky couple of weeks coming up as it's my 40th and I have about 6 months of celebrations planned. Off to stay at a friends house this weekend and will be eating out. Am just going do my best....

Miffytastic · 17/01/2017 10:16

Sez No I've just put the nuts in a little pretty jar and have been grabbing about 5 at least twice a day, but probably only pointing for 2 brazil nuts. I just pointed up all the fevertree tonic I had! Blush Thanks for the snack ideas, I've not found sugar free jelly that's veggie but had forgotten about peanut butter powder- I meant to try it last time I was dieting.

sez49 · 17/01/2017 12:48

Miffytastic I have been looking for veggie sugar free jelly too! Asda's own brand used to be but, last time I looked, I couldn't find any. WW was as well, but they seemed to stop doing it. Think I saw some on Amazon previously so I will have another look.

Maybe allocate a nut allowance each day that is pre-pointed and then you can just pick at those as and when? I like crisps, although have cut back in the last few weeks. Hula Hoops Puft for 2sp have been my recent choice.

I have tried a few no count days this week too.

Safleck86 · 18/01/2017 21:19

Hi yes I need support and help just joined ww . Mother of two and work nights so need suggestions food wise. Let's do this!!

Emochild · 18/01/2017 23:24

Just realised that on the app my weekly points refresh on a Monday rather than my weigh in day which is Thursday -was wondering why I seemed to have a bottomless pit of weeklies

Does anyone know if I can change it?

sez49 · 19/01/2017 05:38

Emochild if you go into settings, you should be able to change your weigh in day under weight settings.

Emochild · 19/01/2017 23:54

Found it

Thank you 😁

Lost 5lb this week (week 3) I know technically it's too much but I don't actually care this early on

Miffytastic · 20/01/2017 20:56

Feeling full of cold and worldly woe and have comfort eaten a mango... is that possible?!
Activity points were going so well this week until the lurgy hit :-(

Devilishpyjamas · 22/01/2017 17:40

I'm going to start. Can't decide between meetings&online or online only.

sez49 · 22/01/2017 19:31

Devilishpyjamas it depends on what you are looking for. Personally I prefer the meetings and I stay every week after weigh in. I find the meeting I attend is supportive and full of good ideas, so it motivates me and helps keep me a bit more focused. I have also made some friends at the meetings.. If I was just doing online, I would be more likely to get frustrated or disheartened when the scales don't show a positive result. I also find when I stop staying for the meeting after weigh in, that is usually when I am starting to go off track.

Devilishpyjamas · 22/01/2017 22:06

I'd quite like to do the meetings but dh wants to do it as well and a) won't do meetings (TBH timewise would be tricky) and b) if I do meetings & online then he does online it is ££££'s.

Fatbird71 · 22/01/2017 22:28

Can I join in. Just signed up online. Starting stats 20. 6 stone Blush. Never been this heavy. Twice previously lost 6 stone on WE but this time I have arthritis so will find it hard to get The exercise done

Fatbird71 · 22/01/2017 22:28

WW not WE

KenDoddsDadsDog · 22/01/2017 22:31

Hi there! I lost 2 stone last year , started running and felt great . Few pounds on over Christmas and I'm back at class to lose the last 10lbs or so.

poorpaws · 22/01/2017 22:59

Hi Ken

I am not going to admit how much I GAINED this week, I didn't think it was possible! I am starting afresh tomorrow and this time I mean it.

KinkyAfro · 23/01/2017 13:07

Can I join? I was supposed to go back to meetings in December but didn't start back until last week. Since the beginning of November (last time I went) I've gained a massive 16 lbs, I'm disgusted with myself and given myself a massive kick up the arse

KenDoddsDadsDog · 23/01/2017 16:09

Hiya paws , here we are again.
I'm really hungry , think I'll have to try no count Confused

GiGiraffe · 23/01/2017 21:35

Lost 1.8lbs this week, in fairness went over my weeklies by 11 points, so still a result - -8lbs in total

Away for my 40th this weekend, the wheels are going to come off and I don't care 🤷‍♀️

Miffytastic · 23/01/2017 22:53

Hello Ken and Kinky - more names I remember!

I lost 2.5lbs this week Smile

Dont know if this appeals to anyone, but I made a forgotten favourite for tea today: butternut squash roasted/baked in veg stock with spices in it. Then mix in chick peas at the end. It's a low fat version of this recipe www.ottolenghi.co.uk/squash-with-cardamom-and-nigella-seeds-shop - I just fry the onions in fry light.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 24/01/2017 21:19

I'm starting to learn my filling meals again thankfully.

Well done on your loss miffy, got my WI tonight, am hoping for good things as I've been 100% on plan

sez49 · 27/01/2017 19:12

Devilishpyjamas does your hubby want to be online as well? Mine just wanted to lose weight so has just mostly eaten the same as me. I did check with my leader at one point as to what his daily and weekly points should be, to make sure he was eating enough. She was happy enough to check for me, and I have since checked what his daily points should be on my WW calculator a couple of more times. My hubby just records his weight once a week, on the same day as my weigh in day. He is only a few pounds now from where he wants to be.

KinkyAfro · 27/01/2017 19:55

4.5 lbs off for me this week. Full week of NC + all weeklies, happy with that
