First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

Got my half stone in half term ! It's how I worked last year . Want another half off then I'll be happy .

poorpaws · 19/02/2017 23:05

Well done Ken, good to hear and motivating

Miffytastic · 20/02/2017 08:22

I've stayed on track just about - as in I have eaten all my weeklies but I know that because I've tracked it (compared to chucking the towel in). Weigh in tonight...
well done Ken! that's great.

Miffytastic · 20/02/2017 08:26

Paws sorry missed your losses too. - ACE! I'll update tonight but so far I've officially - on the Ww scales* - lost 1lb since January 9th Confused

(*I lost 4lbs more in first 9 days of January but weighed at home)

MsJuniper · 20/02/2017 09:08

I lost 0.5lbs last week but this week has been shit, we've all been ill and I've taken my eye off the ball so am expecting a gain tomorrow. It's not good enough.

Does it annoy anyone else that when you are dieting, if you go slightly off plan but are still eating loads less than you would have before, you seem to gain. I guess our bodies adjust to the lower intake quite quickly.

Miffytastic · 21/02/2017 12:10

2.5 off, but given that I was up the last couple of weeks, my overall deficit since starting back at WW in January is only 3.5lbs

Juniper YES - I agree, my body seems to adjust on the downward trajectory, but then if I go back to eating 'normally' I pile it back on so easily. I know this time around I need to work out a new 'normal' WOE that can stop the yo yoing.

sez49 · 21/02/2017 12:49

Well done on the losses!

Yes it is annoying when you go slightly off plan and gain. It is even more annoying when you stay on plan and gain! Some people seem to be able to go off plan and get away with it, which is frustrating for those of us who can't seem to get away with anything much at all!

I am definitely trying to approach this time with the view that what I do needs to be manageable in the long term. I need to change my eating habits permanently to lose the rest of the weight and to then keep it all off.

MsJuniper · 21/02/2017 22:17

Ah now I feel bad as I did just get away with it (stayed the same) but I did count all the points and I was only +4 over the week's allowance so not as bad as I'd thought.

I have been really struck by how quickly the little extras add up though. If I feel like I'm having a good day I'll have a little ww bar or bag of popcorn and suddenly the total whooshes up. Counting the points first is the way forward I think...

Gordsgirl · 22/02/2017 07:11

New to this site , started last Wednesday and off for first weight in this morning, will update later ,,, Fingers crossed

sez49 · 22/02/2017 08:00

Well done on staying the same MsJuniper after a difficult week and glad it wasn't as bad as possibly expected.

I gained 1.5lbs! :( So frustrating as I am on still track, weighing, measuring, pointing, tracking and I earned extra fit points this last week too. I know it is extremely likely to do my monthly cycle and my body not playing ball on weigh in day. I am keeping focused and looking at the bigger picture of where I was back in July and where I am now and how much better I feel now. Wearing size 20 jeans and XL tops instead of size 30 jeans and 5XL tops.

Hope you get on OK Gordsgirl.

MsJuniper · 22/02/2017 09:38

Wow sez that is a great accomplishment! Some years ago I did Lighter Life and despite eating exactly the same thing every day (never once went off plan), weight loss still fluctuated. So your body will sometimes hold on to the weight for various reasons unrelated to your actions. It will catch up again and your achievements speak for themselves.

Gordsgirl · 22/02/2017 10:56

Well 1st week and 4 1/2 lb off 🤗 Having a no count day today , breakfast was shreddies and warm milk and a coffee with coffee whitener 2sp lunch will be leek and potatoe soup , think potatoes are on the no count list ? Then chicken casserole in my slow cooker , chicken fillets 🥕 carrots onions baby potatoes mushrooms , I,ll use one of those stock pot thingys and need to check points in that , bottled pears and yogurt for pud .

sez49 · 22/02/2017 11:09

Thanks MsJuniper. Yes I need to look at my result over a four week period, rather than what the scales say on one particular day. It is probably over 20 years since I wore size 20 jeans, so I have come such a long way. Still lots to lose, but I am feeling determined this time. :) I hope you are feeling better now.

sez49 · 22/02/2017 11:16

Great loss Gordsgirl. Yes potatoes are on no count. I didn't think shreddies were though? Thought it was shredded wheat rather than shreddies? I might be wrong though.

Gordsgirl · 22/02/2017 12:17

Thanks for your reply sez49 it was actually bitesize shredded wheat I had and yes just checked and it's fine . 🍜

KenDoddsDadsDog · 26/02/2017 10:05

2lbs off this week . I'm now half a stone from goal.

Gordsgirl · 26/02/2017 10:35

That's brilliant Ken a good loss nearing your goal , I,v had a good week helped by a tooth abscess 😷, tooth out next week so hopefully same affect .

SilentBob · 27/02/2017 23:06

IcaMorgan · 03/03/2017 10:46

I keep losing this thread.

Got my 10% last week and another 1.5lbs off this week

KenDoddsDadsDog · 03/03/2017 18:54

Birthday week complete so I'll be very happy if I've stayed the same !

whereisthesunshine · 04/03/2017 13:35

Can I join? I have been going through a tought time which has severely affected my appetite. When it came back, I started to eat everything in sight for comfort and the result is that I was at my heaviest about 3 weeks ago. I joined online and am so far doing well. I like the restrictiveness of smart points, although others seem to struggle with it, as it keeps me from eating too much sweet stuff. I weigh in on a Friday:

17/02 95.5kg
24/02 94.3kg
03/03 91.9kg

I am on 31 and 42 weeklies.

whereisthesunshine · 04/03/2017 13:36

31 daily and 42 weekly points that should say.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/03/2017 18:36

1lbs off this morning . Usual slow and steady.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/03/2017 18:40

Hello sunshine ! Welcome !
