So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

I gained 0.5 lb! Bollocks. Confused

SomewhereIBelong · 16/01/2015 11:37

ethelb - you made me laugh - I remember that oh bollocks feeling!!!!

Chinese - they always say get something vegetabley - chop suey/foo yung etc, they do nothing for me- I need something to fill me up to stop me eating other stuff...

so I find if I get a chicken chow mein - it has beansprouts, little bits of meat and enough carbs to fill me up (I ask the guys there not to fry the noodles if I remember)

OK I probably eat about 15 points worth (I weigh it and point as for noodles, 12 points for 250g then I add 3 for oil/chicken/just in case) but they are "worth it"....

Rainicorn · 16/01/2015 12:51

I was thinking of getting chow mien, but the pp online is very confusing as doesn't say how much a portion is. Should I class it as half a carton? I have all my weeklies and 28 pp left for the day, so not as if I'm going to blow my diet.

SomewhereIBelong · 16/01/2015 13:06

Don't know on portion size - I just weigh the it onto my plate - usually about 250g which I know is 12points if it is just noodles - so then add some points depending what other stuff is there....

ALittleFaith · 16/01/2015 16:45

Hello everyone, I'm joining in! I started in September. Weigh in yesterday has me at 17lb loss (slow and steady) but I'm really noticing a difference now. Body wise especially my stomach and chin.

Hopelass · 16/01/2015 19:00

Hello all,can I join? I lost two stone on ww last year between April (just after easter) and October. Nearly got down to goal weight but over Christmas put on 10lbs Sad
I started again last week and my first weigh in was this morning. I follow ww online and weigh in at home at the same time each week. I lost 4lbs this week so am very happy. Now 9st4lbs and would like to get down to 8st7lb by easter. I have signed up for the local Race for Life in July to keep me on track once I've reached goal. I joined the local gym in November and go walking in the local (enormous) park whenever I can so all I need is the motivation to keep going!! Hope to be able to swap tips and share highs and lows on this thread. Good luck everyone!

pinkstinks · 16/01/2015 19:44

Ah sorry all, I really dumped and ran yesterday not cool! You've all been so lovely though :)
I don't point, is that the problem? I started on filling and healthy and just carried on... I'm still obese in the BmI tracker (was 20:02stome when I started Blush)
All this talk of takeout is making me hungry!
Welcome aLittle and Hopelass good luck too!

If it is one day only it should not have such a great effect.

treat it like a 5:2 diet - yesterday was one of your 5 - make today one of your 2.... you shouldn't feel as hungry anyhow, so it gives you a head start... be positive!

pinkstinks · 17/01/2015 09:31

Yeah good advice from Somewhere, one if the biggest lessons for me as an emotional eater was to treat each day as a blank slate as I am so bad for shooting myself in the foot " oh I f*ed up yesterday so I'll go all put today" etc. treat it as a fresh start and also a lesson in how you feel after, you clearly want to make changes or you wouldst feel so down about it and that's good! Good luck with your week :)

Rainicorn · 17/01/2015 10:05

Do NOT buy Special K granola. It's like eating saw dust. I love granola but it's so full of pp :(

Summer, you can do it, you still have dailies to use every day until WI day, just make sure you eat a lot more fruit and veg to full the hunger gaps.

BackToTheFuschia · 17/01/2015 13:15

5lb off Grin yay!

Having Chinese takeaway tonight but am going to cook brown rice and some oven chips to bulk out a high point main. Trying to decide what to have though is proving a nightmare.

HedgehogsDontBite · 17/01/2015 13:16

Hi can I join your group? I've just signed up to ww online. I've joined a few times before but always end up back where I started. I've got to lose the extra weight this time because I've now developed serious physical issues that aren't going to go until I get my weight under control.

GatoradeMeBitch · 17/01/2015 14:21

Hi Hedgehogs Smile I'm in the same boat. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Summer - you might be surprised. Apparently a blowout day once in a while can shock your system into action, especially followed by a couple of leaner days. Good luck!

GingerLemonTea · 17/01/2015 15:03

I have went off the rails & can't seem / be bothered to pull it back. At the end of the month I have 2 parties, an interview & a girls day out. Still no motivation. Feeling like I'm never going to do this!

SomewhereIBelong · 17/01/2015 15:39

You can you know Ginger.... just one day at a time...

a party does not take all day...so effectively the 2 parties become 2 meals...

an interview - does it involve food? Will nervousness make you want to eat less anyhow?

& girls day out, blow out but concentrate on making the right choices.

Oh, and remember - it is not the end of the month yet...

GingerLemonTea · 17/01/2015 16:51

Thank you. I just meant you would think these events would give me short term motivation to look & feel better.

SomewhereIBelong · 17/01/2015 16:59

oops Blush wrong end of the stick... but hey - it is not the end of the month yet so there's plenty of time to get there...

do you go to meetings? 'cos if you do I always think -
"do I really want to pay money and be told I have put weight on?",

or "am I gonna do something about it and show I can follow some simple rules even if sometimes I really don't want to have to follow them and I know that I will weigh less next time?"

jobach · 17/01/2015 20:48

can I join? I do online ww and finding it hard to get motivated, only have 7lbs to lose but it's pretty hard to shift. Keep eating all the wrong stuff...snacking etc

Twinklestar2 · 17/01/2015 22:45

Can I join? I'm a gold member, got to goal in 2004 and have been on and off the diet ever since.

Had my baby boy 5 months ago; was over 14 stone the day he was born and now hovering in the high 10s. Would love to get to 9st 13. My goal weight was 9st 10.

I'm starting on Monday as I'm out for a curry tomorrow. Will WI Monday morning and report back. Smile

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 18/01/2015 12:29

SummerLight I am very impressed that you actually managed to point everything - I normally give up at times like that. AND you didn't go over - so you should be really pleased with yourself!
Ginger, I know how hard it is to do this when you don't have that inner motivation - I wish I had some good advice but I've not cracked that one myself!
Welcome, Hedgehogs, jobach and Twinkle!
Well after being away for work since Tuesday, I gave up pointing and at WI today, I have put on half what I lost the previous week. But that wasn't much. I REALLY need to give it a good go this week!

Rainicorn · 18/01/2015 16:15

Where does everyone's weight go from first? As always, it's my waist, which is so annoying as I'd rather it went off my arse and stomach.

Having a great week. I've got 27 weeklies left (after my huge chinese blowout) so might have a little treat later.

HedgehogsDontBite · 18/01/2015 17:15

I can't tell where it goes from as I think I have some sort of body dismorphia or something. Even when I know I've lost loads and people are commenting, I can't see it.

Does anyone have any idea of how many points are in Christmas cake? (Eyeing up the leftovers)

Rainicorn · 18/01/2015 18:00

Loads of points in Christmas cake. Use your weeklies on it if you must. I love Christmas cake Envy

I've just had steak pie for tea. Made cauliflower mash instead of potato mash which made all the difference point wise. I quite like cauliflower rice as well.

Hedgehog, I lost 4 stone a few years ago and I struggled with my body, it didn't feel or look like mine.i lost it quite quickly (Cambridge diet) so don't think that helped.

HedgehogsDontBite · 18/01/2015 18:08

I had beef curry and rice for tea, which was utterly delicious. I could quite easily eat it all over again. But I won't and I'm desperate to get rid of the SPD which is plaguing me.
