So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

Hey all!
Last week I managed to drop 1.5kgs (3bls approx), then I had a blowout weekend where I drank too much. Had a birthday party with champagne and cake (x3 oops!) followed by unpointed curried courgette, kefta (Turkish spicy meatball type things), bread and more champagne (dinner). Scales this morning indicate I've gained it all back again! sigh. I hate being a Yoyo loser! I want to be one of those consistent 1lb a week people!

Congrats on the losses to those that lost and welcome fudge

SomewhereIBelong · 24/02/2015 12:03

Chappie - I used to think the same way - Why don't I lose more when I eat so little compared to what I USED to eat -

the leader then said- "yes, but you weren't staying the same weight eating that were you - it was going up... so you have to eat less JUST TO STAY THE SAME WEIGHT YOU ARE NOW - and even less than THAT to actually lose weight..."

Congrats on the losses...

had my interview today, they seemed to "like" me for the job - so fingers crossed, mind you, I had a phone call 5 min before I got to that one asking me to attend another interview next week ..... (so that is 2 applications, 2 interviews!)

Amazing how a bit of weight loss boosts your confidence, I would not have applied for the jobs before starting WW again....

SomewhereIBelong · 24/02/2015 12:06

Just had some of those new Sunbites crispy crackers -Oven roasted onion and rosemary- really savoury kick for 3 points a pack (which is more substantial than a bag of crisps) Would be nice with a low cal salsa dip too..

Rainicorn · 24/02/2015 14:05

Well done on the interviews Somewhere.

Chappie, have you gone off plan lately or are you consistent? Maybe you need a blow out day?

Kiru, we all have weekends like that. Weekends are my worst time. Well done getting back on plan though.

Been swimming today, first time in 3 weeks. Went with DH who is generally quite fit but he struggled keeping up with me, which boosted my ego a bit. Trying not to gloat much

SomewhereIBelong · 24/02/2015 14:24

Oh please feel free to gloat - it uses calories you know! Grin

FixItUpChappie · 24/02/2015 17:42

the leader then said- "yes, but you weren't staying the same weight eating that were you - it was going up... so you have to eat less JUST TO STAY THE SAME WEIGHT YOU ARE NOW - and even less than THAT to actually lose weight..."

Very good point (unfortunately) Grin. Ah well, not giving up. Having my veg and chicken breast as we speak.

crossing fingers for you Somewhere

FixItUpChappie · 24/02/2015 17:47

I'm thinking of trying a Wendie plan to change it up. I'm going to have to do some more cooking too - I need variety. I lost 14lbs then just stopped cold - nothing has budged for a few weeks. I've been gaining and losing the same 2 pounds. Some success would be motivating.

Part of it is my husband is also on WW and he just loses and loses and loses - its incredible. He is better at eating salad than I am though. I do think I'm much more protein heavy than he is.

HedgehogsDontBite · 24/02/2015 19:45

I had my favourite dinner tonight, chicken curry and rice. Yummy.

500g chicken
4 tsp oil
onion
mushrooms
aubergine
1 jar of curry sauce
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp fenugeek
1/2 tsp coriander
2 dl uncooked rice
(4 servings at 10pp per serving)

HedgehogsDontBite · 24/02/2015 19:47

Oop forgot

1 tsp chilli powder (optional depending on how hot you like it)

Rainicorn · 25/02/2015 16:14

I've made slow cooked chicken curry for tea tonight. Only 7pp and that means I can have a naan bread as well.

SomewhereIBelong · 25/02/2015 16:22

Curry sounds great.... I love curry, but the rest of the family are not keen...

I went to meeting today - lost 2.5lb (2 weeks)... really pleased- but have eaten anything that is not bolted down today.... really hungry for some reason....

stress probably - got a call from the interviewer - have a trial day on Friday - paid for too!! and if it goes well they'd like me to start NEXT WEEK.... argghhhhh......

The other job can ermmmmm get stuffed - was for exam invigilator and the mail came today with a 200 page booklet to "study, since you will be asked questions on it at the interview" - errrrmmmmm no, I'd study it AFTER getting the job, not before....

All you popcorn fans I need your advice, I'm going to the cinema on Saturday.

What's the biggest bag of popcorn I can get for the lowest points. It's not something I've eaten while on WW.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 25/02/2015 18:04

Homemade salted is probably your lowest.Smile

Rainicorn · 25/02/2015 18:37

Which cinema Hevs? A small salted popcorn at the Empire cinema is 7 PP

Rainicorn · 25/02/2015 18:38

Well done on loss Somewhere and good luck with your trial. What's the job?

hevs10593 · 25/02/2015 19:14

It'll be vue or odeon but I thought it might've healthier to buy some low propoints and smuggle it in

Rainicorn · 25/02/2015 19:22

Just pointed Odeon popcorn.

Small salted 6
Medium salted 11
Large salted 21

There are 28 PP in nachos with two cheese sauces

hevs10593 · 25/02/2015 19:59

Oh :( it's higher than what I thought

Rainicorn · 25/02/2015 20:48

There is still plenty in a small though but I'd still eat the nachos and sod the pp

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 25/02/2015 20:51

You could make a lot of popcorn at home for 50g of popping corn and 7 points.

hevs10593 · 25/02/2015 20:53

Are they called kernels? Is that the 'popped' or 'unpopped' points. Think I'll do that, tbh rain when I had my blow out I had nachos so I've satisfied that craving .. For now

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 25/02/2015 21:18

According to my app, 50g of the unpopped kernals. I reckon that probably makes a sizeable pan full. Stick a few sprays of free point oil in the bottom, pop it all and add your salt.

hevs10593 · 25/02/2015 21:24

Thank for that I'll have to look into it!

SomewhereIBelong · 26/02/2015 07:27

Thanks Rain - it is retail work in a fabric shop - part time, but whole days, no split shift business, thankfully.... so should be easy enough to keep up the diet with packed lunches, and breakfast and dinner at normal times.

dotty2 · 27/02/2015 09:48

Can I say hello? I have just started WW online - did it once before and lost over a stone but fell off the wagon. I have flirted with lots of different diets/ways of eating over the last few years and had some success with all of them (WW, low carb, 5:2), but I always give up when I get bored or stressed. End result is that I have lost and put on again about 5 stone, I think in total, if you add up all the times I have lost a stone or seven pounds then put it on again. I work from home and there's too much temptation. I also got into a terrible habit when I was finishing a PhD last year of eating a biscuit every time I got to a tricky section and it's still embedded somewhere in my head that to complete a difficult or boring work task I need a biscuit - really need to knock that on the head.

Anyway, day 2 here and I am 5'8 and a bit and weighed in at 13st 8 yesterday which was grim and the heaviest I've been for 2-3 years, so full of determination. And Spring is a good time to start, yes?
