So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

Right I've completely lost the plot with it this week and I need to get back on it today. I was also debating trying some filling and healthy days. A question to those who do f&h days, what does your menu for the day look like? Also what do you put on your crumpets?

SomewhereIBelong · 22/02/2015 15:20

I am having a day off... and eating a meal for dinner that we used to eat - pulled pork (13), bubble and squeak(7), carrots, green beans - then syrup sponge(9) and custard(7) - but I pointed anyway - I will only be 20points over for today!!

(more than my DAY's points in one meal - I NOW see why I got so big so quickly..)

hevs.. My crumpets have flora proactive and marmite, or no spread and laughing cow extra light, or for a sweet fix - no butter/spread and a smear of jam/peanut butter/lemon curd - but literally a smear.

Rainicorn · 22/02/2015 18:19

I've had quite a good weekend. Did a huge Mexican buffet thing last night and pointed it all in, didn't even use my weeklies.

I have 10PP and 30 weeklies left, WI is tomorrow, so I think I will have cheese on toast mmmmmmm

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 22/02/2015 18:42

Well over a pound off this week for me - but once again I've slacked and not gotten around to tracking today. What is wrong with me?? Although I did manage to go for a c25k run, which felt good. I really need to find time to exercise if I'm going to lose the wobbliness - diet alone isn't going to fix it!

Somewhere, I am very impressed that you manage to track even when you're having a day off!

hevs, I've never done f&h so can't help at all, I'm afraid.

I've been thinking what would be my number one choice if I decided to have one blow-out. Rainicorn, you're ahead of me! Though I don't think I'd do cheese on toast - maybe beer and salt&vinegar crisps? Or a Nigella chocolate melt-in-the-middle pudding. I tend to get stumped if I find I have points to spare at the end of the day and can't think how to treat myself - not that I ever have enough for a blow-out!

SomewhereIBelong · 22/02/2015 20:01

Miffy... I just thought , as you do, I wonder how much a "pretty normal for the past" meal would be in points, and was a bit shocked to be honest!

SomewhereIBelong · 22/02/2015 20:02

Oh,and Well done on more than a pound!

Twinklestar2 · 22/02/2015 21:13

Hev I do f and h.

I have marmite on my crumpets which is free.

Typical day looks like this:

Shredded wheat or porridge and skimmed for breakfast
Boiled eggs/ham/bacon medallions and sandwich thins for lunch
Dinner is beef stew and veg, chicken roast dinner, chilli and brown rice, spag Bol made with whole wheat pasta.
Fruit and a ww yog (1pp) for snacks
Sometimes I have 2 crumpets for snacks too Smile

Also eat a lot of sugar free jelly and tinned fruit without the juice as snacks.

Twinklestar2 · 22/02/2015 21:14

Warbutons medium sliced bread - the 400g loaf - is free, as are ww petitpains, pittas and wraps which is great for lunchtimes!

Twinklestar2 · 22/02/2015 21:19

Me again!

Today my menu was:

Warbutons bread with a slice of cheese (3pp)

Sandwich thin with baked beans and an egg

Chicken, potato, parsnip, carrot, green beans, cauliflower and brocolli

Snacked on 2 crumpets with marmite
and Sugar free jelly

Rainicorn · 23/02/2015 07:48

3lbs off for me this week, which is 1lb off really as I put on last week. I've lost 14lb in total so far. Feel like I've had two wasted weeks, but back on track now and hoping for another stone by the Easter hols.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 23/02/2015 08:54

0.5 kg off for me. But it's the same 0.5kg I gained back a couple of weeks ago.

So now I really need to push through this barrier. I keep gaining and losing around this amount. So if we have a dry week I'm upping the exercise. Also trying to do a few 18:6's.

Thanks for the lunch suggestions everyone.

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 23/02/2015 11:48

Interesting to see your mealplan, Twinkle, though I must say I think I'd be ravenous if I ate as little as you!
Well done, Rainicorn, 3lb is amazing, even if you did put on 2lb last week!
And well done, Penguins, 0.5kg is also great!

Seems like there are a few of us who need to get back on track now, but at least we're all ready to go for it now.

What are 18:6's?

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 23/02/2015 11:58

It's based on the same idea as 5:2 - that your body benefits from periods of fasting. But instead of having fast days, you extend the natural fast your body does overnight whilst you sleep. So you limit your eating to a 6 hour window of the day (you can also do 16:8).

I am one of those people who finds I'm often more hungry if I eat breakfast, so this makes sense for me. First eat at lunch time, then nothing after the evening meal. Helps me to resist snacking in the evening too as it's my fast window. So it's not 'ummm what shall I have. Shit just ate 3 digestives', it's 'no, this is fast time'.

HedgehogsDontBite · 23/02/2015 12:10

That sounds like my eating pattern when my eating disorder was at it's very worst.

Twinklestar2 · 23/02/2015 12:16

Miffy - I'm surprised you think that's little food, I am positively stuffed on that, especially after dinner! Grin

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 23/02/2015 12:18

Oh gosh, I'm not suggesting it suits everyone. Absolutely for some it would be disordered eating. But for other people I think the focus on constant food throughout the day can be hard. The horizon programme had some interesting stuff on eating types and how, if you are a 'feaster' who finds it hard to stop eating, taking total breaks can be helpful.

I do understand what you mean a bit though. I've had patches of disordered eating (not quite eating disorder), but it's different things that set me off.

HedgehogsDontBite · 23/02/2015 12:25

For me the worst thing is not eating regularly. I have no control over what I eat if I'm hungry. That's my daily battle. Not stopping myself from eating the wrong food but making myself eat something. My default setting is to not eat until it's too late.

Rainicorn · 23/02/2015 13:36

Hedge, I'm like you. If im hungry I tend to stuff my face blindly rather than on plan. I found the advice you gave a few weeks ago about making sure you have something to eat around every 2 hours helpful. I'm snacking on fruit/popcorn to help curb those hunger gaps and it's working a treat.

Just realised I've dropped a point today as well. Which isn't really much and hopefully will help with portion sizes.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 23/02/2015 13:44

I am the opposite. I eat best when properly hungry at meal times. Otherwise I graze mindlessly and don't stop when full. I respond best to quite large meals but well spaced.Smile

FixItUpChappie · 23/02/2015 18:56

No loss again - very frustrating. I was really good this week - hardly used my extras, got 25 activity points off my fitbit (that I didn't eat) and still nothing. In my opinion it is physically impossible for me to not lose when I used to eat anything I wanted all day, every day. The change in the amount I eat is pretty stunning so come on!!!!!

I am off to buy a new scale

I've got to branch out in my food too. I'm going to turn into a chicken if I have one more chicken breast.

FixItUpChappie · 23/02/2015 18:57

sorry for the rant Blush

HedgehogsDontBite · 23/02/2015 19:34

Do you need to go back to measuring everything carefully? I do it be sight after a while and have noticed there can be a gradually move towards bigger portions.

FixItUpChappie · 23/02/2015 20:41

I think I'm going to get a scale. I definately round down a bit (possibly a lot)

FixItUpChappie · 23/02/2015 20:42

A food scale I mean

(also a new weight scale because I'm convinced mine is broken!)

Twinklestar2 · 23/02/2015 23:14

Bad luck on the sts fix Hmm

My menu today

Shredded wheat and hot milk and a crumpet with marmite

Sandwich thins with bacon and eggs
