So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

Gator - at my meeting there are women that look embarrassed/sad/uneasy and I really admire them. I would love to go over and say how well they are doing but they won't make eye contact and I don't want to further embarrass them but I really do think they are great for working on their weight problem. You've lost 11lbs in the time I've lost only 4lbs, you're doing brilliantly don't give up. I've just started with the venison thing and been avoiding it for years. My daughter lives on it and made me try it, it's lovely.

Somewhere - how exciting! Good luck with the interview.

I'm really trying hard today but evenings are my downfall.

HedgehogsDontBite · 12/02/2015 18:25

Venison is lovely meat. I think it's like lamb but stronger. Delicious.

I'm really struggling today too. I have managed to stick to my points but it's been a battle. DS has woken at 5.00 am the last few days and the sleep deprivation is killing me. The leftover Christmas chocolates are offering to give me a great big chocolatey hug. I will not go over to the dark side. (Although I've saved some points so I can have a couple once DS is asleep)

Hi everyone, just joined yesterday and honestly have joined about 30 times before though never lose more than a stone as I give up.. want to lose 2 stone... hope this time with my new shiny book will be different. I have found a nice quiet class etc, though left confused... though think I know what i'm doing now i have read up etc.
Linked my fit bit but it didn't show up on ww tracker even though bot FB and ww say it's linked???
26 points seems a lot of food plus fruit as i eat about 4 pieces a day?? worried I might put weight on? scared of using weekly points??? any advice gratefully received... want this time to work!!!!!

SomewhereIBelong · 13/02/2015 12:46

Hiya red... haven't got a fitbit myself, but if you ask at your next meeting someone will have one and be able to help you

I'm obviously a bit heavier than you- I get 31 points and have NO trouble eating them all!!! You are supposed to eat all your day's points

The one bit of advice I'd give is don't expect it to be like before - the new plan aims for slow and steady weight loss - so none of the 5lb first week then `1/2lb on/off/on etc...

I have done 2lb a week for 5 weeks

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 13/02/2015 13:50

I have a Fitbit. It shows up in activity points. How many steps have you done? I think you need to be over about 7,000 to get any points ( not sure as I tend to be either around 5,000 and get none or well over 10,000 and get a few.

SomewhereIBelong · 14/02/2015 20:06

decided not to have any bread today - and feel a lot less bloated and more energetic...

HedgehogsDontBite · 15/02/2015 07:56

Just 0.1 kg loss this week. It's so depressing. I've stuck to it like glue but this is the first week where I've used all my weeklies too. :

colleysmill · 15/02/2015 08:02

I seem to have a few weeks hedgehog where I lose little amounts and then a week when I have a bigger loss (often without trying as hard!) so don't be disheartened.

A loss is still a loss :)

colleysmill · 15/02/2015 08:09

I'm sure I read somewhere that actually it's better to weigh fortnightly but most weight loss programmes weigh weekly because we get impatient and a weekly meeting keeps people on track better.

I'm feeling quite good this week despite having fish and chips on Friday (post school disco - I needed them!!) I am also trying to eat a morning biscuit with a cuppa (rich tea so quite low in points) but ds2 keeps pinching them out my hand. I've kept up with the yoga and Pilates and things are definitely firming up. Nearly at the point where my previously tight jeans are too big - might try on the next size down again today to see :)

SomewhereIBelong · 15/02/2015 08:10

The way our group leader explained it, the weeklies are your safety net and your weight loss.. You can expect to lose less than a pound if you eat all your points and all your weeklies.

but 0.1kg down is still 0.1kg in the RIGHT direction, so don't feel down about it, what would have happened if you had not been "dieting"?

SomewhereIBelong · 15/02/2015 08:16

Pancake day coming up on Tuesday... how many points in a pancake I wonder?

hevs10593 · 15/02/2015 08:18

That's why I don't eat my weeklies unless I absolute need to dip in them. I would never lose if I ate them all!

SomewhereIBelong · 15/02/2015 08:25

me too hevs...

Well, did the recipe builder for my pancakes and 3 PP each + smear of oil for frying + sugar on top with the lemon juice - so 4 to be safe. 2 pancakes usually - so 8 PP needed for Tuesday, but soooooo worth it!

HedgehogsDontBite · 15/02/2015 08:26

I don't usually use many of them as I too see them as the buffer zone.

Twinklestar2 · 16/02/2015 10:09

1.5 off this week Grin

Rainicorn · 16/02/2015 12:36

Well I fell off the WW wagon spectacularly at the weekend and I've put 2lb on.

Back to the drawing board, back on plan. Onwards and upwards.

SomewhereIBelong · 16/02/2015 14:09

Woohooo twinkle!!! Well done

Rain - hey ho, we all have weeks like that! Just need to remind yourself why you are doing it, and jump right back up on the wagon.

I'm not weighing in this week since it is a daytime meet, and it is half term, and I have a house full of various kids (only 2 are mine!) sleeping over and don't trust them to leave the place in a decent state if I pop to town for a couple of hours in the middle of them all going home!

Still, late nights and chasing round tidying up might help burn off some extra... does my diet good too because they all eat pizza/chips/salad together and I have an M+S count on us meal with salad later.

colleysmill · 16/02/2015 16:53

Well done twinkle!

I am feeling a bit sorry for myself with an awful cold and just generally tired. Even had to have emergency lucozade which I darent pro point. Can't even be bothered to yoga so I must be under the weather!

Still I'm definitely nearly ready for smaller jeans although because I feel rubbish I'm in a huge jumper and my bigger jeans for comfort! Hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow :)

hevs10593 · 17/02/2015 17:06

Somewhere are they the pp for homemade pancakes? I'm planning on having 2. Just sat debating the gym beforehand, feel like I've walked miles today but I cheated with chocolate digestives again yesterday! I don't know what it is about chocolate digestives they make me lose all will power!

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 17/02/2015 18:18

When I did my recipe online they came out 3 each with skimmed milk. Plus 1 teaspoon of sugar. So 8 for two.

We are doing ours later in the week. I plan on making lunch that day a very low point soup like veg and lentil. Smile

hevs10593 · 17/02/2015 18:49

I've just pointed my mums pancake recipe! :( Think I'll be having something else!!

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 17/02/2015 18:56

but with skimmed milk and spray oil makes 12 at 3 pp each

poorpaws · 17/02/2015 19:24

I lost 1 lb o Sunday weigh-in which I really didn't deserve.

I've got one of the worse colds ever this week and tried to continue my weight loss programme but now I've given up. I feel dreadful and really need food, drink, chocolate etc so instead of struggling and feeling more miserable I'm having a week off. I might regret it next week but just now I cannot do this.

I'll still log on daily to watch your progress and wish you all great losses.

FixItUpChappie · 17/02/2015 19:24

I hope you dont mind if I slink back on here.

I jumped off the wagon ladies. It wasn't pretty. I was feeling a bit frustrated at a gaining one week and then not losing the next and was overall just itching to have some freedom. I participated in a work potluck which was uncountable in my mind and just sort of gave up from there. I gave myself the whole weekend off (and it was a long weekend too!).

So haivng had my fill of bad food I'm going to try really hard to get back on track. I am thinking of trying to build in a scheduled "eat whatever day" once every 4-5 weeks as a bit of a release valve. I'm thinking that might help me stay on track as long as I don't let it slide into days of cheating.

My husband got me a Fitbit so I'm going to see if that adds any motivation.

So back today - just polished off my my chicken and yellow pepper wrap (6pts) and my cup of fat free skim milk

HedgehogsDontBite · 17/02/2015 19:38

I'm pretending it's not Shrove Tuesday. I could eat pancakes till they came out of my ears. Here in Sweden they eat 'semlor' today. These are sweet saffron buns fiiled with almond goo and whipped cream. Each one contains all the points you'll be allowed for the rest of your life. So I'm giving them a miss too.
