So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

Did someone say cheese? I was in France for the weekend and gave up pointing. Mmmmm cheese! Had some lovely runny cheese and goats cheese. And I brought some back - need to restrain myself somehow!
Back on track now though. Today I have had:
Breakfast: 1 slice toast with marmite and cottage cheese (fills me up more than butter & marmite)
Lunch - a salad with some leftover boiled potatoes and goats cheese (see above!) and vinaigrette, with a quick, homemade vegetable soup with soya beans in to fill me up
Dinner - jacket potato with cheese, sweetcorn, lettuce and edemame
And a small square of dark chocolate and some milk in my teas and coffees.
And snacks - I've snacked on pickled gerkins today, as well as some apple, carrot, cucumber sticks and a handful of grapes. I don't go to meetings, just do it online, so no ww products for me.

Amazingly, I seem to have pointed that up at 20 points - meaning 6 spare for afters. I'm debating whether to have more (fancy French) cheese, a glass of wine or an M&S chococcino muffin (7pp so more than I can afford, especially after the weekend blow out - I don't think I really should use any weeklies until my next weight in on Saturday).

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 03/02/2015 19:21

Wine or cheese. Definitely!

Rainicorn · 03/02/2015 19:28

Envy at your cheese fest Miffy.

I've had an average day today. I work Tuesday's as a carer and have to cook, but sometimes, like today, I have to serve food already cooked, so hard to point. Plus I go to a coffee shop and have a cake. How many points in a courgette and orange cake? It was yummy. So my food diary today reads

Breakfast 3PP Ryvita and laughing cow triangles (my usual breakfast as I'm not a big breakfast person) and some fruit

Snack 11?pp diet coke and courgette and orange cake

Lunch 15PP Ratatoulle with chorizo and a sunflower seed roll

Tea 9PP Tuna/sweet corn/cottage cheese salad

I'm 2PP over but considering I've had cake and had to guesstimate my snack and lunch it's pretty good.

Swedish cheese buffet heaven

FixItUpChappie · 03/02/2015 20:32

Here is one recipie that helps DH and I not feel like we are on a diet. We are doing a pizza night once a week. This weeks pizza:

-whole wheat thin pizza crust
-brushed with olive oil
-tomato slices (red and yellow)
-spinach
-bit of fresh parsley
-goat cheese (in little chunks spread out)
-red onion

cook for 9-13min

It was really fresh and delicious and if you plan properly it can fit in your points no problem.

FixItUpChappie · 03/02/2015 20:37

Today:

-Banana nut oatmeal (4pts)

-2 x Turkey Pepperoni (3pts)

-Chicken Wrap - small whole wheat wrap, yellow pepper, hummus, chicken (6pts)

-raspberries (0pts)

-poached egg on smoked salmon with 2 tbsps of Hollandaise sauce (10pts)

-banana with cool whip and 2 tbsp of nutella and a sprinkle of walnuts (10pts)

colleysmill · 03/02/2015 20:54

I do apologise I've been really slack about posting this week.

I have to say I've not been that good and I fell spectacularly off the wagon at the weekend accumulating in an afternoon in the pub Blush with several beers ......

However I've been good at exercising and have done yoga/Pilates everyday and lost 3 pounds at weigh in tonight. Slightly undeserved tbh!!

SomewhereIBelong · 04/02/2015 07:49

well done colleysmill 3lb is great!

WI day today, but I have a stinking cold with a cough that is shaking the top of my head so hard it hurts, so I won't be going... (bus travel, cold air and a cough - no ta..) have lost 1.5 to 2 lbs though so not too worried.

Rainicorn · 04/02/2015 07:58

Well done on the 3lb loss Colley.

I'm not a big drinker, and never count my alcohol in Blush. Has never caused an issue with weight loss though.

Somewhere, hope you're feeling better soon.

SomewhereIBelong · 04/02/2015 11:33

Doing ok, just hurts my head when I cough... Often! Sinus trouble...
Doing a food diary instead, breakfast (5pp) sachet of Allen, milk, banana. And blueberries and snacks for today. 2pp for the quavers

Hello everyone, been lurking here for a few days now, joined WW in November and have found F&H a JOY, as I tend to eat a lot of foods from that list anyway. Have lost 12 and a half lbs (aiming for the stone, but hope to go a couple of pounds further for a 'buffer' - if that makes sense??!!) but am stagnating/getting slightly bored with the same old same old.....loving reading some of these meals/recipes for inspiration - FixItUpChappie, do you make your own pizza base?

SomewhereIBelong · 04/02/2015 13:00

Hiya Jelly - you are doing sooooo well... I couldn't do F+H - I neeeeed the restriction of counting or I would not stop eating!

Obviously their different plans suit different people - which is really good.

MagratsHair · 04/02/2015 13:03

Hi Jelly :)

Hope you feel better soon Somewhere :)

I weighed in today after my first week on F&H & lost 3lb! I was sceptical after using points for so long but the change was a good one :)

SomewhereIBelong · 04/02/2015 13:17

2x warburtons farmhouse bread 5pp

HM Burger in sandwich thin, HM chips, salad.

SomewhereIBelong · 04/02/2015 20:13

oh pants - forgot to take a pic of my tea -
Youngs large chip shop cod 7pp,
french fries 7pp and
broccoli - freeeee...

came 1 pp under today and haven't eaten all my snacks I put out yet.

FixItUpChappie · 04/02/2015 20:24

Hey Jelly - nope, I just bought a whole wheat thin crust at the grocery store and fit it in.

Some of you do so good on veggies! I really am not a big veggie eater - I don't mind the mixed into things but as a stand alone like salad I really am not into it. I do see that I'm going to have to bulk up on the free points though as the daily points decrease.

JellyQuivvers · 04/02/2015 21:17

Thanks FixItUp, sorry to fixate on the pizza base Blush, but where do you get them (I've only seen the horrible plasticky white ones), and how many propoints? Thanks! Grin

FixItUpChappie · 04/02/2015 21:57

Hi Jelly - Hmm, well I'm not in the UK so where I bought it probably wont be of assistance. As for the points I'll go back on my IPAD when I get home and let you know - I think the whole thing was like 16 points but I'll check

SomewhereIBelong · 05/02/2015 08:50

When I do homemade pizza I use a Wright's Ciabatta bread mix 500g.

I make the dough in a breadmaker and divide into 7 which gives me 7 points worth of thin and crispy base (easy to remember 1/7th approx 7 pp). Then anything else gets pointed individually. It is a proper bread base which makes a big difference.

tomato paste - I use tomatoes, onion, 1 tsp olive oil, herbs and seasoning (so we are up to 8)

Then toppings, ham, chicken, peppers, mushrooms - about 2 pp worth - so 10

then cheese - usually about 4 pp worth giving 14pp for a decent proper pizza...

Can be reduced easily to fit what points you have, if you use less dough, and less cheese...

Rainicorn · 05/02/2015 16:27

How is everyone today?

Having a bit of a crap day. Have to take some tablets until tomorrow to induce a period, they are making me very ragey and I could kill for chocolate and carbs. Succumbed to a Wispa earlier and taste tested the cheese sauce for lasagne a little too much. Lasagne isn't for me btw, far too many pp. Having spaghetti bolognese instead.

Somewhere, that pizza sounds great. I do like pizza.

I'm going to an American bbq place on Saturday. Looking forward to it but equally dreading it. Maybe do a F&H day and just eat meat.

SomewhereIBelong · 05/02/2015 18:53

I'm feeling a lack of motivation too... period is over, water retention for the next couple of days, so will feel heavy and bloated anyway..

had much more mash than I should with my tea... generally trying to "be good" , but have hit a bit of a lull today...

HedgehogsDontBite · 05/02/2015 20:30

Well I had a Big Mac and Fries today so I'm not doing so good health wise. Although I have been good in that I counted the points and have stayed within my allowance. I prepared for the fall by just having a big bowl of mixed fruit and plain yogurt for breakfast.

I'm going away for a few days soon to a hotel with a buffet breakfast and a buffet tea. I'm dreading it.

Rainicorn · 05/02/2015 21:34

I could totally kill a Big Mac right now.

Made DH take me to IKEA ealier and although I didn't eat anything, I spent more than I intended buying a new suite. Took my mind off food Grin

SomewhereIBelong · 06/02/2015 07:22

I like your distraction technique Rain.. Smile

I find with buffets - don't eat anything that is not brightly coloured - no beige food - helps. oh, and watch the portion sizes...

I love breakfast buffets.... bacon, poached eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, or cereal and fruit are not too high.
