So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

OMG those recipes look utterly vile.

Hi Doing, I have a long long way to go too.

Twinklestar2 · 30/01/2015 22:31

Well done on all the losses! I have no weeklies left and WI is on Monday so I need a good weekend!

HedgehogsDontBite · 31/01/2015 08:14

1 kg (2 lb approx) loss this week. Pleased but wish it were more, but then by 'more' I mean I want to wake up and find it's all gone over night.

Is anyone else worried about being left with giant bingo wings? It's all I think about. I'm driving myself mad worrying about it.

SomewhereIBelong · 31/01/2015 08:27

I'm right there with you Hedgehogs... (well done on the 2lb!!)

I'm also worried about a tummy "flap", I already have an overhang that I have to lift in the shower to make sure it is clean underneath (TMI??)

I have 4 stone to shift and I'm 50, so elasticity of the skin is going fast.

Just trying to get rid of everything slowly, and exercise a bit to strengthen the muscles that "pull it all in"

Rainicorn · 31/01/2015 08:44

I too have a lot to lose.

Not worried about bingo wings as my arms are relatively ok, it's my tummy and arse I'm more worried about.

With on 2lb loss.

Rainicorn · 31/01/2015 08:44

WTG even.

HedgehogsDontBite · 31/01/2015 10:23

I've got 10 stone to lose Blush :(

Rainicorn · 31/01/2015 11:39

I have 5 to lose so I can have an operation, but 7 to lose in total.

We can do this.

BackToTheFuschia · 31/01/2015 14:52

1lb off. Was hoping for 2 to get my 5% so now I'm aiming for 2 off this week to get my 5% and be under 13st :)

HedgehogsDontBite · 31/01/2015 15:36

Having to lose for an operation is a lot of pressure. You're right though we can do this. I try to stay focused on just losing enough to buy clothes in the regular section again. I can't imagine beyond that.

poorpaws · 31/01/2015 15:49

May I join too please? (again). I was on here 18 months ago and now I have even more weight to lose.

I lost 3 stones with WW 3 years ago and the weight hasn't so much crept on as galloped!

I need to lose about a stone and a half. I am overweight but not obese (I am very near I think so it's a good incentive not to go back there).

It's weigh day tomorrow and I am nervous although I have tried hard.

I've been lurking here for ages so feel I know some of you already.

I always say I have baby weight to lose. My baby was 33 years old last week.

aghjmyrtle · 31/01/2015 20:12

I have struggled to lose weight and although I managed to get to goal last year with WW I put all the weight back on plus more! I feel so demoralised and know that I want to lose about a stone but I can't get motivated and feel going back to WW is a waste of money as I didn't manage to make the lifestyle changes I need to make to keep the weight off. Congratulations to all you who have succeeded in losing!

HedgehogsDontBite · 01/02/2015 19:38

Anyone know how many points for an average pork sausage (like Richmond)? I found a pack in the freezer and I can't see the nutritional info. They don't sell them here in Sweden so there's nothing even vaguely similar in my book.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 01/02/2015 19:52

A 49g generic pork sausage is 3 on the app

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 01/02/2015 19:52

Sorry. should have been a Smile

HedgehogsDontBite · 01/02/2015 19:56

Thanks. Glad I gave them to DH then while I had chicken. :o

hevs10593 · 01/02/2015 20:07

I tried the weight watchers pork sausages. I did a secret swap in the tea the other day and guess what!? Nobody noticed they were any different, I was waiting for the "these taste different than normal comments ... But no . Not bad for 1pp per sausage.

Rainicorn · 02/02/2015 10:16

Id much rather have two normal sausages than two WW sausages. Don't like them one bit, they taste very synthetic to me.

WI for me this morning, I lost 3lb Shock. 13 lbs and have reached my first goal of 5%. Really chuffed with myself.

HedgehogsDontBite · 02/02/2015 10:40

That's fantastic! Well done you.

MagratsHair · 02/02/2015 10:56

Well done Rainicorn! that's fab! :) :) :)

I've started Filling & Healthy today for the first time since doing simple start last year & so far so good. I'm eating a lot more!

Rainicorn · 02/02/2015 11:35

Thanks :) I feel fab and can feel the weight loss, definitely,in some of my clothes and my boots are not as tight around my calves.

What is everyone having as snacks? I'm either having fruit (yawn) or popcorn (M&S multipack 2PP) and while I enjoy it I'll no doubt get bored. Looking for inspiration.

SomewhereIBelong · 02/02/2015 12:07

Rainicorn - well done, that is fantastic!!

Snacks - I am having

quavers (from multipack) - 2PP
nectarines and blueberries 0pp
sugar free jelly with pineapple in it 0pp
snack a jacks since they have TONS of flavour.. 2pp

sugar free polos 2pp per pack

30g bags of butterkist toffee popcorn from multipack - 3pp when I want something really treat worthy for a snack!!

GatoradeMeBitch · 02/02/2015 12:46

I keep sabotaging, gah! Yesterday evening I had reached maximum points, which was plenty of food but I wanted to stay up to watch the Superbowl (half of it anyway, I wasn't staying up till 3am). So I ended up eating 12 points worth of chocolate digestives Sad

And I don't want to keep spending two days pre weigh-in eating only vegetables and lean meat to make up for the mistakes. I think I've screwed with my metabolism so much over the years that on day three when I reintroduce carbs I tend to feel quite ill, like instant indigestion.

Can I ask where you all find most support/inspiration? My group leader just sadfaced me on the week where I didn't lose anything. I told her how I intended to right things, she jotted it down, and that was that. It seems like ours is quite a big meeting. It takes about 30 minutes for all the weigh-ins, then there is a short meeting where the group leader tries to sell us WW products and focuses on one specific aspect, like always eating breakfast. And at the end there are always new members for her to talk to. I don't find the group helpful at all really. I don't know anyone and they don't seem particularly friendly.

And I don't feel motivated to use the website. I think that's my huge problem actually, I just don't feel motivated. And I should because I've got a hell of a lot to lose!

Rainicorn · 02/02/2015 13:01

Gator, write it off and move on. Just stay within your points, no need to struggle for the two days. Would changing your WI day help?

I don't go to meetings, I do it all online. I hate meetings. The leaders at my local ones are so miserable and clearly only doing it for the money. Theyre not inspirational and try flog you the WW stuff which might be great PP wise, but full of sugar and additives. Not good long term. They're also full of old ladies who never lose anything.

Currently, I am aming to lose because I need a hysterectomy and the consultant wants me to lose as much as possible before my appointment end of May. The more I lose the better my chances the consultant will agree. Currently she is reluctant because of my weight. I need to lose weight for my health.

After that, I may struggle with inspiration. Do you have any photos of yourself at your heaviest you can stick on the fridge and cupboards to deter you?

My struggle is night time as well when the dc are in bed and I'm bored. Should take up knitting or something.

SomewhereIBelong · 02/02/2015 13:02

I draw inspiration from the meetings TBH - but we have a great leader and a fab group - it is large but very friendly and there is always a good mix of "I did really well" and "oh god I put on 2". The leader always does her chat of the week - this coming week will be exercise for instance,

but then she goes on to chat about what has made us feel good or bad that week, how to just knuckle down and DO it sometimes and if you blow out - do it all in one day, then forget it and start fresh tomorrow.

I also like little groups like this one where everyone has a go at helping if they can - seems really supportive here...

When is your weigh in day Gator? I chose a group that meets on a Wednesday because I tend to eat less on Mon and Tue anyhow after the weekend.. I also chose a morning meeting because that way I don't get into the daft "I can't eat before my meeting" thing - breakfast is essential, and it is easy to eat the same thing every week before weigh in, so I KNOW it isn't that if I put on.!

I don't use the website a lot - but do use it to track since it has most foods on there and the recipe builder can show me which ingredients I should be using less of.

Low carbing makes me ill afterwards too - so instead of just lean meat and veg I will have a bowl of alpen (from a sachet so I don't cheat) and a banana chopped over it for lunch - with milk =6pp and filling til tea time.
