So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

When I'm feeling a bit blue about only losing small amounts I Google what a pound of fat looks like - it sounds a bit weird Grin but it helps put things into perspective.

I'm really guilty of thinking 'only a pound/half a pound loss - I've failed' but the small amounts do add up and when you look at what a pound of fat actually looks like I feel much more accomplished!!!

Weigh in tonight for me - fingers crossed for that pound off that gets me to a stone loss

Rainicorn · 27/01/2015 12:32

Today is not going to go well.

At work and usually I cook for me and the man I care for so I can point up. However his wife has leftovers she wants us to use for lunch. Steak and noodles is some sort of sauce. Smells divine but no idea what points will be in it. Confused

Will have salad for tea so not to go over my points.

SomewhereIBelong · 27/01/2015 13:08

weigh in tomorrow for me so today is like the 2 days of a 5:2 diet!

But I do know I have lost some weight because my "tummy shelf" below my boobs is shrinking!

Rainicorn · 27/01/2015 14:10

Good luck Somehwere.

My "shelf" is shrinking as well I think it's because I'm not eating lots of bread and potatoes and pasta. I love carbs but they certainly done love me.

colleysmill · 27/01/2015 19:19

Not too bad - another pound gone (hopefully never to be seen again!!) Which takes me up to my first stone award.

I'm chipping away slowly but surely (although I won't win any awards for the speediest weight loss ever but still it's going which is the main thing)

Rainicorn · 27/01/2015 20:27

Well done colley

colleysmill · 27/01/2015 20:45

Thanks Rainicorn :)

. Only another 2 and a half stones to go however this is the longest time I have stuck with any kind of weight loss programme - normally I've given up by now - but i am determined to stick with it.

hevs10593 · 27/01/2015 21:31

Has anyone ever tried the weight watchers sausages? Are they any good?

Twinklestar2 · 27/01/2015 21:59

Well done colley!

I haven't tried the ww sausages so can't comment Grin

GatoradeMeBitch · 27/01/2015 22:37

Somewhere I was just telling a friend that I feel like I'm on the 5:2 diet again!

My weakest day is weigh-in day, after weigh-in of course! I have to walk through town and immediately start thinking of cupcakes and all sorts. Then it's the weekend and we often go out with friends or get a takeaway, and Saturday morning is traditionally croissant morning, and the croissants are still there whether I'm joining in or not... So on Monday I start thinking I have to get my act together and count points carefully. Tuesday I realize that if I want to see a loss on the scales I'm going to have to eat less than 500 cals for the next two days!

GatoradeMeBitch · 27/01/2015 22:39

Well done Colley!

FixItUpChappie · 28/01/2015 05:07

I like volleys suggestion to google what your loss looks like in real terms Grin very motivating

I'm with you twinkle...fresh start. even did sit ups yesterday

Twinklestar2 · 28/01/2015 07:01

Well done chappie Grin

colleysmill · 28/01/2015 07:58

Chappie - it sounds a bit odd but it does stop me getting too negative about the little losses and in the past I've always quit because I get into a mindset of "I can't do it -I'm not meant to be lighter" A pound of fat actually looks quite substantial!

I had prided myself that despite having had 2 dc my stomach was still relatively firm - however the more weight I've lost I've realised it was just a trick and I was just padded out with fat! So ive started doing a dvd which is amix of yoga and pilates to try and tone up my middle a bit more - it doesn't feel particularly "hardcore" while I'm doing it but jeez it makes my abs hurt the next day.

SomewhereIBelong · 28/01/2015 12:37

Yay - week 3 - got rid of 2 pounds,

got my first silver seven -

but MORE IMPORTANTLY - I will NEVER be 16 stone anything again... went under the stone mark.... feeling on top of the world.

GatoradeMeBitch · 28/01/2015 13:29

Congratulations Somewhere!

Rainicorn · 28/01/2015 14:21

Congratulations Somewhere :)

I've bee to Giraffe for lunch today. No bloody calorie information on their website though, so no idea what I've eaten. Was really good though and got a bunless burger with side salad. It was delicious.

Rainicorn · 28/01/2015 14:27

The visualisation thing reminded me of an old WW thread I was on last year. A guinea pig = 1lb, so every guinea pig helps.

See photo for visualisation purposes.

Also, see here for body shape difference.

SomewhereIBelong · 28/01/2015 14:32

aww, thanks all....

Giraffe is in the eating out book... so long as it wasn't the 50pp Mexican chicken burger followed by chocolate tart at 19pp you'll be fine!

Rainicorn · 28/01/2015 14:35

Anyone have the eating out book then? Grin

I had no bun herby chicken with the side salad and sweet potato fries (weeklies for those as been good so far)

HedgehogsDontBite · 28/01/2015 14:43

I'm going to remember that forever: every guinea pig helps!

SomewhereIBelong · 28/01/2015 14:49

And cheers Rainicorn - I used to be almost an Arnie....

I have the guide.. but those aren't there of course... so no help at all.. sorry. (but their chicken salad is 13 points)

Twinklestar2 · 28/01/2015 17:36

Brilliant Somewhere!! Well done!

SomewhereIBelong · 28/01/2015 18:42

still feeling good!

and I had an M+S Fish pie for tea (8pp) , with green beans and carrots (0pp) - was a good big plateful and I couldn't finish it!

Rainicorn · 28/01/2015 20:03

I have a M&S pizza for tomorrow from recommendations on here. Looks lovely, looking forward to eating it.
