So who else is back to the WW routine in January?

I lost weight slowly and steadily on the 'filling and healthy' ww plan last year. Lost 16lbs over 16 weeks and I am back within my gold buffer zone but not quite where I'd like to be yet. Have had a couple of weeks off over christmas but planning to weigh in on Monday at my meeting...which I expecte will be rammed!
I also need to increase the exercise as that waned a bit in December.

Hope to have some company on this board for the new year. What are your aims?

Well done Ethel.

My menu today

Breakfast 3PP: 2 Ryvita and 2 laughing cow light triangles (I have this every day yawn) and some mango

Snack 4pp: Popcorn

Lunch 7PP: king prawn and quinoa salad with mint dressing

Snack 6PP: scampi nik naks and a happy face biscuit

Tea 13PP : spaghetti bolognese

Still have 3PP left, but might leave them as not hungry and have been not so well behaved today.

HedgehogsDontBite · 23/01/2015 18:36

Today I had:

Breakfast 6PP: 1 dl natural yogurt with 1/2 dl cheerios and blackberries, a slice of bread and butter with ham, tomato and cucumber.

Snack 4PP: slice of bread and butter with ham and cucumber

Lunch 8PP: 2 slices of bread and butter with ham and cucumber (bad night and stressed and wanted to sleep when toddler did)

Snack 4PP: rice pudding with apple and cinnamon

Dinner 10PP: baked potato, mix of chopped up ham, cottage cheese, red onion and peas (which was surprisingly delicious) and salad.

I'm on 38 points this week so have 6 left for a snack later. There's a Fry's Turkish Delight calling me from the fridge.

BackToTheFuschia · 23/01/2015 21:39

Hats off to you all counting points, I just couldn't do it. Too much faffing plus the 26 points I'd get feel like they'd go nowhere!
Weigh in in the morning, fell off the wagon a bit tonight with dinner but not toooo badly. My dad made mash with semi skimmed milk and butter and I had 3 chipolatas. I've used all of my weeklies this week, if not used a couple over with oil etc.
Actually, I have a question if you don't mind please? I ate about half a portion of Chinese takeaway chicken curry on Saturday night, I allowed 20pp to be sure I'd covered myself, but realistically how many points is there likely to have been? That was all I had, I made WW chips to go with it so no rice!
So I'm nervous for the morning!

colleysmill · 24/01/2015 08:19

Hi ya ill see what the eating out book says about Chinese curry :)

Last night I cooked the ww bake in bag piri piri chicken and several with salad and whole wheat Bulgur wheat. Really really tasty

HedgehogsDontBite · 24/01/2015 08:37

I lost 2.4 kg (around 5 lbs). I'm well chuffed.

colleysmill · 24/01/2015 08:47

Oh well done Hedgehog!!!!!!

SomewhereIBelong · 24/01/2015 08:51

WOW ! well done Hedgehog...

Rainicorn · 24/01/2015 09:15

Way to go Hedge!

Fuschia, according to google your chicken curry was 12 pp

If I'm getting takeaway, I substitute rice with cauliflower rice. 0pp and really tasty.

BackToTheFuschia · 24/01/2015 11:16

3lb off! That's 8lb in 2 weeks- so pleased with myself!

Thanks for the info re curry, I'm glad I overestimated :)

Twinklestar2 · 24/01/2015 19:04

Well done - fab losses!!

SomewhereIBelong · 25/01/2015 08:04

well done BTTF ! overestimating points always helps.

Rainicorn · 25/01/2015 20:51

Well done fuchsia.

How has everyone's weekend been?

I had 42 weeklies left, tomorrow is my weigh in, so I've just eaten a huge rhubarb crumble and custard that DH made. Was utterly divine but 26PP yikes.

Rainicorn · 26/01/2015 08:26

1lb off. Slightly disappointed, was hoping for 2 this week and 2 next so I could get the stone off by next week. Must work harder.

SomewhereIBelong · 26/01/2015 09:07

1lb off is still a pound in the RIGHT direction, well done rain.... try carrying a tin of beans around all day - you were carrying the equivalent in fat this time last week... I carried a bag with a couple of tins in after weigh in last week just to remind me, and I didn't half feel it by the end of the day.

I am hoping for any loss at all this week - have had a bit of a "snacky" week which is daft, I know I don't need to snack, but I think I get past the first few weeks and just feel hard done by or something!!

I thought I'd have a couple of crumpets for breakfast today as everybody raves over them... I did not find them as filling as a couple of slices of toast.... Sad. I guess I need to stick to pp, not ready for "filling" and healthy yet..

Twinklestar2 · 26/01/2015 10:04

Ashamed to admit that I gained a pound and it's all my fault! Promise to do better this week.

Menu

Shredded wheat and skimmed milk
Soup and sandwich thin
Chilli and brown rice

Rainicorn · 26/01/2015 12:07

Oops, meant 2-3 this week and 2-3 next to make the 5lbs to a stone.

I'm not surprised my loss wasn't big, I wasn't eating healthily although stayed within my points.

I couldn't do F&H, I'd eat all day because I could and probably not lose. I need to be controlled.

SomewhereIBelong · 26/01/2015 16:22

Twinkle - 1lb is not a lot... and since you're not happy with it, it should shift... One lady at our last meeting had been on a 2 week cruise over new year and put on almost a stone!! She will probably drop most of it this week...

I was hoping to lose more in the early weeks (like in the old points system) too Rain..., but I think this new plan is more about slow, continual weight loss... I quite like it..

and my discovery for this week.... WW own fruit purée pouches 1pp for the pouch (50p in our Waitrose at the moment!!) - the berry one is deeeelish swirled into a low points yoghurt.

Breakfast tomorrow will be 2 weetabix, yoghurt and the rest of the pouch.

Twinklestar2 · 26/01/2015 17:36

Thank you somewhere Grin

FixItUpChappie · 27/01/2015 03:40

Well I really sucked out - 0.6 loss. As with Rain I'm not too surprised....I was cheating within the points IYKWIM? Cheating myself anyway.

What is nice is that I feel a renewed commitment instead of like giving up. That is progress of a sort Grin

Twinklestar2 · 27/01/2015 07:19

Starts afresh with me chappie Grin

Day 1 for me yesterday and I stuck to it. Onwards and downwards!

Menu

Shredded wheat and skimmed
Soup and ww petit pain
Jacket potato, chilli, salad

HedgehogsDontBite · 27/01/2015 08:22

I made the mistake of weighing myself midweek today and my weight has gone up despite sticking to the plan like glue. :(

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 27/01/2015 08:36

Midweek weigh-ins don't count, Hedgehogs! I used to weigh myself every day and you'd be surprised how much your weight changes day to day. Honestly - you could weigh a couple of pounds less tomorrow. If you've stuck to the plan, I bet you'll have lost by the time weigh-in day comes around.
Well done to the losses!
I had a wobbly weekend after a great start with a 3lb loss. I gave up pointing as DP miraculously cooked tea and we had a toddler birthday party. I also haven't exercised in ages as I've been feeling under the weather. BUT I managed to avoid scoffing loads of snacks and cake at the party although I did lick the spoon and I don't regret it as it was divine.
I'm away this weekend so I'll be off points again and won't be able to weigh in. SO hard to find the time to stick to it!

iwantgin · 27/01/2015 08:39

I'm stuck.

Am still up on pre-christmas weight, and feeling like i can't shift anything.

Have been doing loads of exercise - but not tracking as accurately as I should.

Need a kick up the backside I think. Blush

SomewhereIBelong · 27/01/2015 08:54

I'm tracking - going over on the points sometimes - but if I didn't track - even one day I think I'd just pig out and that would be that...

End of January is when most people give up on a diet.... I AM NOT GOING TO BE MOST PEOPLE - and if I keep saying that it might get into my thick skull....... going to keep Dory's mantra from finding Nemo in my head instead... just keep swimming tracking...

Hopelass · 27/01/2015 08:56

Hedgehogs don't worry I did that last week. Looked like I'd gained a pound when in fact by weigh in two days later I'd lost 2lb don't give up!
