Aw PBM- the prize I was offering was a family holiday to the Caribbean. Sadly though you did not win. Shame The bloody bollocking plumber called at 11.45 and blew us out. Growl. Am cross.

We Pistes have seen Toy Story 3. tWas fun so was the A Team but think that was a 12A. DS wants to see Cats and Dogs as he liked the last one. Let me know GT if it's worth it.

Poohbearsmom · 17/08/2010 15:57

Ooooooh dangit thats not a half bad prize piste Grin

Trimmer how do you make your cheese rolls?

GettinTrimmer · 17/08/2010 16:20

Nothing special PBM, just white finger rolls with a bit of butter (only a scrape for us slinkies) then some grated cheese.

Inconvenience about these plumbers Piste. Will let you know about Cats and Dogs, but dd can get a little scared sometimes so we may have to leave ds and sit outside and wait for him. She cried at bedtime after seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks - frightened about them being in the cage.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 17/08/2010 18:39

I'm Hungary but will not be bad at the cinema. Worked out that half salt/sweet small popcorn is 4.5p so that is what I'm having

loads of friends said that ts3 is sad and they cried even a friends man cried!!!!

Bloody plumber. I know a great female one but obv not near you

gt try and stay off the bad stuff!!!

Pbm how's diet going with the fast?

Poohbearsmom · 17/08/2010 20:26

Hmm diet and fasting are not great friends Blush im trying not to go ott but i tried doing up my ww points yesterday... Got scared and stopped... Blush

Trimmer my ds1 found nemo very upsetting but loves it so much i just fast forward the sharks bit and he's grand :) hope dc's have a lovely time. I had visions of vegetarian sausage roll type thingy's for your cheese rolls, can you tell im hungry?! Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/08/2010 08:51

Morning all...

I found the end of Toy Story 3 bittersweet if you know what I mean?! I like you GT used to have to take DD out, but she used to sob if the film had any sad moment. Aw.

School stuff shopping today - they both need pencil cases and contents( groan) trainers and DS needs a games bag. DD needs proper trainers as there is a lots of endurance training for rowing so lots of running and gym work. Read that as expensive trainers, but i am making DH come Grin DS only needs something general. But their feet are so mahoosive. DD needs an 8 and I think DS might too, he is at least a 7. I used to keep their shoes in a cute little basket, not anymore, these days I practically need a shoe-shed! LOL.

I will leave school shoes because I will need to regain my strength!

PBM - I don't think you should try to fast and diet, they do not seem a happy combination! It's like we have all said about life and diets. At the end of the month when life goes back to a normal pattern ( is there such a thing?!) you can go back to it. Our lives will be like this, periods of time when we can focus on weight loss and times when for whatever reason we can't. It's all cool beans as DD would say!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/08/2010 08:55

i sobbed at ts3 and didnt eat choclate that my friend tried to give me, stuck to my sweet and salt mixed popcorn for 4.5p

GettinTrimmer · 18/08/2010 09:14

Morning slinkies

PBM I have to be careful about what my dc watch on the tv, I know my friends let their little ones watch Dr Who but some epidoses are like horror films! Ds just started watching some episodes.

Good luck with the fasting. Remind me, does the feasting start soon? I am a coffee fiend and I'm drooling at the thought of lovely pastries and lovely coffees!

blondes I am looking forward to our holiday, but just want to get some control back as my black linen shorts are now tight. If I can have a good couple of days I'd be happy!

We are not going to cinema today, dh let ds stay up late (not too happy with him, also used Fiver tv as a baby sitter complete with trailers for violent stuff during the ads). I suppose we all make mistakes. Both dc knackered with all the playing and late night yesterday so having a quiet day...I just have to resist cake after we've been to the library!

Daisy Sorry to hear about your friend Sad And well done for your loss

Prettybird Are you still running? I did my x2 miles yesterday and had to walk the last bit, gotta do 10 miles by October 24th for the Great South Run!! After the holiday I will have to go running x5 per week, no excuses rain or shine.

I had some sad news earlier, my nan age 108 has just died, a fantastic age but she had constant illness and no quality of life. Unfortunately we will miss the funeral as we are on holiday.

Have a good day all x

Just x posted Piste and Blondes.

Piste ikwym about school shopping, and unfortunately we have home work to do, not even started ds's scrapbook and dd has to draw/write a letter to the class toy! And I couldn't agree more sometimes it's so hard to concentrate on the ol diet.

blondes Impressed at the chocolate avoidance. Don't know if Toy Story 3 is for dd.

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 18/08/2010 09:19

mahoosive feet Piste ... are your dc an H width fitting? Both mine have wide ones.

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/08/2010 09:57

GT- sorry about you Nan. That is amazing age but sad she could not enjoy life.

DS's feet are an H so they look less like shoes and more like cross channel ferries! DD is usually an F so completely average. I don't want her feet to grow anymore- two of her friends ( girls ) had size 9s at age 12. That means trainers size10, but it also means they can't get shoes from mainstream shops eg Top Shop stop at an 8. I may take to feet binding!

Also GT - ouch on the homework front that is a bugger and I am not sure necessary? I feel your pain. Sad

Poohbearsmom · 18/08/2010 11:21

Ah Trimmer sorry about your Nan :(
our feast is every evening when we break our fast! We have been much better this year then usually and making and eating less which is great as it means much less work as well as being a bit less on the ol calorie count... We'l have a big celebration at the end with even more naughtyness but then i shall be back to it proper! Have a lovely time on holiday hope ye get some lovely weather

Blondes you halo is blinding! Well done :)

Piste wow at them big shoes iv a tiny foot but it was "cool" when i was a kid to have big feet and used to wear a size 6 even though i wear a 4 or 5 now depending where i buy em Grin best of luck with it and good on ya getting dh to come along! Lol at the binding btw Grin

GettinTrimmer · 18/08/2010 14:41

Aaaaarghh!! dd just said "I want some chocolate" she got some after saying "please" and I really fancy a bag of crisps! Not having one, just a big glass of water instead.

Good. The urge has passed already.

bebe not seen you for a couple of days. Are you OK?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 18/08/2010 16:51

Gt. I'm so sorry about your nan :(

I'm rather impressed at my will power but I REALLY need to shift my extra holiday lbs let alone other weight so I'm in the zone at the moment

but it may not last lol

Poohbearsmom · 18/08/2010 21:57

Well done on turning to the water Trimmer! That is an example for us all :)

Blondes youv lost a huge amount of weight in the past of course you'l shift this little bit left! Your halo will not slip!! Grin

yes i noticed Bebe wasnt around too and we havnt seen laughalot, murtette and jodie in so long! Where are ye women???

bebejones · 19/08/2010 08:46

Sorry have been AWOL! Been a busy bee! Am wearing a pair of size 12 jeans as I type :o They are a bit tight (not as bad as the Tesco ones) but it's better than having to pull my jeans up every 10seconds!

Trimmer - so sorry about your nan, what a fantastic age.
Well done on resisting the crips urge!

PBM - Envy of your feasting, although can imagine it isn't diet friendly.

DD is being a right handful at the moment, terrible twos on a sugar rush!!! :o Am busy sorting through stuff & making some bits and pieces. Got sent £100 of John Lewis vouchers yesterday as a thank you for the work I did for my mums church, was a big surprise! Now need to think of something lovely to spend them on! :) A new bag? Hmm DH would KILL me!!

GettinTrimmer · 19/08/2010 08:53

Morning all

Thanks for condolences for losing Nan Sad She had a "good innings", as my FIL used to say. Strange to think she was born in Edwardian times.

I had not too bad a day yesterday! Quite proud of myself after the fallings off the wagons since the start of the holidays. I think I should probably weigh in tomorrow, then the next time will be 6th September.

blondes Keep that zone going and send some my way when I am back from hols Smile

PBM yes I am rather proud of myself about the glass of water and not a bag of crisps!

piste lol at Cross Channel Ferries! The H fitting is a pain, Clarks don't often keep shoes in that width and they are not cheap. Luckily dd F fitting and we can get away with Shoe Zone.

Can't even find their homework, I filed it somewhere at beginning of hols Hmm I don't think it's necessary, dd has only just finished reception! I can't push it too much as the worst thing I can do is put ds off learning.

We are also supposed to be learning tables, but ds pretends he doesn't know them and just says "5" to everything (4x5? 5! 3x6? 5!).

Did anybody see that documentary on Channel 5 Tuesday evening? x2 experts one a hypnotherapist and another a kick butt personal trainer took someone for x6 weeks and had a competition to see who could lose the most weight. One focused on the mind and dealing with the relationship with food the other just...kicked butt!

I would say a combination of both would work the best, but I wish I had a kick butt personal trainer atm.

bebe cross posted with all my chatting!

Very well done on those size 12s, and enjoy your John Lewis vouchers! I bought my necklace to wear to the wedding online from them, it is a big chunky one, really nice.

Good to see you Smile

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 19/08/2010 09:12

Bebe. Fab for getting in size 12 jeans

gt well for for avoiding crisps and having water. That is the key. Water water water

have seen the diet thing yet but on sky+. Tough is the way to go with anything. Did u see the sleep one?

I wldnt say that ts3 is for young children as they don't know the story and most will go over their heads but if have older ones then take and sure younger will enjoy it or go if you want to see it like I did lol. A lot is adult jokes but a good film :)

stayed with a friend last night and again had will power of a saint/nun. Had a few chicken balls and 1/2 rice and steamed veg minus the slimy mushrooms 'blondes heaves' worked out 7.5p and in under budget lol

I know I won't lose tomorrow as was do bad last week but trying to do limit damage attack :)

I should have lost my weight by now :( and I'm
not in my sexy brown suede trousers and I should be. It's just over 4mths to Xmas and I hope to be in them then. Feel that I have failed in my dieting as should be in them now 'sighs'

RatherBeOnThePiste · 19/08/2010 09:44

GT - tables, groan. Our primary was v hot on them, and now so are DC and I am glad, but wasn't at the time! Chip away, practice in the car. Teach your son this one, he'll not forget
I ate(8) and I ate(8) and I was 'sick on the floor' ( 64)
8x8=64
There, that's one!! LOL

I started an AIBU about buying jeans yesterday. Really interesting responses, have a look as it is so encouraging. DH can buy from Gap without trying on and he doesn't understand the probs us girls have. Growl.

PS. Have just tested DC on tables and they are still hot! Confused as to why I was asking but hot nonetheless !!!

Waves to all Slinky Malinkies!

Poohbearsmom · 19/08/2010 11:25

Very courageous starting a thread in AIBU Piste! I start ones in my head all the time but am too afraid of them to actually post!!

Bebe lovely to see you :) major congrats on your size 12 jeans!

Trimmer i was very good at maths as a child but hated learning off and never did my tables i used to be adding up on my fingers behind my back and my teacher knew it and told my mum he'd never taught a girl who was so good at maths or so lazy in his life Shock Grin

Blondes youv been tough on your self this week so hopefully you will have a loss

i did my ww points for yesterday... Not good... I had 34! And 39 the day before!! Not good, not good!! Today im doing an "irish" dinner though so that will cut the points right back to normal, i had 6 for breakfast (two slices of tiger bread toasted with peanut butter) and a delish latte not good diet food but was lovely Blush
iv to go to g.p later as my fistula has flared up and i hope she can sort me without having to go to hosp, so sick to death of being sick and having to deal with medical crap and everything going against me this year and bloody bloody hospitals!! Gah phew sorry for the rant feel better now :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 19/08/2010 13:14

Hi everyone :)

GT I'm sorry about your nan :(

PBM - don't worry about the points while you are fasting, can't imagine how hungry you must be when it's eventually time to eat!

Blondes that sounds like good damage limitation with the takeaway :)

Bebe - ooh £100 in John Lewis! Envy

I have sts again, really no idea how as I'm having to eat every hour to stop being sick.
The spotting that I had went on until Tuesday so I'm booked in for a scan at the EPU tomorrow, v.v.nervous.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/08/2010 17:14

ali, hope the scan shows good results

RatherBeOnThePiste · 19/08/2010 18:16

Fingers crossed Ali.
