NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS

Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

Oh tibni, didn't realise your back was still bad. School breaks up on tuesday so from now on I am going to try and do my shred first thing while the dd's have breakfast, then I can shower while they watch tv play and we are set up for the day!

I have been mooching on uni website and the exercise classes look fun, was thinking of maybe kickboxing, any ideas if it is any good?

dinkystinky · 19/07/2010 08:58

Quality - I used to kickbox and love, love, love it. Fantastic work out (one hour session burns around 800 calories if you put your all into it) and I was my trimmest and fittest ever when kickboxing. Sadly cant do it nowadays (gave up as soon as found out I was pregnant with DS1 - evening classes dont combine well with small demanding people at home expecting to see me) so get my kickboxing fit through pt sessions and body combat lunchtime classes but I really miss it. Definitely give it a go.

Tibni - glad your back is feeling better. Are you doing any pilates type exercises/classes? Really recommend it for a bad back.

Undertone - just take the skin off and put it in the bin before you can eat any of it! Welld one on the run. Great stuff.

dinkystinky · 20/07/2010 14:23

Oi - are you all off busy biffing?

Quality · 20/07/2010 16:07

I am too busy stressing about fricking childcare/finamce and how I am actualyl going to do this PGCE to zone atm!

DH has announced he is making tea, ingredients I have spotted are couscous, chicken, salad and passata....and a bottle of cava.

Undertone · 20/07/2010 23:35

Sorry! Was at Farnborough all day with work. Was hanging out with Da Boyz all day so couldn't do girly things like not eat.

Quality - sounds like your Dh thinks he's in an episode of Ready Steadi Cook! Did it turn out OK in the end?

tibni · 21/07/2010 14:35

I have been at the gym miss honest! I am very aware that once the dc's are off I am going to struggle to get much training in and that bothers me. Im doing ok with food / exercise combined but concerned when I am not training like a woman possessed I will lose focus.

I have built my running back up after my back strain and im feeling good about it. I have been to the gym everyday so far and I can really see changes - could be doing better food wise but im not doing too bad.

Quality - all healthy food ingredients; did it taste good? Hope the childcare issues are sorting.

Undertone · 21/07/2010 16:46

Who wants to see some 'before' and 'after' photos? Have a look on my profile. The one where I'm looking horribly hot in a stripey t-shirt holding a pint of cider is the 'before' - last year at a horrible Spanish campsite (long story). The one where I'm looking horribly hot in a beige dress is the 'after' - 2 stone down! I'm at Farnborough Air Show in this one - taken yesterday.

You can still see flabby bits and rolls of fat, but generally I think I look a bit less heavy and ponderous. Still a way to go, but it's encouraging.

Do you guys have 'before' and 'after' pics?? I think I'll take these down soon - does having photos up make you feel a bit exposed?

dinkystinky · 21/07/2010 16:51

Wow Undertone - those photos really show the loss. You're doing brilliantly and keep up the excellent work.

Dont have before and after photos - probably because I'm always the one taking the photos in our household! Though as have now put back on 4lbs (and am biffing for England due to PMT, work overload and ill kids) will need to take a photo and focus on losing the weight again...

Quality · 21/07/2010 18:24

Oh Under, those are brilliant pics! Well done you! I think it is the first few stone when you were the weight we are/were that makes such a difference iyswim.
I left my photos on my other profile so I can namechange back but also not be flashing them round the site, I don't know, feels a bit weird, even if youc an't see my face!

Still no gain/loss, childcare as sorted as it's going to be, found a CM who can do exactly what I want but will cost £2500 more than nursery, and the nursery costs are going to break us anyway, so it's a total no brainer really!
Plus got a call today from Dd1's school saying I can do my first week placement there which means for the first 2 weeks of her being in reception I can pick her up and drop her off every day, which makes me a bit happier.
Plus finance forms went off today, so now nothing really to do until september, so am going back on the zone!

dinky, it took me ages to find before and after pics for me as I won't be photographed, ever!

dinkystinky · 21/07/2010 21:27

Yikes re those childcare costs Quality - that's insane!! Glad you can do your placement at DD1's school though and you're back off into the zone.

I am horribly bloated in the tummy today - look a few months pregnant (bodypump teacher asked me if I was pregnant and not one but two men offered me their seats on the tube today - that never even happened when I was pregnant ). Bah humbug.

Quality · 21/07/2010 21:46

Oh dear, I came on eaarly this month with no blaoting or anything, didn't see it coming, hopefully is all the water I am forcing down! Could that be why?

I know re costs, it's not even that expensive tbh, I get 9k bursary, nursery for 36 weeks is 6.5k with ad hoc for dd1, cm would be over 9k. no brainer really, will keep cm's number in case I win the lottery or something though

dinkystinky · 21/07/2010 21:52

Havent been guzzling as much water over the past few days but know am premenstrual (skin is horrid, mood swings, biffing etc.) so guess its related to that.

Undertone · 22/07/2010 13:52

Weirdly (I have horrible implant in arm, so everything about my cycle is weird), if I have biffed for a week or two weeks and then suddenly start really zoning and exercising - I come on.

Now - it could be because hormonally I get to a point where I feel motivated to zone/exercise and this coincides with when I should come on anyway. But it seems weird that once I start losing weight after a period of plateauing I invariably start spotting again.

Today I feel like I have constant PMT. I'm in a RAAAAAGE (but nobody around me knows it - I wonder who will tip me over the egde?)

tibni · 22/07/2010 14:24

Undertone - wow at your photos! Well done, you must take encouragement from the changes.

Cycle does make a difference to weight and desire to biff and motivation to exercise. Although I deny that it is my cycle that has just made me throw £35 of new running gear back in JJB but their terrible customer service. Went to sports direct and got the same gear cheaper

dinkystinky · 22/07/2010 14:45

Ugh, I hate JJB Tibni. The service is always crap in every single branch I have ever visited - so I simply dont go there any more.

I got offered another seat on the tube today on my way in - I really must look pregnant! May have to go and do a test just ot make double sure I'm not...

tibni · 22/07/2010 17:51

dinky - did you accept the seat?

4 staff members behind counter, 1 serving but with a customer that required longer service (return or something). 1 person in front with about 30 items, me and someone behind. Staff chatting with no intention of serving. I worked retail management pre dcs and tend to be patient in shops but this was taking the piss. Decided they didn't deserve my custom; man in sports direct was lovely. I would have understood waiting if everyone had been busy. Daft thing is I went into sports direct first but they have no changing rooms. As I wanted fitted capri pants for running I thought it best to try them on so went to JJB and used their changing rooms. I will not be going back there!

dinkystinky · 23/07/2010 10:23

no - smiled and said am fine. If I was pregnant I'd be sitting down like a shot though...

So big weigh in today and am still 10 stone 8 and thoroughly fed up. Have exercised so hard this week that my thighs and butt muscles are screaming at me but nothing showing on the scales. Ho hum...

tibni · 23/07/2010 12:05

dinky I am only 1lb down and I have worked my butt off! But, as dh pointed out, I no longer have love handles and I have real definition in my shoulders and arms. Its not just about the scales its about the difference you are making to your body.

I have been to dd leavers assembly this morning, she has finished primary - so I will not fit the gym in today. I am going to walk the couple of miles into town to meet dh who only works half on day on Fridays so good exercise but im thinking about suggesting we grab lunch as school holidays with a severe ASD ds are challenging and it may be the last grown up time we get for nearly 7 weeks! Or I may let dd have her choice of take a way to celebrate - or maybe both!!!

Quality · 23/07/2010 21:58

Evening all, have been slacking and haven't weighed today but I have done shred last 2 mornings before breakfast and ache more than have before so I think doing it first thing when I am mindless zombie is working
11 weeks until my sisters wedding when I have to wear something incredibly slutty purely to piss her off
I did want to be 14 stone but that will be 21 lbs in 11 weeks. Doable possibly but over summer holidays? hmm...... we shall see..

Undertone · 25/07/2010 16:15

Cripes! Come on zoners!

Quality - which bit of the Shred are you on? I've been doing level 1 every few days mixing it up with running/cross trainer. I've done it 9 times so far. i fancied a bit of a challenge this morning so went up to level 2 and MY GOD!! It's a totally different ball game!

I was so proud of myself the other day when I did level 1 and then went on x trainer straight after for 30 mins. I thought I was getting quite fit. This level 2 - I HAD to pause it a couple of times becaue I was gasping so badly. Not sure my 'form' was very good either, as I was flapping about a bit trying to keep up. Maybe I should play it at 0.75 speed or something just to start with??

I'm not sure if I feel demotivated - I mean - I was SO crap at it, and I was so out of puff and exhausted. I'm not looking forward to doing it again. I will, though - maybe it will be better if I know what's coming?

dinkystinky · 25/07/2010 18:26

Undertone - level 2 of shred is really hard - and I exercise a lot and find it hard. But its meant to be to really challenge your body so keep at it - and eventually you'll get bored of it too and then be ready to go up to level 3. You should feel out of puff and exhausted when you do a new shred work out - that way you know you're giving it your all and it is working.

Quality · 25/07/2010 19:04

I did level 2 today, have been spurred on by my mum getting into a pair of size 16 trousers for the first time in years!
I went to a clothes swap last night and got massive score. I had 19 'tokens' from the clothes I had donated and I got
1 pair smart 18 trousers
2 pairs smart 16 trouasers
1 pair 18 combats
1 pair 16 jeans
3 16/18 smart jumpers
2 18 tops
3 size 16 smart tops/wraps and
a pair of really pretty blue beaded shoes!

The 16 tops fit just, the 16 bottoms won't go on at all, so incentive, and for no outlay, sweet.

What is going on with everyone are we all slacking badly? Although Buda is excused as she's in the uk.

Anyway, for anyone still here today was
Shred before breakfast
Alpen, banana and coffee for brek
salmon salad for lunch
scotch egg (it's all protein, innit)
sausages and stir fry for tea. last minute meal change as the chicken hadn't defrosted!

dinkystinky · 26/07/2010 08:58

ok - period is now here. Biffing has stopped. Am now going hardcore for the next 2 weeks as is 2 weeks to my holiday. Who is going to join me?

Exercise every day (even if it is just 20 minutes run or something - must do it). 2 litres of water a day. 3 meals a day. Fruit only for snacks between meals and only if starving hungry. And post on here religiously at the end of the day what you've eaten so people can yell at you if need be.

COME ON BIFFERS - WE NEED TO MAN UP AND TACKLE THAT LARD. IF WE DONT DO IT, NO ONE WILL.

Undertone · 26/07/2010 09:32

I'M WITH YOU DINKY!!

Roar! Let's go hardcore!

Have started well today - just me 'bix and a green tea so far.

(well done on the haul, Quality).
