i'm horrified to find I have put on 1 stone 7 lb in the last year.

horrified.

So, back to Weight Watchers I go.

I weigh in at 13 stone 8 (horror) and am taking it one day at a time with 21 pooints a day.

Mushrooms cooked in frylight are my life saver.

I weigh about three times a day - must get F to hide the scales as it really isn't helping!

AlCrowley · 08/07/2010 20:03

I weighed today too

On the plus side, I'd lost a bit

shinyblackgrape · 08/07/2010 20:06

That's good Al! My pathalogical weighing harks back to my (nightmare) days of the doing the Cambridge Diet. Not advocating it at all but it was fun to watch the scales go down every day! However, probably showed how unsustainable it was!

OverflowingMum · 08/07/2010 20:44

thanks for the chocloate tips ladies, great ideas!
I agree about the ww stuff being expensive. and a lot of it not nessecary. Morrisons Eat Smart rangealso has ww points on and is cheaper than the ww stuff (have only bought the suasages!)
Have bought some yummy looking ww frozen brownie desert things though for a treat tomorrow night....
Tonight I am feeling quite bloated...not good as going to do WI tomorrow instead of Sat, as tomorrow is DH bday so will involve wine and some treats I've saved points for...not good food for evening before WI...
did a silly thing and had a sneaky peak on Weds and had gained!!was gutted, but rationalising could be a lot of things,AF, my body adjustig to diet, much more excercise than usual...so trying to remain calm about possibly dissaapointing WI tomorrow...but may be back moaning LOL!
Now just need to solve this bloating overnight....

I'm back to WW after two pathetic weeks at the beg of the year.

I've had 2 days only on 18 points and have done pretty badly. Day 1 I did about 21 points and today it's more like 25! But it was a day of chaos, sickness, stress and crabby children. I am amazed at how strong my habit is to comfort eat when stressed.
Also I spend so much of my life in the kitchen preparing food...... excuse excuse excuse.

And all this bollox about 'feeling full'. It'll take a damn size more than these god forsaken 18 points to make me feel full.

But is this common? Surely I don't have enough will power to do this !!

I agree SGM with the vegetables thing. I had chicken kebabs today with a frankly skimpy amount of chicken, but didn't really feel deprived because they were full of rosemary and ginger stir fried courgettes!

Weigh in tomorrow

Hello all. I also definitely agree that vegetables are a key weapon in bulking things out and making you feel virtuous and full. Am farting like a trooper these days though.

Have namechanged back by the way, 'tis Vuvu here (I think my World Cup name was more memorable than my usual name so am feeling rather invisible today). As for weigh-in news: I had lost 1.9 lbs when I weighed on Sunday, which I delightedly recorded and got a star (total loss 8lb-odd). However, I then stepped back on the scales two hours later just to feel the happy feeling again, and I was up by 1.5 lbs on the earlier weight!

Our scales are new and decent quality with new batteries, so I think they are reliable; I hadn't eaten a meal in between though, so am really baffled by such a massive and quick fluctuation. And the earlier lower weight wasn't a mistake; I got on and off the scale loads of times to triple-check it because I was so pleased. Boo.

Anyway, have left the original weight to stand but am now really demotivated this week because I assume I will definitely show a gain or, at the very best, no change. Have therefore gone off the rails a bit, ate two big slices of toast and butter last night after a long day of toddler/baby wrangling and squawky evening feeds with DD. I totally took refuge in comfort food and felt crap about it afterwards. And now I'm craving more toast. Bah!

OK, sorry, rant over, pulling up socks.

Anyway, congratulations to those of you who've had losses and hello to the new people

LittleMisscantbewrong · 13/07/2010 13:38

Hello people - have skim read but would love to join in for some moral support/recipe ideas.

My dd2 is 23 weeks old now and I still weigh the same as the day I had her

I have all the books so am doing it at home, my weigh in day is Saturday.

I'm aiming to lose 50lbs - a nice round figure (like mine!) :O

I thought if I work hard I should be able to shift the majority of that by Christmas. My dd is FF now so I'm on 22 points a day.

colditz · 13/07/2010 16:22

I had my weigh in today, which after this weekend's falling off the wagon, was scaring me a bit.

2lb off.

WOO!

Now 13 stone 3 lb and dropping.

A point of advice, if you end up being dragged to KFC by greedy little boys when you're hungry, have a couple of corn on the cobs and a pepsi max. It takes long enbough to eat to stop you feeling miserable and is actually a tasty snack.

OP posts:
colditz · 13/07/2010 16:24

AND oh my god.

I had a skinless chicken thigh done in frylight and rosemary, with chunks of courgette, a dollop of Low fat cream cheese with some mint sauce mixed in, and stuffed it in a pitta bread.

Chicken kebab, innit?

YUM! It's delicious.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 13/07/2010 19:15

oh that does sound extremely nice.

AlCrowley · 13/07/2010 21:09

Forgot to weigh in here yesterday! Lost 0.4kgs. Bit disappointed cause last week it was 1.4 but at least it's a loss.

Discovery of the day was that fajitas made with just 1 chicken breast between 3 of us and a tonne of mushrooms to bulk them out taste just as good. The mushrooms really absorb the flavour so you don't miss the meat (and the points) at all Might ditch the chicken all together next time!

Really fancy the chicken kebabs now too...

LittleMisscantbewrong · 14/07/2010 11:39

I've bought some of those Total 0% yogurt tubs as they are only 1 point each and really creamy. With some strawberries and honey I don't feel I'm missing out on pudding!

Scout BBQ tonight - if I had one of the burgers in a bun how many points do you think I should allow?

I've been trying to walk more every day too

colditz - that kebab sounds lovely, will try that.

Diaduitpuisin · 14/07/2010 17:01

Who hoo - lost 1lb this week bringing me up to 7lbs Got my Silver Seven. Turned puce when the leader decided to wait until during the meeting to give it to me. Life is good!

colditz · 15/07/2010 00:46

Well done! Are you the first slver seven on this thread?

OP posts:
AlCrowley · 15/07/2010 09:18

I got mine on the 21st June. Same day I got my 5%

Found a 5 point pasta recipe last night - really tasty - would anyone like it?

AlCrowley · 15/07/2010 09:20

I didn't join the thread till the 23rd though so Diaduitpuisin is the first one for the thread. Well done

pinkgrapefruitjuice · 15/07/2010 09:21

Just marking my place for after Ive had this baby (did WW last time and lost all babyweight in 4 or 5 months

rosieposey · 15/07/2010 11:35

Hello ladies Can i join you? Ive been plucking up the courage to join and get started, i did last night at 6pm. Luckily i knew how much i weighed so it wasnt too much of a shock but i have soooo much to loose. 6.5 stone in all

I have 24 points but am trying to stick to around 20ish a day (if i can) so that i can save some for a random bottle of wine or takeaway at the weekends if i feel like it. The consultant recommended doing the quick start 18 points but im not sure i can - will see how i get on later in the week.

Only on day two and literally cant wait for next Wednesday's weigh in as really need the motivation. I have type 2 diabetes and have a BMI of 39 so qualify for weight loss surgery according to my GP but i cant bear the thought of going through that and i do love my food so would rather do it slowly and sensibly.

Ok will have a read through of the previous pages - well done on the weight losses so far Hopefully that will be me soon enough!

colditz · 15/07/2010 17:04

Oh Rosieposey you're going to do SO well here, I feel it in my bones. My weight watcher's threads ALWAYS have good losers on!

ALCrowley - yes please, I like pasta recipes. Is it filling?

OP posts:
Ceolas · 15/07/2010 22:10

Hiya - don't mind if I join you ladies? Joined ww tonight. Can't wait to shift a few lbs. Have about 5st to lose altogether but taking it a day at a time

LittleMisscantbewrong · 16/07/2010 07:39

Great to read about how well people are doing, and also that some other people have a lot to lose. I feel embarassed in rl telling people that I have 50 pounds to lose but on here it's fine.

First weigh in tomorrow morning so should curb my tendency to Friday night excess!
