i'm horrified to find I have put on 1 stone 7 lb in the last year.

horrified.

So, back to Weight Watchers I go.

I weigh in at 13 stone 8 (horror) and am taking it one day at a time with 21 pooints a day.

Mushrooms cooked in frylight are my life saver.

hello ... I had my weigh in today and I've lost 3lbs, now weighing in at 13 stone 5 lbs.

Tonight I will be making chicken and spinach curry with potato wedges, which will be about 6 points.

YUM!

I really need to go showing, is anyone else finding that they are thrashing through the vegetables? Not a bad thing, I suppose.

StewiegriffinsMom - You WIll stick to it because if I have to diet, so does everyone else. ``

colditz - I hate you! Well done!

I seem to have managed to have lost my 2lbs weekend gain so back to the beginning. Off to the gym tonight though.

I am going out for dinner twice this weekend and to a BBQ on Sunday which I am dreading but going to try and limit the drink and stick to lean protein - famous last words!

Quick question - I am managing to save up my activity points quite well so that should help me at the weekend. However, I am a bit suspicious in that I walk to and from the tram each day - 40 mins of walking and that gives me another 2 points?! That seems quite a lot even though I am a chubster delux at the moment. Is anyone else eating all their activity points and no adverse weight gain?

I've stuck to my points today, even saving 1 and have been for a 2.5k run so feeling like I'm doing OK.

It is only Tuesday though!

colditz · 06/07/2010 22:26

A pound off is a pound that isn't stuck to your bum any more.

My friend's husband takes her to Morrisons's after her meetings if she's whining about a half pound loss, and shows her half a pound of lard

That's a good way to look at it Colditz.

When I emailed DH on Monday morning to tell him about my loss, I said "you now have 1.4kgs less wife"

Hello! Can I join in as I am feeling in need of some company and support doing ww online?

I am bfing a 12 week old and joined ww 5 weeks ago when I realised my weight loss post birth had levelled off and I was left with a stone of baby flab to shift.

So far I have managed to lose 6lb but did have a period of 2 weeks where I fell off the wagon after some sleepless nights and managed to put 2 lb back on. So currently have 10 lb to go to get back to my pre pregnancy weight of 9 lb 7 although ww keep telling me I should be aiming for 8lb 10!(I am a curvy 5ft 2)

I am back to tracking points (have a very generous 29 that I seem to have no problem using up) and this week I have also started some very gentle jogging again. I was quite a keen runner before getting pregnant and have been doing my post natal exercise DVDS since I got the all clear from the doctor to start the long journey back to fitness.

I am finding it hard to resist temptation alone at home on mat leave so I am hoping have to declare my weight loss or not each week will keep me motivated.

OverflowingMum · 07/07/2010 14:28

helloo all
Can I join you?
I signed up to ww on-line last Mon, and on first weigh in day on Sat I'd lsot 3 lb,yay!
Have been sticking to my points this week, and have started increasing my excercise, so fingers crossed for another loss on Sat.
Mind you I have AF today and feeling a bit grim and bloaty and in need of chocolate...but will resist!
Great to hear so many of you doing well. Keep it up everyone!

colditz · 07/07/2010 15:05

OFmum - nice to see you here.

A good chocolate fix is low fat hot chocolate drinks. I think they are 0.5 to 1 point each.

colditz · 07/07/2010 15:07

By the way, if you're very hungry, a 400g punnet of strawberries is 1.5 points and very filling!

About to get ready to head out to my meeting in a few minutes. I'll post on how I've done. Wish me luck. I've had an interesting week food wise including 2 surprise dinners out and an unexpected lunch.

OverflowingMum - if you fancy need choc (AF arriving to me this week so I completely understand) the bars I mentioned above give a nice chocolate hit without being to bad. Either that or you can get little Ritter Sport bars in a box in Aldi (12 of them I think) and the small bars in the collection I got (Ritter Sport Mini Assortment of the Year - has lovely white chocolate bar - heaven) only are 2 points each.

queenceleste · 07/07/2010 15:21

Can I join too?
I've just gone back after starting and only lasting two weeks in february! Lost 4 lbs in first week and gained 3.5 lbs in the second. Very soul destroying.
Got quite told off as well today. Oh well!!
I have to put the shopping away.. let's see how I do

Diaduitpuisin · 07/07/2010 17:18

Just back. Happily surprised that I lost 2lbs but a bit miffed. If it had been 3 I'd have gotten my first Silver 7. Ah well. I'm still so happy with 2lbs. Onwards and upwards.

colditz · 07/07/2010 17:46

2lbs is a fantastic loss. Well done!

shinyblackgrape · 07/07/2010 17:48

Excellent - well done!

Diaduitpuisin · 07/07/2010 18:06

Thank you. I'm down to 12.12 now. I'm really happy about it. Now, to make sure I get to my goal of 9st 9.5lbs. I'm only 5ft 3 so any extra weight really shows on me.

chocolatespiders · 07/07/2010 20:26

I really need this thread... I am addicted to food but i find the ww points quite good to follow. and i try to have the most ammount of food for my points..

As a lone parent i cant justify the money for a meeting but thinking of weighing in every friday at a boots..

i love soup so maybe should try the low point ww ones

colditz · 07/07/2010 23:58

The WW food is generally expensive. buy a tin of tomatoes and chuck in some salt and pepper, then blend it.

You'll need some scales to weigh your food with.

Can I ask what people thing about the meetings? I

went to two and thought they were rubbish. Disclaimer - I am now going to say something offensive, the reason being that they just seemed to be full of very, very fat people making excuses for why they hadn't lost weight, why the couldn't stick to the diet etc, why the portions that the leader was showing were "too small"......

I am currently doing online but do wonder if I would be better with at least attending the weigh-in but not waiting for the meeting. I am currently weight myself every day and fluctuating up and down by about a pound. The find I can't remember what I weighed when I weighed myself last week etc...

colditz · 08/07/2010 14:02

i find that because my meetings are on a market day morning, they are full of little old ladies who are only 8 lb overweight but still get fuck all to eat because they're old so they are on about 16 points a day! Depressing.

IF you can cook and you can count and you can afford to buy vegetables, you can do it yourself. you don't need the ready meals - you need to know that 20 dry grams of pasta, rice, instant mash or plain noodles is 1 point. 100g of raw potato is 1 point. 1 egg is 1.5 points. Skinless roast chicken breast is 0.5 points per 30g. Peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, butternut squash, carrots, spinach - all these filling tasty things are no points at all. Cheese, chocolate, mayonaise and butter are so high in points that it's work simply finding something else to eat or you are going to be HUNGRY.

Armed with that knowledge, you can make weight watchers work VERY well for you.

that said, DO go to the weigh ins because it is a good motivator to PAY for that weigh in and have someone else watching you.

OP posts:
colditz · 08/07/2010 14:04

On the subject of price - well, how much do you think your figure is worth? I have 3 stone to lose before I can say I am at a healthy weight. That's 46lb - times five pounds per weigh in, for a loss of 1 lb a week, that's about £250.

Would I pay £250 to have a good figure and a healthier weight? To drop 3 clothes sizes and be in a size 10?

I'd pay 10 times that, to be honest. but you can't do it instantly, so weight watchers, for me, is the next best thing.

OP posts:
chocolatespiders · 08/07/2010 17:18

colditz you talk sense

The soup i meant was the zero point one that you can make up> if anyone could link to the recipe i would be grateful

I have soup everyday at work for lunch but currently make sweet potatoe and red onion with cumin which is probably not low point.

Today i feel great although i weighed myself this morning which was not great at 15.12 but it is the start of the journey and things can only get better.... what did i expect after eating 2 giant bags of crisps over the last 2 nights...

i find the points calculater paper thing a god send

how is everyone today?

amimagic · 08/07/2010 18:15

Colditz, brilliant advice and congrats everyone so far.

My weigh in day today, and I have lost 3 lb this week! Very pleased! Especially since I hadn't lost a thing on Monday (I know you're not supposed to weigh midweek but can't resist). 12st something for the first time in a long time.

I have used barbie's helpful salad potatoes tip, and VuVu's stir fry this week - all have helped.

Depressed about the little old ladies though......

Diaduitpuisin · 08/07/2010 18:37

amimagic - I thought I was the only one who did a sneaky midweek weigh.
