i found thsi book really useful in teh past to help understand emotional eating. there is a great bit in it where he describes teh click moment where you go from having self control to standing over teh toaster eating buttered bread while waiting for your toast to pop!

bobbiewickham · 25/05/2010 15:42

Dinky, that's great!

I've read that book, BO! Will read it again, might be more relevant now.

Thanks all.

dinkystinky · 25/05/2010 16:19

Hope it put a smile on your face Bobs. If it didnt, imagine me as a shetland pony again and am sure that will amuse you.

Undertone · 25/05/2010 16:22

This thread is mad. In a very comforting, supportive and soothing way.

dinkystinky · 25/05/2010 17:00

Its the calorie deprivation Undertone - it does strange things to you...

120 · 25/05/2010 17:01

BO can you quote it so I don't have to buy the book? [pleading emoticon]

JackBauer · 25/05/2010 17:07

Wilf, that sounds good. I forgot to eat my sup Have roasted veg and some bollocknaise for tea.

I nearly scarfed some chocolate buttons earlier but put them back in the fridge and had some of DD2's rejected purple ellas kithcne smoothie thing, bleurgh, is soooo gross. Made me not want to eat for a few hours though as I felt sick

bobs, at least you knwo what is doing it so maybe are ina stronger position to make a decision not to biff?
Am weak with hunger, cant takl properly, ttfn

cornsilkcottagecheese · 25/05/2010 17:23

I have has weetabix for breakfast, bananas and brazil nuts for lunch, omelette for tea and a solero. Still hungry.Have gone off omelette now I think. I could kind of see my rib cage today if I contorted a certain way.

Undertone · 25/05/2010 17:32

I did that, cornsilk. I stood in front of the mirror and just on the extreme of the most extreme stretch I could possibly manage without rupturing myself I thought I could see a lump above my belly button to the left which could be the bottom of my rib cage. Knowing how sneaky my flab is, it may just be a roll of biff with a particularly nasty sense of humour.

Well done, you! Don't mind me rambling on.

In other news: has anyone tried that tip about putting a full-length mirror next to the fridge?

cornsilkcottagecheese · 25/05/2010 17:38

LOL yes it was a bit of an extreme contortion but made me feel better.

cyb · 25/05/2010 17:42

whatever it takes ladies, whatever it takes

cornsilkcottagecheese · 25/05/2010 18:03

BariatricObama · 25/05/2010 18:34

this week i am mostly eating from nigel slater's kitchen diaries. potatoless fish cakes last night were excellent. if you can ignore all the fornicating with armfuls of dill and asparagus i think it is my fav cook book.

DottyDot · 25/05/2010 18:36

blimey I can't keep up with this thread - the bastards IT department at work has banned MN!

But hurrah - am in size 18 jeans for the first time in a while..!

Still writing down what I eat and jumping around the place of an evening. Weigh in on Friday...

Aitch · 25/05/2010 18:44

well done dotty, it's such an achievement when you move down a size, isn't it?

TotalChaos · 25/05/2010 18:44

Hello. Foodwise is fine, exercise a bit lacking. I'm trying out Biggest Loser on Wii but am a bit frustrated - despite it being knackering it burns up bog all calories. Think I may have to face up to taking up running...

currently 2 stone 3 down, 2 stone 9 to go. which is a bit boring....

cornsilkcottagecheese · 25/05/2010 19:21

Wow some really impressive weightloss on here. Wish I'd weighed myself when I started now!

cyb · 25/05/2010 19:28

BO yes Nigel Slater cook book is great. He seems to live on meat and veg or salad, hardly any pasta or potatoes or whatever. He has lost loads of weight in the past few years too. I read that book as a ...well a book really.

cornsilkcottagecheese · 25/05/2010 19:29

I'll have to get that - sounds good.

YoginiBikini · 25/05/2010 20:00
