BudaisintheZONE · 28/04/2010 05:44

Morning all from a fresh and sunny morning in Budapest!

The washing I had to take in out of the rain yesterday is now back out on the line and the washing I did last night is also out on the line and first load of today is on. DH is looking at me like this : and . Cleaner/ironing lady is in today so need the washing dry. Was asleep just after 10 last night so woke up at 6 fresh as a daisy! Well. Sort of.

Dog arrived back last night after her extended stay with girl who looks after her when we are away. She is very thin. (No treats and lots of exercise there.) I suggested to DH that maybe I should go there for a few weeks. He looked at me very seriously and said a few months would be more like it. Cheek!

Aitch - the REAL Colin & Justin??? Wow. BTW meant to say congrats on Round-Up job! Spotted Justine's thread about MP hanging up her pen when I was home but never got to read it and post.

Su - why drink on empty stomach? I would feel effects quicker and all willpower would disappear quicker than you could say "Another?".

Dinner last night was chicken fajitas. Only one tortilla. Then had some more of the chicken and peppers. Then DH picked out chicken and left the peppers and I had those. Tablespoon of sour cream. No cheese.

ZoneArmatrading · 28/04/2010 06:10

Congrats to Geordie and Bobbie on career advancement.

Fridge making groaning noise. Will need to defrost. Must make sure this is not just a ruse to eat Curly Fries for breakfast because 'they need eating now'

Bit up against it with work. That and above will require double dedication.

ZoneArmatrading · 28/04/2010 06:11

Big up to everyone getting noticed for being slenderer. Happened to me at last and I was thrilled.

dinkystinky · 28/04/2010 08:43

Lol at Aitch and her sleb mates popping round for baked goods... Hurrah on Bobbie's placement (do not stress Bobs - you'll be brilliant) and hurrah for bieng complimented on being svelte ZoneArmatrading.

Coco - what course are you doing? I could not study nowadays - rather suspect that since having kids my ability to concentrate on one subject for more than 30 seconds, without having to turn around to make sure little people arent wrecking the joint/starting WW III/getting stuck in improbable places, has now gone for good...

I NEED someone to yell at me for being a fat buffer and to step away from the bedsize inducing food. Have now biffed 3 days in a row (DH and I ended up having to go through house-renovation plans last night for 2 hours and had to have red wine, stinky cheese and bread to get me through it). HELP!

BudaisintheZONE · 28/04/2010 09:00

dinkystinky! Bad girl. Did it make you happy? Will it make you happy when you next stand on the scales and wonder why you gained instead of losing??????? Fat Biffer!!!!!!

Can understand why though! We will be doing the same soon and I know it will be traumatic! I have very clear ideas what I want with our new house. Unfortunately so does DH!

dinkystinky · 28/04/2010 09:14

Thanks Buda - and I needed that telling off. I had to biff to get through the trauma as had to keep reminding DH that (a) we live in a bloody terrace house, not a mansion so he cant have x, y and z and (b) the really important thing as far as I am concerned is more storage than you can possibly imagine everywhere (we have virtually none at the moment downstairs and kids toys exploding out our ears). I suspect we're going to have a lot more arguments over stuff like that over the next 8 months...

No - hasnt made me happy, has made me feel like a fat porker. Determined to be back on track today and sticking to 18 WW points to do penance - had skinny latte, porridge and a milky way (only 1.5 WW points and PLANNED for) for breakfast, lunch will be a soup and dinner will be salad and chicken - and will be doing bodypump at lunch time and boxing with PT tonight so WILL get back on track.

dinkystinky · 28/04/2010 09:15

And its all Bloody DH's fault I biffed as I didnt buy any of the biffing food - he did for DS1's party and massively overcatered (as he is wont to do) so our house is full of biffer food. Think am going to make him take it to him with work to offload on the gannets there (mostly male colleagues - food disappears in a matter of seconds).

CheeeseOnToast · 28/04/2010 09:39

Well done all those who've been told they look slimmer

No one has said that to me yet. But I know I look slimmer... at least I feel slimmer and my clothes fit much better. Might do a spot of shopping this afternoon.

Feel like my food was ok last night. Didn't even snack after I'd had the vino.

I found some slim fasts in the cupboard this morning, so I'll have one of those for lunch - which I find really fill me up and stop biff-related snackage. Then will stick with salad (snooze) for dinner. Think I might roast some chicken to go with it. I might try and hunt down that recipe - was it Cyb, Aitch or Su's? - for garlic lemon chicken dressing?

Glorious day here, we're having estate agents round to value the flat today so everyone keep your fingers crossed that it's worth more than we spent on it

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/04/2010 10:00

Wow look at you all, I barely recognise any of you anymore, especially you cheese.

Aitch you are such a name dropper. Did you know the boys before you became MN famous? Do they replump cushions and snurk at your art when they come over?

When's the party cyb? We are partying here at the house on Sat for my birthday, marquee in the garden, dj in the sitting room, torrential rain and power cuts all round.

dinkystinky · 28/04/2010 10:07

Cyb - for make up, I'd say no to fake lashes unless you have non-existent lashes at present. You just know one of the buggers is going to fall off into your drink at the most inopportune moment...

dinkystinky · 28/04/2010 10:08

Cheese - good luck with flat valuation. Apparently London has been the most robust housing market so fingers crossed you'll get a good valuation. And I bet you look slimmer and full of health and vitality.

BudaisintheZONE · 28/04/2010 10:10

dinkystinky - it's so hard when the house is full of food like that - I hate it going to waste. Sending it in to office good plan.

Cheese - good luck with flat valuation! And if you find the recipe can you post it again here please?

I have been clearing out my wardrobe and trying to put away winter stuff and get out summer stuff. I have SO many clothes! Soul destroying thing is I found a few things that I wore when we moved here nearly 6 years ago and I was a size 18 then. Had lost almost 2 stone on Atkins. Put it all back of course and went up to a 22-24. Am now a 20 in some things and 22 in others.

So the million dollar question is - how much of these clothes do I hang on to!!! Have a few pairs of wide-leg linen trousers - they seem to be around every summer don't they?

And - how many white shirts in various styles do I actually need? I seem to have around 6!

Am very in the Zone today. Granola with strawberries and skim milk for breakfast. Am on third glass of water. Just had mid morning snack of 2 oatcakes and a banana. Am still hungry though. Bit of protein needed I think.

YoginiBikini · 28/04/2010 11:06

I am zoning with a spring in my step. Hopefully it will last all day

You can never have too many linen trousers and white shirts Buda. You're not far off getting back into your 18's now then either. Are you just cutting back and eating less this time round? You're so much more likely to keep it off this time if you are.

I have some gorgeous navy linen trousers on today that I love love love until I've had them on for a couple of hours and then i have to spend the rest of the day hitching them up. Not a stylish look! I must put them in a bin bag

CheeeseOnToast · 28/04/2010 11:17

ah dinky, you remembered I'm in London! Well, had two agents round already, and my word. They were both bowled over by the finish on our flat (which we did ourselves ) and the valuations are very very good indeed! Woo! Celebrations tonight! And the hunt for a three bed house begins...! I'm so excited!!! Great news.

I've found this recipe:

This from reshape:

I've been doing chicken legs roasted on top of mixed veg - peppers, courgettes, onions etc - with a good drizzle of a mix of lemon juice, white wine and honey. YOu could oil the bottom of the roasting pan beforehand to stop it sticking but you don't actually need any oil on top. Really nice (if you like lemony things!).

That's all I could find. Hmm. Might whip something up myself, I have some thyme growing outside and might marinade with some garlic, thyme, splash of lemon, should be enough to make it delicious.

Buda - I would hang on to as much as possible if you have the room. White shirts in a variety of styles are always good to have - even if you don't wear them out they are good cover-ups on the beach in summer or in the park on a lazy sunday. But then I have hardly any clothes at all after a frenzied throwing-away session that I regret immensely!!

I would chuck the stuff that's way too big - you'll never need it again.

BudaisintheZONE · 28/04/2010 11:36

Yogini - wish I felt I wasn't that far off the 18s. I have a way to go I think. This time am not dieting. Am just not eating crap. No white flour or sugar. Cuts out a lot of crap! Eating low gi really. No carbs other than porridge/granola/ fruit and veg. Eating if and when hungry but sensible stuff.

Cheese - thanks for recipe - that's the one I remember noticing and not being able to find again! Great news on flat valuation! Good luck with the house hunting. Are you looking in same area you are in now? And I so wish I had stuff that was far too big. Not yet unfortunately. Am hoping though that next winter when i get all my winter clothes out that none of it will fit as it will be too big.

dinkystinky · 28/04/2010 11:43

Hurrah for great flat valuations. FWIW Cheese, I'd try to get your flat on the market first and get some offers in before you go househunting - we lost out on so many places we loved because our flat wasnt under offer when we put in bids on houses (and the sellers all had kids and wanted to move in the summer holidays so had set timetables we would have to have adhered to). Good luck with the house hunting though - whereaboutsare you looking?

Buda - that stuff WILL be too big for you one day soon. Stay in the zone my friend.

Yogini - well done for zoning it. I need to follow your example. Know what you mean about magically enlarging trousers that keep slipping down- v annoying

CheeeseOnToast · 28/04/2010 12:00

We're in London, fairly central (Shoreditch, so by Liv Street/Old Street). We'll be looking slightly further out - maybe some cheaper areas of Stoke Newington or Dalston, Homerton or Clapton, so maybe half a mile or so further out of town. For what we've been told we could get for our place (two bed, ex local flat) we could get a 3 bed house with a garden just that bit further out. If we play our cards right.

Although, DP wants to buy some land on which to build a house, so we might do some serious research into that first of all. We're not desperate to move, we can stay here for a few more years yet and what with the job situation (I'm out of work and DP has just been made redundant) it's not the best time really!! We have insurance up to our eyeballs though so financially it'll be completely fine, but in the eyes of the mortgage company we need to be in employment to move)

BudaisintheZONE · 28/04/2010 12:14

Nah to too much info! You are a figment of our imaginations after all!

It could be interesting to buy land and build yourselves. Would you be doing that in London too? Whatever happens - good luck with it all.

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/04/2010 12:20

Good luck with all Cheese.

CheeeseOnToast · 28/04/2010 12:23

Just words on a screen. I doubt we could find land in London so will start looking Essex way (where I'm from originally) or Kent (where DP is from). Cheers for the good luck

Had some chilled grapes for a mid-morning snackage. I love them, I think I'm in danger of actually turning into a grape.

Chicken thighs in the fridge marinating in thyme, bashed garlic cloves and drizzle of lemon and olive oil. MMmmmmm.

CheeeseOnToast · 28/04/2010 12:24

Ooh master you used to live in Dalston!? Whereabouts!!

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/04/2010 12:33

Round the corner from London Fields, two minutes from that pub, whatsits name, Inn on the Field? No Pub in the Park

CheeeseOnToast · 28/04/2010 12:59

Ah, about five mins walk from me then Love London Fields. It's super expensive there now. Ridiculously so.

Right, off for a walk into town. I've planned in a run for later. Need to tone up my wobbly thighs and dimply bum
