woohoo, another 1 lb off today(official weigh-in day), having pizza with the kids tonight as we have had a long busy day at a charity car boot sale

kid · 16/05/2010 18:45

I hate Sundays, worst day to diet especially if you have guests for dinner. Oh well, today was day 4, let's hope the rest of the week is as good as my first 3 days were

IzziesMummy · 16/05/2010 23:21

4th weigh-in for me tomorrow. Fingers crossed I'm still losing weight.

Went clothes shopping today to get some ideas for something to wear for my sons christening on 6th June and think I can start to see the difference. Actually bought a couple of dresses to try on again at home, which makes a change for me, as I haven't liked buying new clothes for ages!

Did actually really like a dress in monsoon, but at £95 I decided not to buy it, as hopefully the size 18 will be too big for me soon!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

kid - I know what you mean about Sunday's being hard - you just want a proper good old roast dinner followed by pudding!

mummytotwins · 16/05/2010 23:57

I have my 4th wi tomorrow too izziesmummy I gained a pound last week even though I was really goos so hoping it shows tomorrow!!

Caved and had a mars bar today, but it was within my points so not too bad!!!

good luck everyone

Riapentatleisure · 17/05/2010 09:46

I weigh in on Sundays because of the "dangers" - roast at mums, picnic lunches, "Lewis and takeaway" nights etc, so it can be my weekly treat day! The only trouble then is Mondays when there are treat leftovers

good luck with the week and the weigh-ins

IzziesMummy · 17/05/2010 18:19

Another pound gone today! Now lost 11 and a half. Would really like to lose the 1st stone by 6th June, so need to be good for the next 2 weeks.

Hope everyone has a good week

Riapentatleisure · 17/05/2010 22:43

well done Izzies

kid · 18/05/2010 17:54

I haven't even had my first WI yet (doing it at home on my own) but I have been having sneaky peeks at the scales. I have to say, I don't like the scales very much.

I have lost some of my waist though as my belt is on a tighter hole. So, I assume I just have stupid scales that deliberately lie to me. Maybe they are trying to tempt me to the smartie ice cream we have in the freezer? Two tubs of it I should add, which I have resisted for over a week.

kid · 18/05/2010 17:56

Well done Izzies, you are doing great

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2010 19:35

lost 2 lbs last week

kid-weight goes up and down through out the week, so may say you have gained/lost but not a true weight

always weight at same time and day if possible

IzziesMummy · 24/05/2010 19:15

Am so chuffed! Lost 2 and a half pounds this week, so have now reached my first stone

Only another 5 to go!

Hope everyone else is doing ok and that the BBQ weather hasn't meant too many gains!!

kid · 26/05/2010 21:10

I still don't feel I am doing well on WW but I want to give it a chance.

I was very good tonight. Was at my parents and everyone had ordered pizza. There were 6 large pizzas just crying out for me to eat them. I hadn't had any dinner yet so was really hungry. I did eat 1 slice so although I had some, I felt I did well not to eat loads more.

Today has been a good day. I hope I can have many more good days.

SandyChick · 26/05/2010 22:15

Hi, am starting ww again. I have a stone to lose. I've put a stone on since Xmas as i've done zero exercise and too many chocolate biscuits!

Have started swimming agan 3 times a week. Was ideally trying not to 'diet' and just eat a balance diet but I need a kick start. Have a wedding in 4 weeks so I'd really like to get half a stone off by then.

Is anyone on 21 points per day?

I have a ww cookbook etc but am finding it really hard with a toddler and a husband to cook for. Ideally I'd like to bach cook some low point meals to freeze for me. Anyone have any low cal recipes?

ouryve · 27/05/2010 16:00

I started on 21 points, this time around, but now I'm close to goal, I'm down to 19, which is hard some weeks, even with miles and miles of pushing the buggy around!

For the family, you could make spag bol with extra lean mince and lots of veg - or even use turkey mince. Chillis (or rather non-chilli for the kids!) go down well and the beans add veg and provide some of the protein - serve with rice, a squeeze of lime and some natural yoghurt instead of being tempted to smother it with cheese. Lean roasts aren't too points heavy - serve with new or baked potatoes instead of roasties.

It's not batch cooking, but i's quick - layer up good quality ready made pasta sauce with some white fish - pollack works well and is really cheap, top with breadcrumbs and cheese (a little strong cheese goes a long way) and some fresh herbs if you're feeling fancy and bake it until the fish is cooked through.

notnearlyasblondasiwas · 27/05/2010 21:15

Hi can I join you please? I started WW at the end of Jan and did really well for a while, lost 15.5 lbs, but have put on all but 7lbs again. I started again on Tuesday and I want to loose 3 stones. I am feeling pretty motivated now and am having a good week so far. I have started running again and am hoping to loose 28lbs by the 6 Sep which is when I am going back to work. Am off to read the rest of the thread for tips now!

kid · 28/05/2010 16:03

I started WW 2 weeks ago and lost a measly 2lb so far.
After receiving some tragic news yesterday that our puppy died during a routine operation (neutering) I have been unable to eat. My last meal was breakfast yesterday and I just can not bring myself to eat, I feel physically sick and unable to do anything.

So, this diet is out the window for now but I do aim to get back to it just as soon as I can sort my feelings out. Grief is an awful thing , I miss my baby so, so much.

SandyChick · 28/05/2010 18:05

Does anyone know how many points for 50 mins of swimming? I'd say moderate to be on safe side. Thanks.

ouryve · 28/05/2010 19:35

kid - sorry about your puppy

Sandychick, it depends to your weight, too. I'm 9st7 and it gave me 2 points when I plugged it into the online activity tracker thing.

kid · 29/05/2010 13:00

I weighed myself this morning, just out of curiousity. I have lost 7lb since my darling puppy died. I know I have to eat eventually, but loss of appetite and sickness must be a symptom of grieving and shock.
DH is home looking after me for the next 4 days. I haven't been able to leave the house or take any phonecalls yet.

If I could have my baby dog back, I'd happily accept the weight back too

Linziwam · 03/06/2010 23:21

Hi everyone! Sorry haven't posted for ages
well, I put on 5 pound in the carribean! Gutted (was great fun though while it lasted!) managed to lose 1.5 pound this week.
Trying to have a good week this week to try and get back to where I was before holiday.
Hope everyones getting on ok. Good to see you're doing well izziesmummy!
Sorry about your puppy kid. :-(

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/06/2010 16:24

Kid I'm so sorry bout pup

don't undo all your good work

I make spaghetti bol with quorn. Whole bag is 4.5 p so bulk out with free veg like onion/carrot/peppers and tin of toms and simmer for 1hr and soooooo yummy and very low in points

IzziesMummy · 08/06/2010 21:26

Hope everyone's still doing well. I've lost 2lbs in each of the last 2 weeks, so a total of 18lbs in 7 weeks.

To be honest, I'm really surprised, as I'd been dreadful about counting my points the last 2 weeks, what with the bank holiday BBQ at a friends house, and then my son's christening this weekend.

So far, I've managed to lose at least 1lb every week, so I'm really happy.

My friend who I go with isn't doing as well, and is really fed-up with it and threatening to quit. She was the one who gave me the motivation to start going in the first place (she gets married next May) so I really hope she doesn't quit, cos my will-power isn't so good on my own!

Riaferdinandgonehome · 09/06/2010 22:35

hi, hope it's going well for everyone.

need to get my motivation back, must have overdone something on my holiday last week (which is annoying because it's a mostly walking holiday, plus I go with my parents - my DM doesn ot do excess, and I usually come home a little lighter or at least the same) as have had a spectacular gain

just don't seem as if I can get back into it.

to make matters worse my very competitive Dsis has decided to diet too. I have been very tactful while I've been losing, not even mentioning that I was on a diet, or that I'd lost 1 1/2 stone. But she will keep me informed of every lb, and will be offering me clothes etc by the end of the week probably (I felt dreadful the other week when I took her some trousers I wore when PG, which fitted her, and my mahoosive jeans which didn't. She seems to enjoy making me feel like the fat one)

sorry for your loss kid, hope you are feeling a little better now.
