barbie, 23 lbs in 11 weeks is 2 lbs a week

i also have a wedding reception june 19th for a Sarah&jay

Linziwam · 05/05/2010 22:05

i had weigh in tonight and have gained a pound :-(

it was my brother's bday at the weekend, and we all went to an all you can eat buffet. not a good move!

Still a bit dissapointed though,as have cut my points back from 24 to 17 since then and been to three exercise classes. am hoping these days might show up on the scale next week if i keep it up

need some major motivation this week as off to the carribean in 10 days and would love to have got a stone off by then, currently lost ten pound.

Linziwam · 05/05/2010 22:06

btw Izzie, i know how you feel I have about 5 stone to lose. It does make it feel a little bit unachievable.

I reckon we can do it though eh?

IzziesMummy · 05/05/2010 22:21

Thanks for the encouragement StewieGriffinsMum and Linziwam.

Well, I went to weigh-in today and had lost another 3 and a half lb so now 9lb total in just over 2 weeks. I'm now down a point!!

It's my sons christening on 6th June, so I'm hoping for about another half stone by then.

But I really wish I'd started WW earlier now. DS is 9months old next week, and I'm not looking forward to his christening as I've got nothing to wear (or nothing that I can breast feed in) and hate clothes shopping at the size I am.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2010 22:56

Linziwam. If you don't eat enough points you can sts or put on as your body thinks it's being starved and will live off your inner fat and try to store food

maybe try eating 22 for a week

aww stewie, dont dispair, totm can add weight as of water rentention

crace · 06/05/2010 16:53

I was going to say the same, totm and water retention definitely the cause. It's horrid though.

Linziwam, 17 is quite low - you don't want to starve yourself and sabatoge a good job. Just eat well until next weigh in - most likely it will right itself again.

Just a running visit - so a quick hello.

Having my totm too and it's a real struggle this week, luckily WI isn't until Monday but I've gone over 12pts this week so far and not really seeing how to make up for that. Yesterday was ok, and today so far so good. It's taking every bit of will power I have

Thanks for the comments guys :-)

I know 17 is very low. was trying to make up for the trip to the buffet, where i'm sure i ate a good 50 points!

Think i got a bit carried away though!

I'm sticking to between 20 and 24 each day this week, and have no events or meals out this weekend so should be ok, fingers crossed!

cazboldy · 06/05/2010 18:49

Hi

Can I join in?

I just started yesterday. Need to lose about 1 and a half stone.

Was easy yesterday, but feeling a bit hungry today.

Linziwam · 08/05/2010 14:26

Welcome caz!
I would recommend getting loads of green veg, mushrooms and tomatoes in! :-)
x

cazboldy · 09/05/2010 12:14

Thanks

Seems to be going ok so far. looking forward to the weigh in on weds!

IzziesMummy · 10/05/2010 20:23

Weigh in again today. Another 1.5lb gone, and that's only since Wednesday as I went to a different meeting last week due to the bank holiday.

Am still struggling to eat all my points, but I've done a full meal-planner for the week, and did a big tesco shop today, so hopefully will be able to keep on the straight and narrow this week.

Need to lose another 1.5lbs to have reached 5% which is my first goal (have broken it up into small goals as I've got so much to lose, as otherwise it would feel a bit too overwhelming!

Linziwam · 11/05/2010 12:02

Well done izziesmummy! You should be really proud of yourself. I'm hoping to achieve my 5% at weigh in tomorrow, and break into the lower stone mark. Need to lose 3 pound to do that though so god knows!
Was doing great till I went to a kiss concert last night and gave in to a mcdonalds on way home! Luckily had some points left and should be able to make up for the rest today!
Can feel a step class coming on tonight! :-)

kid · 11/05/2010 21:45

Hi, I have decided tonight that I want to start WW straight away. I have no books on it at the moment yet I still plan to follow it at home!

I intend to search online for some point values, but in the meantime, could anyone point me towards a good site?
Or even better, can anyone tell me how many points weetabix are so I can at least get off to a decent start tomorrow!

tia

Linziwam · 11/05/2010 22:01

Kid, Weetabix is one point each, plus ur milk, which u have a daily allowance of.
I'd reccomend going to a meeting, ur first'll be free with voucher off site. U can get all the books there, then never go again if u don't want?
Otherwise there's a website called lady luck that is quite good for points listings. I do think I would find it really hard to follow the diet without the books though.
Good luck. Let us know how u get on in your first few days!

kid · 11/05/2010 22:20

thanks Linziwam
I did attempt WW many years ago. I had some books but I don't know where they are now. Besides, they would be so out of date anyway.

I keep trying SW but can never stick to it so have finally decided that perhaps its not quite suited to me.

I have found a couple of websites with point values so can hopefully get through tomorrow and a bit more time tomorrow evening to plan meal for the next few days.

I am going ot buy the WW magazine as they often contain recipes or menus. I don't want to spend any money just yet as I don't know how likely I am to stick to WW.
I know I have done SW about 1000 times and never last more than a couple of weeks. I have virtually no will power, I wonder if WW will be better for me?

cazboldy · 12/05/2010 11:37

Well done Izziesmummy

I had my first weigh in this morning and had lost 3 and a half pounds - I am really pleased!

kid · 12/05/2010 18:34

I have some books to help me through it at home, but I am still not sure.
I read that I should try and have 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day, which I know will come out of my points allowance. It also says I should aim for 1pint of milk a day, so, does that also come out of my points?

So confusing, but it looks good. Just need to plan some days or even a week in advance and then stick to it!

Well done cazboldy, 3 1/2lb loss is fantastic!

Hope everyone's doing well still.

I'm now 3 and a half weeks in to WW with 10.5lbs lost so far. I've found it relatively easy so far (as my points allowance is so large) but am REALLY hungry this evening - to the extent that my husband who's just gone out to get petrol has been instructed to bring me something nice and naughty back in with him.

I know I should be good and not ruin all the hard work I've done so far, but will-power has deserted me tonight

IzziesMummy · 13/05/2010 22:00

mmmmm - chocolate profiteroles!

so bad - but so yummy!

Know I'm going to feel so guilty tomorrow - need to get some healthy low point sweet things in the house so I don't have a repeat of this tomorrow.

Riapentatleisure · 13/05/2010 23:37

well done on the losses everyone

hope I can join in?

I have lost just over 1 stone so far on WW (just using books and mags), after a surprise result at a "damage limitation" weigh-in this morning I am 7lb off my first target which was to get down to just below the weight I was last September. I then have approx 4 stone to go, but am taking it a stone at a time as I have so much baby weight (DS1 is 13, plus the weight fromt he other 2) to lose that I aren't sure what my ultimate goal is until I get there. For now I will be happy with being able to wear the stash of jeans in the wardrobe... (my current favourites fall down at the first sign of actvity - doing the front garden and cleaning the car took far too long due to preventing embarrasment!!!)#

Am looking forward to a bit of MN style support to keep me on the straight and narrow. Would love to lose that 7lb before I hope to go on holiday in half term.

kid · 14/05/2010 16:54

I have tried SW so many times, finally accepted that I just can't do it.
Am on day 2 of WW and I am amazed at home easy it seems.

Okay, its a bit of a pain having to weigh and count literally everything, but it will be worth it in the end.

I am borrowing my mums books at the moment, I reckon I will just have to get my own though. If anyone sees a good deal on Ebay, let me know!

cranbury · 15/05/2010 15:51

Well did WW online religiously for a month then got sick of counting points and thought I had got the general idea and I am still losing a pound a week - smaller portions, cut down on snacks, don't eat kids food, choose low calorie options. Lost over a stone so far (10lbs on WW in 6 weeks) this year. Only 5lbs to go to reach pre-pregancy weight and can now fit into most of my clothes which is great for summer. Getting fit will be next job.

Good luck it is very dull counting points but I found it really did help me lose lots of weight quickly and may do it again if my weight loss stalls.
