WelCOME all to the no mercy school of short term dieting.

I like the low cal meals. They get you used to portion size initially. Will not be using after the couple i have left as i am now regulated in to HOG portions and MAKE YOU HAPPY portions.

The multigrain corn thins are 22 cals each. A ryvita is 45.

MamaGoblin · 22/03/2010 19:18

Sweetcorn is dead starchy - full of sugars. Which is why it's so nice!

Am having butternut squash and other roast veg this evening - can never understand why butternut squash registers as nul points when it's so sweet. Not that I'mm arguing.

bobbiewickham · 22/03/2010 19:19

Aw, didn't mean to sound like I was having a go.

I've been down that road so many times myself.

I get it.

Sorry, geordieminx.

SuSylvester · 22/03/2010 19:20

best lo cal meals are interesting veg
( eg steamed beans andasparagus , or flash fried mini cherry toms with garlic and coriander or roasted veg)
with a nice small bit of meat bbq or poached in foil int eh oven
or a nice bit of fish shallow fried wiht salad ( masses of it) or a tomato sauce ( almost no cals) with pasta for a hog session

i like those individual frozen chickn breasts that you can get out of the freexer in teh morning and are ready to cook when you get home. I buy all fish at watirsoe so it comes in those foil things so i get those out at 8am and cook that night.

Butternut squash mainly water - all squashes are.

Fill yer boots.

SuSylvester · 22/03/2010 19:21

did oyu say

"MAKE YOU HAPPY portions"

OP posts:
SuSylvester · 22/03/2010 19:22

someone said BNS with bacon was a great meal

oyu need FLAVOURINGS - eg pesto ( tiny bit on fish in foil in oven) or harissa ( smeared on tiny lamb steaks on bbq

and HERBS( on fish, on cherry toms)

Its cool, I didnt think you were having a go - you are right, a nice piece of salmon with a cajun crust and some roasted veg would be 100% nicer than scabby cauli cheese which is the size of a fag packet, and watery as hell....

I will make a better shopping list this week.

Infact, I have some salmon in freezer that I ewill defrost tomorrow.

Best not tell you that tomorrow night's tea is spam fritters and tinned tomatoes. How common retro?

SuSylvester · 22/03/2010 19:24

the mere word fritter has me drooling
here

OP posts:
bobbiewickham · 22/03/2010 19:25

Nah, think SPAM.

That'll cure you.

HumphreyCobbler · 22/03/2010 19:27

Kept on track today after yesterday's indulgence.

Also did a lot of digging, that must burn off the calories.

MamaGoblin · 22/03/2010 19:27

Arghhh! Not fair posting pictures of ice cream, Su!

bobbiewickham · 22/03/2010 19:27

oops, geordieminx, didn't read your post properly.

Not gunning for you, honest

Undertone · 22/03/2010 19:35

Just popped in to see how we all were. So we're anorexic, are we?

Saying that - every time I look in the mirror I DO see a fat person...

Still at work. I'm going to be RAVENOUS when I get home at about 9pm. But I only have salad in my fridge - all the crisps and snacks in the cupboards have been scoffed were chucked out at the beginning of the diet two and a bit weeks ago.

I literally have to eat salad or my arm.

I may go mad and put an extra dollop of cottage cheese on top. Because, you know, I'm just a wild thing when it comes to salad.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 22/03/2010 19:36

Yummy yummy yummy custard, thanks Cyb. Now off behind the bike sheds to be a bad gal.

geordieminx · 22/03/2010 19:37

cauli cheese inhaled.

Actch it wasnt too bad - inspired by thread, added a little bit of grated cheese to the top, and had a pack of steam fresh veg, covered the lot in black pepper and it was fine.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 22/03/2010 19:38

Humph - you do a lot of digging - what are you planting?

HumphreyCobbler · 22/03/2010 19:39

I listened to a Paul McKenna CD today, it was just like this thread actually.

largeginandtonic · 22/03/2010 19:41

Corn cob went black in the micro

Made an oriental stylee salad instead. Spinach toms, cucumber and spring onions. Forgot to wash spinach >

Lots of cottage cheese on top! Or have you got a can of tuna in the cupboard? Or maybe a can of chickpeas or summat. That will liven it up.

LadyBlaBlah · 22/03/2010 19:45

I just cooked this and after a massive bowl (extraordinarily eaten without bread and butter ) and I am totally full. T'was really really nice. No chilli flakes round here though - bunged in a fresh red chilli mmmmmm

So long as I go to bed soon, another successful day [smug]

SuSylvester · 22/03/2010 19:48

LadyBlaBlah · 22/03/2010 19:52

Can we do chocolate raisins?

cocolepew · 22/03/2010 19:59

lol at undertone seeing a fat person.
I'm eating frozen maltesers, 187 cals and a diet coke, 1.5 cals.

largeginandtonic · 22/03/2010 20:26

I hate raisins, bleurgh. Are dried apricots a suitable alternative?

I am going to bed soon too. 3 flights of stairs is too many to undertake for a snack.

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 22/03/2010 20:31

don't eat dried fruit, eat real fruit, much better for you.
