Bariatric - it's not too bad - yes, a small portion but lots of veg (spinach and edamame beans, I think) on top, so it feels like I'm getting enough. Now all I have to do is keep from grazing on DS's roasties and beef...

Oh god, I was completely UNDONE by Wagamama a couple of months ago (when was still counting WW points). Had noodles and chicken, not too bad, but we ordered some duck gyoza as an 'extra' and they were over 20 bloody points. For 6 tiny dumplings.

BariatricObama · 22/03/2010 12:32

back hamsters are basically companions of the muffin top. they only really surfaced with teh advent of low cut trews and women who dress without the benifit of a full lenght mirror. sometimes they only pop out to play when sitting which is a v. bad look!

MamaGoblin · 22/03/2010 12:36

Think I've got back guinea pigs...

YoginiBikini · 22/03/2010 12:39

Cauli topping sounds good. I was going to make one later in the week with celeriac topping.

Love the dress Porridge.

I have my eye on a few dresses from that site.

welcome mamagoblin, you're in the right place for being told off and stern looks

Lesinge, how long have you been going? It sounds like it's really working for you

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 22/03/2010 12:43

since last monday. i'm sure i must've lost about six pounds, although i didn't pay a great deal of attention to the weight at the beginning as am only doing this for a wedding in two weeks. although i must say it's kind of a piece of piss so far so i might extend it. you do get a horrid taste in your mouth, though, but funnily enough it also puts you off sweet things.

anyway, seriously, a week is no time to comment really, so don't take my word for anything. i note, however, that Atkins has a new book which is less obnoxious and, guess what, more like Zoe Harcombe

not that i've done zh yet, i've just not been eating carbs.

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 22/03/2010 12:44

oh and btw i was thinking the other day how i haven't had any ibs last week either, and normally i do suffer from stomach cramps.

Birdistheword · 22/03/2010 13:32

Would love to join in but so far today i have already eaten two tuna & mayo cobs and a large bowl of cornflakes with sugar.

Oh, and a cup of tea with 3 sweeteners.

Birdistheword · 22/03/2010 13:52

Come on, i need you all to shout at me and call me a fat munter

jenduff · 22/03/2010 14:06

Bird Su will be along to shout at you shortly

In the meantime just draw a line under it and start afresh like I need to each week

Birdistheword · 22/03/2010 14:09

It's the evenings that i have a real problem with, a couple of hours after dinner and i start searching the cupboards for chocolate and biscuits.

MamaGoblin · 22/03/2010 14:13

Evenings hard for me too, Bird, as DH cooks...

Birdistheword · 22/03/2010 14:15

I'm ok if i go off and do other things, reading etc but then i think i feel anti-social.

CheeeseOnToast · 22/03/2010 14:15

Wow glasjam thanks so much for that list. It appears my all time fave - seafood ramen - is one of the lowest in points!!! Get in. Have to say I do adore Cha Han rice but the portions are just massive, I can't stop eating it once I start and it's probably more than a day's allowance.

I managed almost 7k today for my run, but I kept stopping and having a nosy at the canal that they're dredging, it was really interesting! So, soup for me for lunch and then I'll hold off until Wagamamas for dinner.

Lesinge you've reminded me, I used to suffer occasionally with IBS but haven't had a flare up in at least a week. This healthy eating must be really helping. Do you also feel less bloated?

jenduff · 22/03/2010 14:16

DM alert but have a look at Kirstie Alley - just shows that even the super rich struggle with their weight

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 22/03/2010 14:23

Oh God - let me have a go.

YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET ANY THINNER IF YOU KEEP ON EATING LOADS

Try again...

BACK HAMSTERS COST AND RIGHT HERE'S WHERE YOU START PAYING

Still not right...

VISUALISE YOUR BOTTOM IN A BIKINI

Nope, just can't do it like Su can. Bird - Su I'll be along later just as soon as she's finished unleashing the power of young minds.

By the way - thanks Yogi

Le Singe - do you think you'll keep going post wedding?

geordieminx · 22/03/2010 14:25

(((((crashes into thread with enormous thunder thighs)))))))

Right, I'm de-lurking and joining proper.

Was at goal weight for wedding in October... since honeymoon I have manged to put on almost a stone and a half.. My dh married a fox that has turned into a pig

Since Jan I have been on and off a bloody diet so many times I am fed up. I know I could have lost a stone by now, but I have pissed about, and am no lighter than when I started.

Sooooo I have started again today, and I am in the zone! Had special k for brekkie, then did an hour in the gym whilst ds was at nursery.

I need to get a stone off in 6 weeks as we are off on holiday, and I looking frightening in a bikini just now. No more piss-arsing about.

If anyone is interested I have Just Dance on the wii which is great for burning kcal and doing half and hours exercise if you cant get to the gym.

BariatricObama · 22/03/2010 14:27

lol @ porridge

BACK HAMSTERS COST AND RIGHT HERE'S WHERE YOU START PAYING IN SWEAT [bangs big stick on the floor and dons legwarmers]

Birdistheword · 22/03/2010 14:30

What makes it even worse is that a few months ago i lost half a stone, and then i just sort of gave up.

OK. Plan for today.

Don't eat anything else til dinner (easy)

Halve portion size

Don't send DP to the shop to fetch Cadbury Caramel after dinner

Don't sit on my arse all evening watching TV

Go to bed earlier, and actually go to sleep instead of watching crap on tv til midnight.

Am feeling positive.

Birdistheword · 22/03/2010 14:31

Oh yes, Just Dance is fab, am going to get it when i have some cash in a couple of weeks.

Themasterandmargaritas · 22/03/2010 14:35

Gosh porridge I never realised you had it in you, you seemed so nice. I'm proper scared now, so much so that I had a rice cake instead of a digestive smeared with butter

Great recipe Yogi thanks. Will give it a whirl tomorrow because not only have we had junior swimming gala (no school cake nor sarnies for me) tonight we have school concert and that means wine and samosas and spring rolls.

I will desist.

MamaGoblin · 22/03/2010 14:40

Bird, that's what happened here too. I lost half a stone on WW between November and about mid-Feb, and then slipped off wagon Whyyyy? God knows how much I've put back on.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 22/03/2010 14:42

under the porridgey exterior lurks a smaller meaner and fitter version waiting to get out.

Right I'm off to do some jumping over cars and dancing in the street
