Hi ladies!

Thought it might be nice to have a new thread for the new(ish) year.

hey Jammy, welcome back. Glad you've come back as we can have extra encouragement cross-thread. Seriously need a big kick here

of your curry RG

Jammyrella · 03/05/2010 13:13

Hope I can encourage you all

In return can anyone offer me any advice on tapas? On a work trip to Spain this week, and I know there is a tapas night tomorrow. I'm sure it will all be yummy (I love tapas!) but I am worried that it won't be too healthy. Now, I'm not going to spoil a good night over it, but if anyone has any tips in damamge limitation I'd be interested!

Riapentatleisure · 03/05/2010 18:35

don't think I've ever had tapas jammy. suppose avoiding oil-heavy things etc? how about extra-moderation during the day and then ENJOY!!!

Riapentatleisure · 04/05/2010 09:31

morning all. Just logging on to confess that I have re-gained 4lb so am back to only having lost a stone, and to get a virtual kicking for my troubles

New goals 1) to lose the 4lb, 2) to lose 12lb before I (hopefully) go on holiday around 1st June, 3) walk every day and start toning exercises so I can wear the stash of jeans in my wardrobe when I go away.

sadly am already feeling really crap today. Tired, totally at a loss with DH, unmotivated, and a bit overwhelmed by life in general, stuff I want to do around the house and garden and my new OU course, so today will be a big test of my staying power.

good luck for this week everyone

Jammyrella · 04/05/2010 10:21

sat next to ben and jerry vending machine at airport but being strong! Have ignored all those snacking all around me and had water and apple. Back on Friday.

Riapentatleisure · 04/05/2010 11:49

well done Jammy. Be strong

RGPargy · 04/05/2010 22:00

Hi everyone!

I went back on to WW today - and was absolutely STARVING after each meal!! I had rice krispies for breakfast, WWFH sketti on toast for lunch and then for dinner i made stuffed mushrooms with pasta, although i probably used a little too much cheese....

I have now just blown it all by having 3 handfuls of chilli peanuts and a bagel with jam. I cant help it tho! I am STARVING!! I think the fact that it's TOM today doesn't help much

I'm so envious of this girl at work. She's now lost 1.5 stones on WW and it seems that every time i go into work on a thursday, they start talking about how much weight she's lost. I'm sure it's because they are just hinting at me - you know the scenario - the skinny girl says to a fat girl "oh i am soooo fat, look at me!!" just to make themselves feel better and you feel bad! I could be paranoid, but i always get that impression lol.

I do keep thinking about going low carb again but i just love carbs and i'm not sure i could cope without them!!

RGPargy ? Thanks, it is nice to be back again too. I still can?t get all my saved threads so I hope I don?t lose you again. All good thanks and hope it is for you too. Hopefully once you have been on the WW for a few days you will start to adapt. Don?t they do a programme that?s a bit like SW now where you can eat unlimited but not mixing certain foods or do I have that wrong? Ignore the girl at work if she is being snotty, she is not worth it.

Ria ? Yes it is a weight loss thread but we also all have lives apart from dieting and of course I (and I am sure everyone else) are more than happy to listen as you are going through a tough time and it helps to talk. I really hope that things do work out for you and DH. I am thinking of you. I hope that everyone?s operations are going well. And please remember that if you need to sound off anytime we are here to listen and don?t worry that it is supposed to be a weight loss thread. Dieting is probably the last of your concerns at the moment, please don?t be hard on yourself. You will lose the 4lbs again when you are ready.

Jammy ? Hi and welcome back. I am sorry you have been going through a tough time but I am pleased to hear that with the counselling you are feeling better now. Sorry I have only had tapas a couple of times before and I can?t really remember the type of food it is but hopefully you will find something. Enjoy the trip.

I didn?t have a very good weekend foodwise. I think because I have been dieting for so long now it was like a bit of rebellion and I had a bit of a pigout. We had MIL?s 70th birthday yesterday too so lots of eating then. Oh well, back to it this week now.

Riapentatleisure · 04/05/2010 23:11

hi Mels. I LOVE diet-rebellion days

what a cow at work RG. Can you drop empty chocolate wrappers in her bin or something? Just remember you are the Gym-Queen and you are reaping your rewards from the inside out. I know the situation you talk of and it is very easy to feel that way. I also know what you mean re feeling hungry after meals. Though I have done OK today. Too much bread but within points. Am about to have a glass of wine before bed to reward myself for watching a whole hour of my OU DVD. I am not a fan of cutting carbs, in fact I don't think I could. I don't think WW classes still do the core plan do they? But if you have the stuff you could give that a try. Or just do your best to stick with it for now - have you been having the extra activity points you are allowed after the gym, and have you allowed for going to the gym when working out your daily points allowance?

hope the tapas was good jammy.

RGPargy · 04/05/2010 23:35

Mummymels - have you looked on the "Threads I'm On" section? This thread should be on there!

Hi Jammy! Welcome back! Glad you're getting your head straight.

Ria - i haven't done a points count up lately, maybe i should. I think i am just eating the wrong foods in order to feel full up. I should i review what i'm eating and see what happens I dont generally tend to use up my activity points when i'm being good (a rarety!).....

You are right the silly bint at work. The worst thing is that they dont seem in the slightest bit interested in my gym efforts and when i told them that people had noticed i was losing weight, they hardly commented at all!

I really really should crack on with this diet malarky so that i can start being in the teens in clothes sizings.

I think WW does a filling foods plan thing now instead of the core plan. My problem is just the right choice of foods (or wrong, as is my case normally!). I just find it really depressing when i think about all the lushious bad food i will be missing out on when i start WW again. But as teh saying goes, "Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels".

Riapentatleisure · 05/05/2010 22:11

wine does!!!

sod 'em RG, we love you.

they are obviously far too self-obsessed for their own good! It will all go horribly wrong for them in the end

I don't know what to say about the food thing, but try re-assessing your daily points, as you might not be getting what you are allowed not you are more active. I would also allow yourself some of the activity points you have earned too.

I am feeling proud of myself as I am about to go to bed on my second day within points, but I have no idea how long I can keep it up. DH had tea with the boys tonight and they had a fake BBQ - I didn't have any as is was too early for me, and had chicken fillet, homemade coleslaw, salad and low fat oven chips instead. Had a GORGEOUS beef baguette at lunch with lots of crunchy salad. Maybe I have finally got a handle on my portion sizes!!! I do dread dropping points though Had a good gardening session too and earned approx 5 activity points (that I am not going to wat today). But it would be very easy to slip back to old habits. And if/when DH comes back, that will be a challenge. I need to succeed though, as I am between jeans sizes, and the ones I'm wearing are too big, but the ones I want to wear just aren't quite comfortable yet.

sorry, rambling tonight

Riapentatleisure · 05/05/2010 22:12

*now you are more active (how the hell did I type T instead of W? nowhere near. should have paid attention in those stupid typing lessons)

RGPargy · 05/05/2010 23:17

You're right about the wine Ria!!

I think i have figured out that if i eat healthily of my own accord, i dont even think about food and i am happy to not eat crap, but stick me on WW and all i can do is think about food and feel starving hungry all the time! I think the way forward for me is to just go it alone and it'll come off as it has been doing.

Your lunch and dinner sounds lovely!! I had a ham salad baguette for lunch at the gym but i think i'd have preferred your beef one! Well done on the gardening points! Do you want to come and do my garden too? We need some turf laying - that'll earn you a few points lol.

I have a pair of jeans that are in between comfort zones too. It's very annoying isn't it but also quite motivating!

Dont worry, you ramble away. It makes a change for someone else to be waffling on. It's all i seem to do these days!

OP posts:
mummymels · 05/05/2010 23:29

Ria ? I love rebellion days too. Did I mention that as well as the MIL?s very pretentious 70th party on Monday we had friends round for tea on Sunday and I was very naughty and ate cake and have some leftover. So much for getting back to it today but I can?t bare for the leftovers to be thrown away and no-one else are eating them so sadly I will have to indulge! Definitely back to it tomorrow, I don?t want to get back into my old habits.

Lol on the empty chocolate wrappers in the horrible girl?s bin at RG?s work. You should definitely do that. How funny.

Well done on staying within points.

RGPargy ? Thank you so much, yes they are there. Why on earth did I not work that one out for myself! Those horrible girls at your work won?t know what has hit them when you get to target.

Riapentatleisure · 06/05/2010 13:47

STARVING today. want something nicer than sweetcorn fritters and bacon for tea

done a tiny but more gardening, am too tired to move, think I overdid it last night.

mummymels · 06/05/2010 18:50

I have never had sweetcorn fritters but that sounds yummy. Do you make them yourself fron scratch?

Do you get extra points for your gardening? Sounds like you need an early night tonight.

I'm pleased to say I have been much better again today and no cheating so feel better about myself.

Riapentatleisure · 06/05/2010 21:49

hi mels. the fritters were OK. it was a recipe I thought I'd try from a WW cookbook. just sweetcorn and red onion in beaten egg and dry-fried.

glad you had a good day.

am wavering now, but have accounted for a pitta bread and some law fat houmous.

Jammyrella · 07/05/2010 00:00

Hi ladies

Ria, those smaller jeans will fit soon I'm sure, you are doing so well. And stuff that mean woman at your work RG! Glad you had a good day Mel, I didn't ! Most of the trip away was OK - there was planty of delicious food, and I did have some of it all, but lots of it was fish and plenty of peppers and not much carbs and mostly portion sizes weren't too big. Also I walked loads, did some exercises in my hotel room too, had fruit and yog for breakfast instead of pastries etc, skipped the snacks with coffee and had limited amount of booze with tonnes of water.

But today I have been feeling crap (sore throat and cough) and been travelling from 4-11.30pm so ended up having cake and choc while waiting for 1st flight, then a "McRoyale" (quarter pounder) and a McFlurry between flights and then nuts and beer on the last bit of the journey. Ah well! Can be better tomorrow!

Riapentatleisure · 07/05/2010 13:09

I had a bad day yesterday too Jammy, once the evening hit it kind of went a bit wrong

have killer stomach cramp today though, so that might help!

RGPargy · 07/05/2010 23:08

Hi everyone!

Thursdays and Fridays are just rubbish for me and diets. They are the only days that i truly eat rubbish as they are work days and we have a vending machine! Every Thurs and Fri morning i have a ham and eggs muffin for breakie, hula hoops for 10.30 and then some crappy lunch. It's only because i'm so booooored at work. Not that i dont have anything to do, but because i dont like my job!

Going to have another bad weekend this weekend as we are off to Leicester on Saturday for a friend's oldskool party. We have decided to go to Pizza Hut for dinner and will be drinking copious amounts of booze before, during and after the evening too!

Oh well.... back to square one on Monday (again!).

Riapentatleisure · 07/05/2010 23:37

me too RG TOTM again (roll on September when this dratted implant is coming out), feeling really rough with stomach cramp and headache, and bought chocolate...

hope I feel better tomorrow as no festivities planned for me, so I could easily get back to it after breakfast (it's Saturday and has become official lie in and eggy bread day!)

have a good weekend (it sounds like you plan to)

Riapentatleisure · 08/05/2010 09:35

2lb off need to try harder though as that has to be sheer fluke after the last 2 days...

mummymels · 09/05/2010 20:24

Ria ? I may have to try those fritters.

Jammy ? I hope you are feeling better soon.

RGPargy ? Hope you enjoyed your night out.

I have had another bad weeked as we had friends round yesterday and today and I didn't eat very well again.

RGPargy · 09/05/2010 22:16

Ria - well done on the 2lbs off!! Sorry you have been feeling rubbish - so glad i never opted for the implant!

Mummymels - back to the beginning again tomorrow for you too?

Had a fab night last night. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Leicester and had managed to pre-book an Executive King room, which had the most MAHOOOOOSIVE bed i have ever seen!! We didn't go to Pizza Hut in the end as we were running short of time so we just got a pizza and some chips sent up to our room (ooooo get us having room service!!). The night was good fun too and it was brilliant to get out and socialise again.

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 09/05/2010 23:24

sounds fab RG.

back to the beginning for me tomorrow too. have had a very lenient weekend but have been busy cleaning things.
