Hi ladies!

Thought it might be nice to have a new thread for the new(ish) year.

are you following any particular diet/exercise plan?

wouldliketoknow · 21/10/2010 22:49

thinking of weight watchers, and pool in the week ends, this is a plan not actually done yet. i have difficulty doing anything that doesn't involve lo.

findingtheRialme · 21/10/2010 23:00

IKWYM! I am constantly torn between WW (ready meals, junk food and wine) and SW (huge portions) TBH (and Rosemary Conley when I am feeling super-motivated), and due to DHs work, everything I do involves the DC on some level. 'tis easier to be fat! (serious motivational problems ATM)

wouldliketoknow · 22/10/2010 09:44

how do you feel about fresh food from scratch, and i do mean salad...

RGPargy · 22/10/2010 13:31

Welcome, wouldliketoknow! :o

I much prefer fresh food from scratch. I cant abide spending money on WW rubbish as it is so full of crap. I'm surprised that they are not promoting more "eating from scratch" rather than encouraging people to eat loads of additives etc that are in their products, which can ultimately actually cause a stall in people's weight loss!

I'm not on any plan but am trying to eat less as my problem is portion sizes and too much wine during the week Blush. I do however do 7 classes at the gym per week over the course of 4 days so at the moment i am just kind of staying the same, weight-wise.

Hmm
OP posts:
Jammyrella · 22/10/2010 19:58

Because they can't amke as much money out of telling you to cook from scratch RG! You really think the people behind WW think "I know, lets do soemthing really good to help the health of the world", or that they think "I see a BIG BIG marketing opportunity here"?

Sorry, I do try not to let my hatred of WW take over in conversations, but I really do think they are evil.

findingtheRialme · 22/10/2010 21:55

they are evil (all of them), but I am lazyWink

I like fresh food from scratch too (including salad), but I don't much enjoy preparing itBlush, I am not a domestic goddess who can let go of the stresses of the day in the kitchen, cooking makes me super tense. And, lucky me, I have half term plus DH at home for 2 weeks. It will all be about foodSad

RGPargy · 22/10/2010 23:49

I completely get where you're coming from Jammy!!

I dont like prepping up fresh food much either Ria but i love seeing people's faces when they taste something utterly delicious that i've made and they are like "woah!! this is delicious!". :o

Hope your two weeks isn't too bad at home with the family.....

Oh by the way, check out Fitness Fiesta HERE and watch the video. I am sure i am in there somewhere but you just cant see me lol.

Cant wait for March!!

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 23/10/2010 16:56

that looks a little like hell with strobe lighting RGWink glad you had a good time though.

Jammyrella · 27/10/2010 08:07

Have had a bad week food-wise. Just CBA (couldn't be arsed) with being ill and now have put a kg back on :(

findingtheRialme · 27/10/2010 11:24

Sad jammy, I know that feeling. Am finding it very hard to get back into it too.

RGPargy · 28/10/2010 14:59

I hear ya! I've not been tooooo bad with food but i've had alcohol every night this week Blush So much for my alcohol-free week days!!

On a good note, i saw a friend yesterday who i haven't seen for ages and she said that i've lost weight! :o I was chuffed about that, even though the scales aren't really moving atm. I suppose the gym must be working after all! :o

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 28/10/2010 23:07

well done RGGrin

so, the wicked alcohol... me too WinkBlush

why can't I buy motivation and will-power in a bottle?

findingtheRialme · 30/10/2010 22:17

yay, two days walking along beachesSmile. Has blown away the cobwebs. Was a mistake to sit on the very cold rock though.

Have a great weekend.

Hope the pox isn't too bad Jammy.

RGPargy · 02/11/2010 22:20

Yeah Ria, the wicked alcohol stayed away for all of one day lol. My new wine glasses work just fine too. Blush

Well done on the beach walks!

How are you all doing this week so far?

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 02/11/2010 23:00

I was doing fab RG, then after the ironing today I kind of hit the biscuits... then I took DS1 to the new Tesco locally to get his ingredients for his cooking lesson tomorrow, and somehow sensations, and curry ready meals and indian snacks, oh, and wine (it was on special offer) fell into my trolleyBlushBlush. promise to be good tomorrow though, all my trousers are too big (in an uncomfortable falling-down and trying-to-take-undergarments-with-then kind of way) but next size down too small, so have to do something

I did 2 dance classes this morning though, and, because I finally managed to crack the dance and get it right (melody foxtrot apparently) I really gave it, and the dancercise routines some welly!!!! I need a magic anti-pespirant though (sorry if TMI) I had to dance with a partner this morning and they (she, thankfully) commented on how sweaty I wasBlush.

Am toying with zumba in the morning...

findingtheRialme · 03/11/2010 11:20

ZUMBA!!! GrinGrin

RGPargy · 05/11/2010 23:23

You did Zumba?!! Well done!! :o What did you think of it?

Dont worry about how sweaty you get - it means you're working hard and it's the sign of a healthy body! :o

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 06/11/2010 00:57

I enjoyed it much more this time than last time I tried it, and am hoping to go again next week. It was a much smaller class.

haven't lost a thing this week, despite walking everywhere and 3 classesSad. Pah!

busy weekend, hope there's some nice food involved somewhereWink

have a great weekend

RGPargy · 06/11/2010 20:30

Glad you enjoyed it Ria. As for the loss, always remember that the current week's loss/gain etc is always down to the PREVIOUS week's food intake. If you've been really good this week it'll show in the scales next week. :)

Went to bodypump today with a headache from too much vino the night before but it was still ok and i had a good laugh. Have got body combat and pump tomorrow morning. Yay! Hmm

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 08/11/2010 23:38

hope so RG...Hmm

dance in the morningSmile

how come it's nearly christmas and I'm still more or less where I was last yearSad? (don't answer that - I know!!!Blush)

RGPargy · 16/11/2010 10:44

Blimey!! Over a week since i posted!! Blush

Any loss this week?!

I know what you mean about the Christmas thing. This time last year we were saying we wanted to lose a stone by Christmas. In fact i think it was October that we started that one. I dont think it ever happened to any of us tho lol!!! :o

How about a new year's res to try harder (again) Hmm Wink

Hope you are well xx

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 16/11/2010 18:03

LOL RG. Don't think I'll lose a stone by christmas this year eitherWink

missed dance this morning as am decorating the conservatory, and I also used up all my resources taking DS3 to the much-hated nursery (proper tears dropping on my coatSad) but he had a great timeSmile. won't make zumba tomorrow as DH has to go to fracture clinic... but I will go into town while he is there, so lots of walkingHmm

how are you getting on?

RGPargy · 18/11/2010 14:30

Ah well, i'm sure the walking will make up for the lack of dancing. Wink

It rips your heart out when the DCs cry proper fat tears doesn't it. I hate that. Thankfully DD is fine with going to nursery now and yesterday she just flounced off to see her friend without even saying goodbye to me!! When i waved goodbye to her, she gave me a look that said "yeah alright, whatever mummy" and didn't even wave back!! Shock

I'm doing the same as usual. Nothing to shout about, loss wise, i.e. no loss. Having said that I went without a big dinner on Monday night and then lost 3lbs the next day! I know my portions are too big and this is obviously where i am going wrong.... Hmm

Smaller dinners for me, i think! If i have them with wine, will i come out even or still be in debit, calorie-wise?? Wink

OP posts:
findingtheRialme · 19/11/2010 21:17

I like wine... smaller portion with wine better than bigger portion also with wineHmmWink

1 bottle of Bud for me tonight, my treat after a manic day of "spring" cleaning, but within my points. Really have to take myself in hand, my jeans are too tight and I feel like a lumpSad

have a great weekend.
