Hi ladies!

Thought it might be nice to have a new thread for the new(ish) year.

Riapentatleisure · 07/04/2010 22:42

well done you RG

have, erm, slipped a bit this week DH took the smaller boys out to a farm this morning, and somehow I ended up going too, DH's idea of a picnic lunch does not correspond with a WW points-counted lunch (but I ate it anyway!). Have over-eaten tonight and hit the wine - 3 tiny glasses tonight. Oops. and then there was the chocolate...

plan to be good tomorrow, but who knows what tomorrow brings! Friday is DS1s birthday so that might be questionable too...

I AM NOT putting it ALL back on though... I WILL GET BACK TO IT!!!!

enjoy the gym. need to get out walking here...

RGPargy · 09/04/2010 23:49

Hi Ria

If it makes you feel any better, i've drank booze every night this week so i am deffo not going to lost any weight this week! In my defence however, it is now TOM so i think i can get away with alot more than i should....

How did DS1's birthday go today?

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 10/04/2010 10:32

he had a great day thanks RG, electric guitar (freecycle) and Beatles songbook from me, RC plane from his Dad, and cash from my sis and parents, so he was well happy. He still has a gift to come from my sis in NZ, whether MIL will bother or not is open to debate every year anyway, current situation will make no difference

have gained 2 lb this week, but it's been at least a week since my last TOM, so maybe that is why, in addition to a couple of nights of wine, 2 bags of sensations, a little bit of chocolate and not counting my meals.

anyway, think I will take today off and then start again tomorrow

have a great weekend!

phoenixflower · 10/04/2010 14:20

Is it too late to join this thread? I need to loose a lot of weight and would love to chat to others doing the same.

RGPargy · 10/04/2010 21:12

Sounds like DS had a great day indeed Ria!!

Nevermind re the gain, especially if it's around your TOM. Back on the wagon on Monday for me too so i'm hoping to see the scales go down, especially as it's now FOUR people in the last 2 weeks who have said i look good and have lost weight!

Hi Phoenix! Welcome aboard! The more the merrier!!

What plan are you following, if any? Tell us your story! (I am nosy )

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 10/04/2010 21:54

hi pheonix, welcome to the thread. Hope you'll stick around a while.

don't you just hate it when you want to be really bad and there's nothing in the house like there's not quite a full glass of wine left in the bottle, and one glass isn't enough... had a really busy day in the garden (glorious weather) and washed the car, so I have earned it! Was torn between being back on plan tomorrow, or being really naughty, but am at DMs for tea so won't be either.

am going to have a sneaky glass out of the new bottle - purely medicinal for my aching bits from the gardening!

am of the comments you have had RG. well done!

Riapentatleisure · 10/04/2010 21:56

feel cheated - it's "reduced alcohol" serves me right for falling for Tesco 3 for £10... will have to have an extra glass!!! (it will be less points though won't it, when I start counting again?)

RGPargy · 10/04/2010 22:32

Reduced alcohol????? Bloody hell Ria, you might as well be drinking squash!!! From the sounds of it tho, you've deffo earned the Real McCoy!!

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 11/04/2010 10:44

it was still pink and fizzy and very cold, so it's OK

knocking it on the head for a couple of days after this bottle, then I'll have some good stuff at the wseekend

have a good day

phoenixflower · 11/04/2010 20:08

RGPargy - I am planning to follow the slimming World plan ( sort of - not going to the club like i did before) starting tomorrow (Monday). I did it last year and lost weight but stopped over Christmas and have never rejoined. Put all the weight back on plus an extra stone!

I have lots of weight to loose, more than 5 stone but am taking it little steps at a time.

Must loose the weight as being this big is making me feel embarrassed and lately has been making me feel inadequate and a failure.

So need to change and fast!

Riapentatleisure - I have a lot to loose so am sure i'll be around a while !!!

Riapentatleisure · 13/04/2010 14:36

must be coming up TOM as exhausted, very teary and STARVING today.

Will be glad when it's back to school (we have another week to go, Dsis's kids went back today) as I need a break.

good luck with the SW pheonix

phoenixflower · 13/04/2010 16:44

thanks, started today and doing well so far. Am doing it online so I can track my progress and keep a food diary.

Riapentatleisure · 13/04/2010 23:43

I think I lost about a stone and a half the first time I did SW. I seem to have hit a temporary glitch with WW too. Have just had supper made from random items from the freezer as I was starving, and I really wish I'd given in and ordered in a pizza, but it seems a bit extravagant just for me. It was far easier to lose weight when I was just devastated instead of cross, (D)H is taking the small boys to visit his parents tomorrow (oh, yippee that I don't have to go, but I hope they have developed a bit of tact since last time we went as I don't want my boys hearing them bang on with their opinion of me) so no doubt I will be livid tomorrow night - luckily am planning a trip to Morrisons in the morning for a fajita wrap for my lunch (my reward for enduring the WWII museum with DS1)

oops, sorry just needed to let off a bit of steam!

good luck for tomorrow. I know I'll need it!

RGPargy · 15/04/2010 22:13

Hello ladies! Just checking in - no time to chat right now (just off to bed) but will try and catch up tomorrow.

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 20/04/2010 13:45

hey guys, how's it going?

good luck with the potty training RG, DS3 is not interested. He wore pants at my mums last week while I went out for the afternoon, and he was in the bath when I got home after quite a major pants-in-the bin incident . You are never too young to find out what granny is like when she's narked!

renewed WW effort this week, after briefly toying with the idea of SW on Saturday morning (all my school-mum friends have joined SW together), but the sight of the raw egg nearly had me puking in the sink (am not good with eggs), so I didn't enjoy my breakfast and kind of fell off quite quickly. WW is much better for me at the moment, though I really need to start exercising as I am living in fear of hideous loose skin on my tummy if I do manage to lose any more

RGPargy · 22/04/2010 21:29

Hi Ria

Potty training is going well so far. Only had to chuck one pair of knickers straight into the bin and that was today after an "accident" when DD didn't make it to the potty in time lol. Other than that, it's just been one weewee accident per day in the afternoon when she's tired and forgets she's supposed to go on the potty!!

WW and the gym has gone out the window a bit this week as i have opted to mainly stay close to home this week while potty training. HAving said that, we did go out on tuesday morning to a soft play centre which DD absolutely LOVED and didn't have an accident at all!

Am going to the gym tomorrow as MIL is having DD for the day and have vowed to lay off the wine from next week, as well as start counting on WW again. I have had wine every night this week - not good!

How are you getting on with DH and WW Ria?

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 23/04/2010 18:55

Hi RG well done on the potty training (you and DD)

Things are going good with DH. He took me out for the day on Wednesday - a really long walk by the sea, fish and chips and a bit of shopping, and a lot of talking. DS1 spoke to him on Wednesday too and has since watched Doctor Who with him, and then spent the day with him today as he was off school ill and I was going out. Now for working out when he is coming back, and making it work when he does. It will be strange, and probably a bit difficult I think. Am a bit weak and teary this week!

WW not so good (and as Dsis has lost 1/2 stone walking to work every day I must get back with it), am sticking with WW though, just need to find my motivation again

RGPargy · 23/04/2010 22:25

Hi Ria

Glad things are going well with DH. Walks by the sea with fish and chips (what? no hot donuts??! ) sounds lovely. It obviously did the right thing and got you two talking.

It's very difficult to keep on top of diets etc at times like this, Ria. Try not to let the situation get the better of your eating habits tho - be strong and gain control back.

Loads of people have said that i look like i'm losing weight lately. I am so thrilled! My metabolism must finally have kicked in with all the exercise I've been doing lately. That's deffo an incentive for me to keep going and to get back on track with WW from Monday. Having said that, i think i am eating better WITHOUT doing WW because i'm not constantly thinking about what i CANT eat and am naturally choosing healthier options. It's just the bloody wine that's the problem now!! No wine during the week from Monday!! Honest!!

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 24/04/2010 00:00

I agree, I must get back in control, because I have proved I can do it. (though it was far easier when I was having to make myself eat)

it's funny, I'm not sure if we passed hot donuts (there was nothing but sea and sand for the 2 hours we were walking)... would have been rude to refuse the fish and chips though!

am giving myself the weekend off though, as I have a few things to get my head around, without worrying about food. do you think wine with healthy choices is better than no wine with unhealthy ones? what about alternate nights? (cannot face giving up altogether!!!)

am still of the comments you are getting though (but well done). people have said I "look well", but what does that mean? it could be "you look well considering..." or "you look well, have you lost weight?", or anything really...

have a great weekend! Monday will be here before we know it!

Riapentatleisure · 24/04/2010 00:03

bugger, those bolds should have been italics ...

RGPargy · 24/04/2010 21:17

I just love it when you have to force yourself to eat lol.

Deffo would have been rude to NOT have fish and chips! (or a jumbo sausage & chips, in my case lol).

I dont take much notice of diets at the weekend either (she says, rubbing her belly full of chinese). I think healthy choices and wine would be much better than unhealthy choices and no wine!!

Looking well is a difficult one to define isn't it. It normally means that you look healthy/radiant so i would assume that it means that!!

I've had a rubbish week, food and drink-wise but aim to be back on track from Monday. I have shopped for the coming week's meals and have included a nice big salad and some "summer veg" (green beans and babycorn lol) and some delicious new potatoes with herbs and butter (pre-bought).

Step class tomorrow morning! Note to self : do not drink too much vodka tonight!

Have a nice evening Ria!

Hi ladies

Sorry it has been so long since I have been on here. All my saved threads have disappeared and I feel lost on the boards!

Ria ? how are things with your DH now? Things seem really rough for you at the moment. I hope DS1 one a good birthday.

RGPargy ? you do put me to shame with all your exercise. That?s great news on all the comments you are getting.

Pheonix ? Hi and welcome. Sorry to hear that you have lost your confidence but good luck with the new diet.

RGPargy · 30/04/2010 22:39

Hi Mummymels!

How are you? How have you been doing? Nice to "see" you again!

OP posts:
Riapentatleisure · 30/04/2010 22:49

hi Mels. how are you? good to see you back, would be good to have a busier thread!

things with DH are a bit confusing TBH. He was due in hospital last weekend, but it was postponed and is now the weekend after the bank holiday, and due to commitments he has made to work and other stuff he is adamant he is not coming back until afterwards. DS1 (having been through several operations that he can remember) is keen (like DH) that he should not come back until he is fully recovered. But I am feeling all sorts of things - that the longer it is left the harder it will be, amongst other things etc... and today feel like we may have actually missed that boat, and am being a complete cow and not replying to texts etc.
It is a truly stupid situation!

Sorry, you did not need that! This is a weight loss thread, not relationships!!!

diet gone to pot, and now it's a dratted bank holiday...

have a good one girls!

Jammyrella · 02/05/2010 19:04

Can I come back???

Have really not been in the right frame of mind for being healthy for some months now, but it seems to have fallen into place this week. Partly spurred by a new pair of trousers not fitting and partly due to beginning to get my head straight (have been having counselling) and feeling somewhat more upbeat. The upshot is that apart from a couple of transgressions midweek (one planned, one unplanned) I have managed a week of healthy, nutritious meals. Plus I did half an hour of exercise this morning

Have only read the last few posts (very few) but well done RGPargy!
