Hi ladies!

Thought it might be nice to have a new thread for the new(ish) year.

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 02/07/2010 18:26

am boosting my calorie intake tonight

it's so hot i need beer!

am risking the wrath of DH but have allowed DS1 to go to youth club, despite his grounding. He has almost finished tidying his room since last night, amd he dried and washed the dishes this morning. And having spoken to the school it turns out it wasn't glue he threw out of the window anyway, it was just dirty water. Not that that makes it better as such, but dirty water is not the same as glue in any way, and he has spent the whole day in uniform in isolation (it was charity fundraising day, and no uniform) and he did an hours detention with the caretaker after school (who was one of those "give him a boiler suit and the power goes to his head" types)

if only I had to struggle to get in my size 10s! (if I was that thin i would look ill)

Riadingbetweenthelines · 05/07/2010 10:07

somehow I managed to lose 2lb this week. Still around 4/5 of what I have regained to lose though

went walking with my parents in the forestry yesterday. My Dad clocked 4.5miles on his counter, my mum 4, and my bloody stupid thing said half a mile, so I'm going with my Dads, just had an hour walk back from the school run too, with DS3 on his scooter, so feel quite today. Lots of tedious housework to do now so I can justify going to the moors tomorrow if the weather is good.

have a good week

lemontop · 05/07/2010 11:53

Hi! Thanks for the welcome

Well done on loss Ria.

Well it's weigh in day today and I've lost 6lb. woo hoo. I'm really pleased although that usually happens the first week of a diet. I'm sticking with the Tesco GI diet as have really liked the food and rarely felt hungry (although am starving now waiting for my lunch!)It's 1500 calorie allowance which seems ok.

Need to do some exercise really but am a bit limited to walking as can't really get out to the gym.

only 4 stone 10 to go. Sigh!

Riadingbetweenthelines · 05/07/2010 13:37

well done lemontop, that's a fab loss

RGPargy · 06/07/2010 22:35

Well done on your losses Ria and Lemontop!! I have also managed to lose 2lb this week and - get this - my bodypump instructor said to me on Monday that i was looking trimmer and had deffo looked like i had lost weight! I am really chuffed about that because i have been working out really hard and have been quite good foodwise too. To say i was chuffed to bits is an understatement!!

I now have a goal to aim for too. I have booked up to go and see my mum in Spain for a long weekend over the August Bank Holiday! I haven't seen her for 18 months so it will be fab to see her. Plus i am going with my sister so i'm really excited about that, despite her phobia of flying lol. woohoo!! Really excited!!

Riadingbetweenthelines · 06/07/2010 22:46

good for you RG. All fab

Riadingbetweenthelines · 06/07/2010 22:48

walked 7.5miles on the moors today...

and have had crisps

but if my useless pedometer is right, and I had really burned off the calories it said for the distance it said I'd done (distance short by 6 miles), then the crisps should even out OK (but I don't want "even" I want minus!!!)

doing much better with the WW though

have a great week guys.

RGPargy · 07/07/2010 09:51

Wow, Ria, 7.5 miles is v impressive!! Well done!!

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 07/07/2010 10:16

thank you. it wasn't too bad going, just the last 20 mins with the pushchair were hard, but it was a steep drop (going upwards) and not out of the pushchair walks book!

really want to go again today

am determined to do one of the Dales 3 peaks this summer, so am trying to get the boys used to walking at least 3 mile stretches, so we should manage it with plenty of stops.

RGPargy · 08/07/2010 23:08

Did you get to go again?

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 09/07/2010 09:16

no. trying to fit in a bit extra on the school run, but it's not a lot. Am being really good food-wise up to now (I suppose being skint and stressed has it's advantages)

weekend tomorrow though, might try somewhere different this week. DS1 wants to go to football training tomorrow, so maybe we will walk to the beach or something, rather than driving far.

Riadingbetweenthelines · 11/07/2010 12:08

4lb off this week, though I am irrationally disappointed with that

lemontop · 13/07/2010 01:41

Well done Ria that's brilliant.

3.5lb for me and I was somehow hoping for more?!

Riadingbetweenthelines · 13/07/2010 10:49

IKWYM lemontop. silly really as 4 was my goal for the week, thinking I would maybe manage 2! My friend is taking orlistat and lost 5lb the first week and 6lb the second, so I suppose I am . I don't think it's the tabs that are doing it though, she has radically changed her diet.

Am a bit slow to start this week. Have steak for tonight (that we should have had on "treat day" but were too lazy to cook so had a sanwich instead) and I have a yearning for pizza, though will try to fit that in tomorrows points allowance. No major walking this week as need to crack on with housework (was meant to be decorating the bedroom today but ...aren't)

I REALLY WANT A BACON SARNIE!!!!!

good luck for the week

RGPargy · 13/07/2010 14:29

Well done on your losses ladies!!

I weighed myself yesterday and i had put on the 2lb that i lost last week, however when i weighed myself again this morning, i had lost another 3lb OFF last week's weight!! I am hoping that today's weight is the real one, given all the crap i am not eating and the amount of exercise i am doing!!

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 13/07/2010 20:13

todays is DEFINITELY the weight you are RG. well done.

RGPargy · 13/07/2010 20:45

Thanx Ria!

Been really good food-wise lately. Bought DS a birthday cake yesterday and so far he's the only one that's had any! To top it off, it's a CHOCOLATE cake!! I really want some but also i really dont want any lol.

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 15/07/2010 13:39

well done RG.

I am not having a good week foodwise, but it's not that bad either (i aren't counting points but I'm not stuffing my face either)
Am a bit snowed under with laundry and housework and studying, food isn't top of my priorities. Don't suppose I'll manage my pre-holiday goal though

RGPargy · 17/07/2010 22:50

How's it going now Ria? Have you got on top of your housework? I'm never on top of mine, there's always so much to do so generally i dont bother lol.

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 19/07/2010 09:30

nope, not on top of anything, and to add insult to injury have gained 2lb

have a manic week of housework, washing and packing as we go away on Saturday, and already I'm at stressed and exhausted wanting to cry point!

I did getmy second essay submitted, but I have loads of reading to catch up on, and another one due on 1st Sept (when I was planning to go away again) pah.

have a good week.

RGPargy · 20/07/2010 14:35

Oh no, never mind Ria. Just put it down to stress and try not to dwell on it. Hopefully you'll be able to refuel when you go away on Saturday. Perhaps you could catch up on some reading on your hols? Where are you off to?

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 20/07/2010 16:34

thanks RG. we are going to the Dales again.
Am really dreading the holidays TBH, today it is my fault that DS1 doesn't have any grey trousers the right colour to match his top, cannot cope with 6 weeks of his attitude

RGPargy · 23/07/2010 10:19

Oh blimey Ria. Kids are so cruel aren't they. DS is 20 and i still get the blame for things that go wrong and i'm always "having a go" at him for everything, which translated actually means i have asked him to do (or not to do!) something, i.e. actually put the sheet on his bed that i gave him instead of sleeping on a bare mattress (and ruining it!). Gosh, i am such a BAD mum!!

Dont let DS get to you. Boys are daft.

OP posts:
RGPargy · 29/07/2010 21:38

Hope you're enjoying your holiday Ria!!

OP posts:
Riadingbetweenthelines · 30/07/2010 20:29

thanks RG. It was mostly hell on earth TBH, DS1 was a shite, DS2 and he were constantly bickering...
have been SO good with the weight watchers, I had better be lighter
