dc3 is nearly 4m. From past experience, I know that my baby weight tends to drop off once I start weaning ... but am quite keen to get a head start this time round.

Anyone in the same boat and fancy joining me? could use the support!!

Morning all

09/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg
30/01/10 - 86.3kg
06/02/10 - 85.2kg
13/02/10 - 84.6kg
20/02/10 - 83.8kg

Weight still coming off nice and regularly, and still BFing DD who is 3 months old now.

Think the trick is regularly eating 1600-1800 calories a day, combined with walking about 2 miles a day, and Davina once or twice a week.

I'm still waiting to start running and playing badminton - DD is only just getting into a decent bedtime routine, and DS has been a monkey going to bed as well. DD has a massive feed at 7, and then usually wakes up again at 9-9:30 for a top up. It's usually about 10pm before the kids are properly tucked away in bed, and then it's our bedtime! When the clocks change I will definitely be running though - it's not worth it at the moment in the dark with all the dog poo on the pavements .

My "reward" for my weight loss will be a tattoo on my foot/calf, which I'm starting to plan already - very excited.

bedhed · 25/02/2010 13:32

Hello all, and welcome to the new people. Well I have finally weighed myself and have lost 9lbs since january so I am very happy. Weight as of yesterday, 10 stone exactly, so nearly halfway.

I have still not started running, cold weather, dark nights putting me off a bit (excuses, excuses...). But will try and start next week. I know this will really make a difference to my weight loss.

LTEC very impressed with your fitness regime, must be really helping. Neatha, your weight loss is very impressive! well done.

Hey all

Sorry, meant to say welcome to the new peeps but forgot! Hi guys!

Had a very good week, not sure how as I've eaten KFC, take away pizza and fish and chips! I guess the LipoBind must work to some extent. Exercise wise I've started playing badminton which was LOTS of fun, and I went for my first run on Thursday night. I ACHE now!!

Getting lots of comments on weight loss as well, which is great - really boosting my confidence

Stick with it peeps, it's well worth it

Ninjacat · 03/03/2010 15:38

Please can I join?
DS2 is 3mnths tomorrow and I have gained 3st since I became pg
I keep putting off weight loss because I'm breastfeeding but have found the motivation to tackle the issue before it gets any more out of hand.

I'm 5'8". Happiest weighing 11st but weighed in today at 14st 2lb

Could really do with the support to keep me going - think it's going to be a long slog.

Naetha · 06/03/2010 15:49

Hey Ninjacat

You're in exactly the same situation as I was when I started - i.e 14st2lb and 5'8" - now I'm 12stone 8lbs 9 weeks later.

09/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg
30/01/10 - 86.3kg
06/02/10 - 85.2kg
13/02/10 - 84.6kg
20/02/10 - 83.8kg
27/02/10 - 82.0kg
06/03/10 - 81.5kg

I'm still in 2 minds about the lipobind - I'm consistently losing weight while eating more than I should, but I don't know if that's BF or Lipobind. I know last time I was BFing I didn't lose any weight at all, so I guess it must be helping somewhat! I've got enough faith in it that I've just bought some more.

Ninjacat - if you can make it through the first two weeks, you'll find it much easier after that. I found that after 2 weeks, 2/3 size portions for main meals (especially carbs) and reduced snacks didn't bother me at all. In fact, I've just been out for lunch and barely ate half my food, because I was full.

Then after a few weeks, you really start to notice chances - for example, when I sit in the bath, both thighs don't touch the sides any more, so I know I've lost inches off there. And if people make comments about how much weight you've lost / how great you're looking etc and that really keeps you going. If ever I feel like giving it all up, I just look of bad photos of myself, and that motivates me too.

Best of luck

Ninjacat · 07/03/2010 18:47

Thanks Naetha. It's so good to know I'm not alone.

I hope I can do as well as you.

I've stopped eating chocolate and bread and trying to stick to 3 meals a day. I am beginning to feel better if nothing else.

What is Lipobind?

Naetha · 07/03/2010 22:31

It's meant to stop fat being absorbed into the body, similar to Alli / Xenical. However, it's herbal so the side effects (nasty poos) aren't so bad.

Like I said, I'm still in 2 minds about whether it works or not, but I'm happy to give it the benefit of the doubt for another month.

Hopefully you'll find that cutting out bread helps an awful lot, or at least going on to wholemeal. I still eat chocolate almost ever day, but never have more than 4 squares, and not if I've had another treat (packet of crisps, piece of cake etc). It's just a case of making sure everything's in moderation. It's a marathon rather than a sprint, and although I want to lose my weight as quickly as possible, I also want to make sure I stick with the healthy eating thing, so I don't mind the odd treat.

I started making soup a lot as well - it's generally filling, can have very few calories in it, and if you make it with home made stock, is really yummy. This is a great recipe: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1869/chicken-noodle-soup.

FacePalm · 08/03/2010 12:15

Hello all, I hope you do not mind if I join you late to this thread.

I have an 8 month old baby, I am not sure what I was before, as I fell pregnant with her, when my son was only 7 months old.

However, last week I stepped on the scales and I was 14 stone 3 lbs! Heavier than I was when I had my DD!

So, I have started SlimFast. It is working for me so far, as I actually have a breakfast and lunch (the meal replacement bars) as opposed to before I would barely eat in the day, then gorge of a night!

I want to lose 4 stone at first, giving me a bmi of 25, then go from there and see how I feel.

With SlimFast, it works out I have about 1300 calories a day, but, my dd is eating a lot of solids now, and has cut down on her nursing a bit, and im actually eating a lot healthier. Also, I am starting to supplement in the day with a cup of formula, as I return to work full time in a couple of months, so hope she will take from a cup while im at work. So, my cut down of calories should be ok, and cause her no effect.

Ninjacat · 09/03/2010 09:16

Welcome FacePalm. I'm new here too.

I'm still exclusively bfing so would be a bit worried about supliments but the lipobind sounds tempting.

I've not had a great few days food wise but still eating less than I was (I think). I'm going to weigh on Friday but two pairs of trousers that didn't fit a week ago now do

Ninjacat · 12/03/2010 09:18

1lb off. Grrr. Will have to try carb free breakfasts and see if it works.

Naetha · 12/03/2010 15:34

Hey 1lb is still 1lb!

Here's a quote that perked me up when I lost a pound one week after 4lbs the previous. It's from a site that has signatures that almost sign themselves and is a bit twee, but I like the sentiment all the same.

"Hello, do you know me?
If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. Want to know why?

It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat.

Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight. Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." (as if that were such a terrible thing!)

For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!!

After all, I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!"

Ninjacat · 12/03/2010 18:40

Naetha thank you

Naetha · 12/03/2010 19:55

Have you tried keeping a food diary Ninja? I found that helped a lot. It motivated me to keep my daytime snacks down. Until dinner time, all I'll eat is something like a slice of wholemeal toast and marmalade for breakfast, and then something like soup or stir fried chicken and vetg for lunch. If I can keep to that during the day, then I can (within reason) eat what I like in the evening.

Naetha · 14/03/2010 09:52

My usual update:

09/01/10 - 90.5kg

27/02/10 - 82.0kg
06/03/10 - 81.5kg
13/03/10 - 81.2kg

Still going in the right direction, although not as much as I'd like! Having said that, I had the mirena coil put in last week, so expecting my weight to fluctuate a little. Well, that and the fact I made 3 batches of biscuits this week

bedhed · 19/03/2010 12:46

hi all

well good news is that of 2 weeks ago i was 9 stone ten so nearly a stone lost since jan. Bad news is the 3 month growth spurt happened and lo has upped her feeding and night wakings since then, so any pretence of watching my diet has gone out the window. Will continue once things have calmed down and i am a little less sleep deprived!

Like the only one pound thing Naetha. Good luck to those still trying to loose weight.

I'm still slightly stunned that I'm still losing weight tbh. I've been watching what I eat less and less recently, although still been keeping my portions small, and I am exercising a lot.

Unfortunately I've had to give up badminton because it puts too much strain on my back, but will start running properly after next weekend when the clocks change.

I am absolutely loving being thin. I haven't been this thin since I was 18, and I'm loving every aspect of it.

Keep it up guys

ladylush · 21/03/2010 22:28

Well done Naetha
Lots of tallies on this thread I notice - I am 5ft 10 and don't know what I weigh at the moment (need to buy some scales)but am in size 14 clothes and want to be in size 12. I'm not dieting as such though obviously am not pigging out. I'm going to the gym 3 x weekly.

Naetha · 27/03/2010 08:58

Sorry this is almost turning into my own personal thread - I just find it a great place to pop my weigh in results

Weight loss is slowing down completely, but thankfully still going in the right direction (just!).

In the last 10 days I have had a Wagamamma meal, a takeaway curry, a meal out curry and fish and chips, so it's no wonder I haven't lost much! Thankfully all the parental visits are over for another 4 months, so hopefully can get back on track. Also I'm starting running when the clocks change - three times a week. Well, maybe twice to start with!

Hope everybody else is still going strong

Ninjacat · 30/03/2010 19:04

Naetha you are doing brilliantly. I have fallen off the waggon big time (ate all the easter eggs I bought for family ) but we are going to make getting healthy a top family priority so hope that will help.

bedhed · 03/04/2010 16:38

well, i fell off the wagon big time too and put on a pound (choc also my downfall!). Since then dd has developed quite nasty eczema so have been dairy and soya free for the last few weeks. lost 3lbs in 10 days so was 9 stone 8 lbs last week.

Naetha · 03/04/2010 19:30

Oops I fell off the wagon big time this week!

20/03/10 - 80.5kg
27/03/10 - 80.2kg
03/04/10 - 81.2kg

Been a hectic few weeks, and I've been eating less and less carefully, and this week I've totally binged, so no surprise I've put weight on.

SO my diet re-starts today. Take aways and meals out are back down to one a week. No more biscuits and cakes - home made or otherwise. Chocolate and crisps go back in the cupboard. Lunches are going to go back to very small portions or no-carb, and dinners are going to be much smaller too.

Fingers crossed this will have just been a blip, and I'll get back on track to hitting 75kg.

What's interesting, is that as I've eaten more junk, I've been craving it more, so really going to cut down on that.

MaLopez · 04/04/2010 19:39

@Naetha. When I read your first post, I could have sworn you were me except that it was 3 months ago. Well done!

Have a 4 month old and breastfeeding exclusively and started a low gi/calorie counted diet recently. Good but I prefer low carb as I am used to it.

About to start again and will be using this board as encouragement. Did you find that low carbing affected breastfeeding. That's my only fear at the mo as I was looking to start induction 20g of carbs but did not want to stop breastfeeding yet.

ps. Hello all

Naetha · 05/04/2010 09:23

I've found no change in my milk to be perfectly honest. At one point I thought my dieting might be to blame for the fact that DD needed top ups, but these were still necessary even when I was eating plenty, and I think had more to do with the fact that she feeds every 4 hours which my boobs can't seem to handle!

Thankfully my last weigh-in was just a blip as three days later I'm on 79.7kg this morning. I guess it must have just been water retention after a HUGE chinese take away we had

Naetha · 05/04/2010 09:24

Sorry, meant to start my post with a Hi MaLopez

Naetha · 10/04/2010 16:04

Sorry, back to my own personal thread again!

09/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg
30/01/10 - 86.3kg
06/02/10 - 85.2kg
13/02/10 - 84.6kg
20/02/10 - 83.8kg
27/02/10 - 82.0kg
06/03/10 - 81.5kg
13/03/10 - 81.2kg
20/03/10 - 80.5kg
27/03/10 - 80.2kg
03/04/10 - 81.2kg
10/04/10 - 79.6kg

Thankfully I got over the blip (I think it was just water retention tbh) and I'm back on track. Still not massively fast, but getting there slowly and steadily.

How's everyone else doing?
