dc3 is nearly 4m. From past experience, I know that my baby weight tends to drop off once I start weaning ... but am quite keen to get a head start this time round.

Anyone in the same boat and fancy joining me? could use the support!!

i usually weigh first thing in the morning, in a nightie/pj's

I am advoiding the weighing scales this week, my sister was here for 2 days and we pigged out comfort ate.

I am hoping to go back to Aqua aerobics next week (i have not been to a class for the last 3 years)

bedhed · 21/01/2010 13:51

Hi all, well yesterday had around 1600 cals according to food focus and that included half a bar of green and blacks! DD cluster feeding in evening so choc is a good psychological boost...

Letthemeatcake the address is www.foodfocus.co.uk/home.php (sorry not link) - it allows you to put in all your food and exercise for the day and calculates total cals etc. Interesting but i can see that it could become obsessive

good news about the weight loss hobgoblin! sure all those clothes weigh couple pounds at least! oh dear baby crying, must go

hobbgoblin · 21/01/2010 15:44

the food focus thing is fab - I'ce used in the past but had forgotten about it so thanks for the reminder bedhead

My allowance is 938 calories a day apparently which seems not very much at all - especially when you realise waaaaay before 8pm that you have had most of your allowance already despite being 'good' (ish)

Naetha · 23/01/2010 08:45

Morning all - Saturday is my weigh in day, and I've lost just over 2lbs, which gives me a total weight loss of 8lbs in 2 weeks 25lbs to go to get to my target weight and a healthy BMI.

9/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg

GoldenSnitch · 26/01/2010 12:35

6 week check tomorrow and then I'll be starting the diet.

Best eat all the leftover Christmas chocolate today then ;)

turtle23 · 26/01/2010 12:50

Can I join? DS is 10 weeks and my lovely sister is getting married on a beach in Mexico in 10 more weeks. THANKS, SIS!
Must lose a stone and tone mounains of flab in time for swimsuit...well...hoping to at least fit into one.

Naetha · 27/01/2010 10:04

Anyone know the best way of losing the crepe-paper tummy? Losing half a stone on top of losing my baby weight just gives me about 3 square feet of extra skin over my tummy - very attractive!

I've started doing sit-ups in the hope that I can at least try and find my stomach muscles, and my Davina DVD should arrive tomorrow!

LetThemEatCake · 27/01/2010 21:14

hi everyone. My new scales arrived and I'm weighing in at 11stone. Not bad, but not the 10 that I want to be (although I'd settle for 10 stone 7 for now...)

have been doing my Davina workout on alternate days, and running the others. Did 5 miles on Sunday morning which felt fabulous

today, have eaten
a gluten-free roll with cheese
2 bananas
some dates
a carrot
a satsuma
and about fall off the no-carbs after 5 wagon with a dinner of wheat-free pasta, cherry toms, broccoli and salmon.

how's everyone else doing?

Naetha · 28/01/2010 19:38

Wow LTEC you're doing really well!

I'm trying not to go overboard with the dieting, mainly because I want it to be a long term sustainable weight loss/management rather than a yo yo diet.

Today I've eaten:
Crunchy nut cornflakes with skimmed milk (DS insisted I have that rather than all-bran...)
A currant slice
A slice of wholemeal toast with half a can of beans on (surprisingly filling)
A treat size dairy milk
A 2/3 size portion of sweet and sour roast pork with rice.

That's brought me up to 1400 calories, so taking into account the 45 minutes I spent lugging the P&T around to NCT toddler group I have 350 "free" calories to eat to stay on track for my 2lbs per week weight loss.

God how anal does that all sound!

I am enjoying using food focus, not least because it shows me how many "hidden" calories are in some of the foods I eat.

hobbgoblin · 29/01/2010 16:19

Hi All!

I have had loads of stress and no internet so not been eating much at all. I weighed myself today and am 9st 4lb so have lost around 10lbs since my first post on the thread.

I have no appetite and feel like poo but can actually fit some clothes now.

hobbgoblin · 01/02/2010 10:01

Where's everyone gone? Have you all shrunk to nothing?!

mamasunshine · 02/02/2010 22:32

Hi, can i join I'm bf ds2 7 months old. Think approx 10stone (which I've stayed at for about 6 months ) I'm 5ft4 and would really like to lose 1 stone! But really need some motivation. General eating habits are very good, however I just can't get through the day without chocolate. Must break this bad habbit. Do you weigh-in on a particular day? Will weigh myself in the morning and have a fresh start with NO chocolate and LOTS of willpower!!

turtle23 · 03/02/2010 08:30

Have just ordered Davina...is it worth it?

mamasunshine · 03/02/2010 10:18

Hi, weight 9st11lb...very pleased I've budged from that 10st mark So target weight is 9stone! Have been too busy to eat yet, but going to make porridge with grated apple and cinnamon now, yummy!

turtle I've heard a lot of positives about the Davina DVD's, I'm thinking of buying them. Let me know how you get on with them!

I'm also thinking about starting up running in March...giving myself a month to motivate myself!!

Naetha · 03/02/2010 15:55

Davina is fab! I've got the Box Set Two www.amazon.co.uk/Davina-Super-Body-Workout-Energy/dp/B001X22X5Y and I really like it.

I've eased up on the dieting slightly, and really increased my exercise - walking about 1-2 miles every day with a fully loaded Phil and Ted's and doing crunches, press ups, leg raises and my postnatal pilates exercises religiously every evening. I'm also hoping to start playing badminton with a friend soon as soon as I pick up my racquet off freecycle!

Hopefully this motivation will last, as I'm really enjoying it - I feel fitter and better than I have done for what feels like years. I've also noticed my clothes a lot baggier - looking forwards to wearing my first size 14 jeans for 5 years

My loss since I started:

9/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg
30/01/10 - 86.3kg

turtle23 · 04/02/2010 06:29

Woohoo! After a week of not looking at scales I have gone from 69.5 to 68! Must be the baby's growth spurt eating it up! Only 6 more kg to go.

Naetha · 06/02/2010 23:21

Just posting to keep track - another good week's losses, which I'm really please with given I had fish and chips and a big roast dinner over the course of the week!

My loss since I started:

9/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg
30/01/10 - 86.3kg
06/02/10 - 85.2kg

I have been using Lipobind occasionally (after really fatty meals) this last week, and given I've had a couple of bad ones, my weight loss has been really good.

Also been sticking with Davina twice a week and walking on average about 1-2 miles a day.

Hope everyone else is doing well

turtle23 · 07/02/2010 06:01

I am really out ofshape. Did the Davina workout yesterday...well tried...gave up after 15 mins. Wimp.

bedhed · 08/02/2010 12:59

congratulations everyone on the weight loss. I have had two weeks of sickness (first DS, then me) so have not been very focused on the weight loss. However I do feel I have lost some weight (no scales here) and will try and keep things up this week. Have done a bit of Davina and at my 6 week check the doctor has said I can run (cannot do crunches yet however - shame!)

Once this sinusitis has gone I will start running, like you Naetha I would like to do more exercise rather than watching diet. turtle - hope you can keep at it with Davina you will probably see an improvement really quickly.

turtle23 · 11/02/2010 13:32

68kg last Thursday...67.4 today! And I've been easting ice cream! Breastfeeding rocks.

Naetha · 13/02/2010 08:21

Just to update for my benefit:

09/01/10 - 90.5kg
16/01/10 - 87.9kg
23/01/10 - 86.7kg
30/01/10 - 86.3kg
06/02/10 - 85.2kg
13/02/10 - 84.6kg

Feeling really fit as well, can run up the stairs no probs, and practically power walking with the P&T. My back isn't quite up to speed yet - I get a LOT of back ache after walking, but it's gone by the next day.

Still having at least one take away a week, just trying to make sure my overall calorie intake per day isn't above 1600.

Going to see Avatar today - can't wait!

willowstar · 16/02/2010 18:11

Hello everyone, if it is not too late can I join you all? Naetha, it is inspiring to read your stats so thanks for posting.

My daughter is 4.5 months old and I am 12st 5.5lbs, SOB. I have gained 4lbs in the last 7 weeks and I just don't understand it. I joined WW today and was told I am probably not eating enough (what!?!?) and have to eat 31 points. I know from doing WW before that that will feel like a lot and a big part of me thinks surely this can't work, but I am desperate so I am going to give it a whirl.

I also joined the gym today. Now my daughter has settled into a bedtimre regime (finally!) I will be able to go to the gym 3 nights a week so that should also help.

I start back at work in July and am desperate to fit back into my work clothes from before...I was a happy size 12 (now pushing an 18) and 10st 4 to 7lb.

I feel unbelievably bad about myself and absolutely hate the way I look right now. It is the one thing that makes me want to stop breast feeding, but I won't do that, I just have to work out how to lose weight while doing it,.

Oh and all the guff I read about BF helping you to lose weight??? So dissapointed!

Druidmama · 18/02/2010 14:04

Can I join in too please? Am bfing DD1 3.6yrs and DD2 11mths...I'm 13stone exactly, having already lost 3 stone from pre-pregnancy weight! I'm currently between a 16 and a 14, my 16s are falling off me, but 14s are too small..tis annoying!

My aim is 10stone, which will put me at the top of my healthy BMI.

Today I have eaten...(I'm vegan and try to eat high raw)

Half a galia melon for breakfast
Raw almond and cauliflower curry for lunch

Tea is daal soup and homemade spelt bread, the issue being not eating all the sodding bread!

Snacking after the girls are in bed is my downfall...I plan hummus on toast tonight to make me feel full!

Rugbylovingmum · 18/02/2010 18:47

Hi all,

can I join in too. DD is 4.5 months and I really need to do something. I was pretty overweight before my pregnancy (5ft4 and 13 stone) and I was very careful not to put too much more on. I was only 5lb heavier a week after the birth but since then I have piled on another 5lb eating too many cakes while breastfeeding . I am totally sick of wearing size 16/18 clothes and would love to get into a 12 or 14 comfortably. I'm not following any particular diet yet, just trying to cut down and make better choices. I am walking lots and have a couple of 'fitness' games for the wii but I'm finding it tough to fit in any real exercise. I'd love to get back to some running so I might have to try jogging with the pram.

I have a habit of giving up after a week so I'm hoping this thread will help me stay on track. Good luck to us all!

LetThemEatCake · 18/02/2010 20:26

hi everyone, been ages since I posted, the dcs have been sick and my mind has been scattered. Well done to all, sounds like there;s a lot of weight dropping off!! I'm down to 10st 11 now so am 4lb off 'acceptable' and 11lb off "woo hoo"

have been running 6-8 km every 2nd day (thanks to dh tweakinng work hours to look after the dcs while I go) and doing davina on alternate days so am feeling very fit and, as I've said before, I know from exp with dcs 1 &2 that the last 7lb will fall off once weaning commences ... so no drama.

Right, must go and eat dinner!
