Hiya,

Am starting Monday, I have not weighed myself yet and think I probably need to loose close to 3 stone but am aiming for 2 by end of March.

Will weigh myself in here on Monday and update each Monday after.
Anyone want to join me?

Here's to us all fitting into whatever we want in 2010.

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:09

plus I find it really hard to eat soup with out lots of white bread and butter

Lots of tuna salad here, grilled chicken salad, the odd baked spud as a treat.

Tuna salad's good, protein fills you up.

I am weighing in tomorrow at WW. Not looking forward to it, I think I am way over 13 stone.

ChunkyKitKat · 03/01/2010 13:12

Oh, I've though the same think Dis. I wanted ShakenNotStirred but it's already taken.

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:12

I can't decide whether to go to WWs or not,

not really got the money (how much is it now?) but theres one quite local, during the day so perfect for me

most cov garden soups are 2/3p per 1/2 cartoon

heinz do a chicken noodle soup where is 2p per tin (400g)

good to tide away hunger pangs

dischanted YOU will fit in your skirt again xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 13:16

dischanted i do ww at home alone - i REFUSE to pay someone £5 a week to weigh me

i did it before at home on my own and will do it again!!

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:16

Hi Bexaa, love your name

Yup all down to these bloody kids isn't it?! It was mostly pregnancy that did it for me but then just being a SAHM I'm in the kitchen snacking way too much.

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:17

I don't know how it works though blondes!

all th points and stuff, am clueless

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 13:21

then go for one meeting, get the books and gumpf and then dont return - there are often free registratons coupons in mags after xmas saving you £15

i am using books from 6years ago, assume food points are the same

you are allowed 2 holidays breaks, but if you dont turn up one week, you have to pay double the next, you dont just pay for the sessions you go to iyswim- so unless you can go every week you will be paying for something you cant use

or join online

unless you need to have the fear support of having someone weigh you each week

ChunkyKitKat · 03/01/2010 13:22

I'm inclined to agree with Blondes, Weightwatchers has worked for me in the past but I'm finding now I am not quite committing to it. If I stick to healthy eating at meal times it works out more or less the same.

Welcome Bexaa, we'll all get there.

LoveMyGirls · 03/01/2010 13:35

I'm just adding a few notes so I can remind myself of all the things that helped me last time.

Why do I want to lose weight?
So that I can fit comfortably into my clothes and enjoy looking and feeling good So I don't have to go out and buy bigger clothes!
I don't want to waste all the effort I put in losing 4 and a half stone last time.
I want to do it when I only have 1 stone to lose.

You lose fat through wee so remember to drinks loads of water or squash and less tea.

Do little things like choosing a healthier option when you go out to dinner so instead of steak and chips have steak and jacket potato.

Eat porridge for breakfast with cinnamon and raisens in. It keeps me full until lunchtime and stops me snacking on biscuits mid morning.

When I feel the need to snack I brush my teeth or run up and down the stairs instead and then if I still want to snack have fruit or low fat yogurt or ww cake.

Chew food more.

Look for signals that I'm full (I sigh and lean back when I've had enough but often I carry on eating anyway) and don't eat the whole plate just because I dont want to waste money, it's goingt o be even more of a waste if I have to replace all my clothes!

Treat myself on a friday night with something I have missed during the week.
Reward myself every half a stone (when I get to 10 stone I'm going to buy new underwear as mine is looking shabby)

I must do 30 mins of exercise 4 days a week, my chosen days are going to be Mon, Tue, Thu and Sat.

I will do this.

moomaa · 03/01/2010 13:36

I'd like to join in please, I'm another shortie and I was 10 stone 7lbs on Friday but I will weigh again on Monday to be the same day as everyone else. Hopefully it will be less as I have been pretty good this weekend.

My clothes are starting to get too tight and I know it bothers DH who is a skinny bum.

I'm going to try only having yoghurts and fruit as snacks and smaller dinners and lots of water. If that doesn't work I'm going to try weight watchers. I don't really want to pay for that so hopefully that will motivate! I have done Slimming World after I had DS and it did work but it was boring after a bit.

I'd like to loose a stone then will see.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 13:47

really? i drink and pee loads

Murtette · 03/01/2010 14:35

I second Blondes' suggestion of measuring yourself too. When I did WW before I got pregnant, I seemed to lose inches faster than I lost weight which cheered me up as, ultimately, I'm more concerned about how easily I can get into my clothes than about a number on a set of scales.

I'm doing a shop tomorrow but won't be re-joining WW until Weds - can someone remind me what the 0 point veg are? I'll be making huge vats of 0 point soup again.

Good luck everyone! Here's to looking (more) gorgeous in 2010.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 14:39

most veg are o point except sweet pots, normal pots, parsnip, peas, sweetcorn, broad beans and yams

hope i havent left one out

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 14:43

Will do mesurements too, will def not be posting them though!

Kayzr · 03/01/2010 15:16

Dis, WW worked for me really well. I am probably not going to the meetings. It depends if this thread gives me the will power I need, but once I started doing WW at home I put all the weight back on. So I might need to go to the meetings so I get a kick up the bum.

It is good to maybe go to 2-3 meetings and get all the stuff.

This website has all the points for restaurants etc so if you are having to go for a meal you can work out your points.

JODIEwantsanewname · 03/01/2010 15:16

I know most of you aren't reallly starting until tomorrow, but just wondered how you are all getting on?

I went out for dinner last night/late afternoon and had a Chicken salad for a starter and steak and chips for main (apart from the chips, it's all free food on SW) - NO PUD!!!! (also no garlic bread, even though the DS's had some and left some, I passed it down the table and let my skinny friend polish it off! )

Today I had a bowl of special K for breakfast, a ham and tomato roll (whole wheat roll) and an apple for lunch. I've also got lamb chops, boiled potatoes and veg for dinner. yum. I can't believe most of what I've eaten is 'free' with SW!

DH and I have also taken the DS's and the dog for a 4 mile walk after lunch. Was cold but stunning!

I didn't realise you lost fat through weeing!!! I just knew that you can sometimes mistake hunger for thirst, so if you are peckish then have a glass of water first to see if that helps.

ChunkyKitKat · 03/01/2010 15:30

I'm not doing brilliantly today Jodie, but DH will hide any chocolates left in the house and will start healthy eating.

I will post tomorrow with my weight and will also measure, but like Dis can't face posting those!

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 15:30

Decided to go to WW tomorrow, its just another way of keeping me on track

plus will take that weight as gospel rather than my doubting home scales

OP posts:
ChunkyKitKat · 03/01/2010 15:31

Lovemygirls, thanks for sharing your tips with us, I will start porridge for breakfast after I've gone shopping.

Why do we have to cut back on tea?

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 15:37

I won't be weighing in until after 2pm now cause Im going to go by my WW weight,

so who ever weighs first in the morning should just start it off in the

Disenchanted3, start weight : xxx, target xxx. Current weight xxx. Total loss to date xxx.

style ?
