Hiya,

Am starting Monday, I have not weighed myself yet and think I probably need to loose close to 3 stone but am aiming for 2 by end of March.

Will weigh myself in here on Monday and update each Monday after.
Anyone want to join me?

x-posts dis, thing is all scales will be different, so if you're going back to the GP then re-weighing might make you feel better as they might say less. I think the important things are to weigh using the same scales each time, and do it at the same time of day. You'll always weigh more in the evening. I tend to weigh in straight after getting up and after having a wee def before breakfast

Eddas · 02/01/2010 19:36

Glad dh will be helping you, that should make it easier. My dh also wants to lose 2 stone so we'll be having better dinners etc and I won't be that he's eating a curry and i'm having lettuce!

As an aside point, I was chatting to the nurse in Nov whilst having a checkup for the pill, and she was on about my weight, she said that it's a lot to do with portion sizes and what you eat rather than lack of exercise. I'm trying to get my portions back to the same size as when I lived at home and I was 9 1/2-10 stone, I definately ate less size wise.

BusyMummyof3 · 02/01/2010 19:43

Can I join too! I'm not sure how much I weigh - definitely over 11 stone and I'm only 5ft 3in. Never managed to loose all the weight from first pregnancy and had two more babies since. DS was born in October and I really want to shift the excess weight as DS will be our last and I don't want to carry on looking like a Mrs Blobby!

Disenchanted - you should be proud that you have decided to do something about it and you have encouraged others to the same.

pennyrain · 02/01/2010 19:50

Yes disenchanted3 please don't worry about the scales, they're prob wrong, i chucked mine out and now use the wii fit to weigh myself...don't know how accurate that is though. Will we continue on this thread or will we start another one with our weights on monday?? Sorry so many questions..am excited to have some support! I'm looking forward to weighing myself. NOT. am approx 3 st and possibly more overweight, will let you know, was always effortlessly 9 stone until motherhood!! See you all monday then

morethanyoubargainfor · 02/01/2010 19:56

i have just weighed myself, an i have put on 4lb over the last 3 weeks. I also use my wii to weigh myself.

I am really worried now as I have my induction on Monday afternoon at the gym. All my vital statistics are going to be stored on my chip! I have recently lost 1 st 4lbs but its not enough! I also have a 40km walk to do in may accross the south downs so that is my motivation.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2010 20:19

i half hearted on last years thread but gave up

i lost 4 stone in 11mths on ww 6years ago and kept it off for 4/5years but has been creeping on recently and have weighed and put on half of what i lost

so need to lose 2 stone

im a lb a week girl, so will prob take me 6mths (watch this space beg of july) but remember 1 lb a week is 52 a year and thats just under 4stone

i weigh on fridays and will be doing ww

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/01/2010 20:20

dischanted 2 stone by march - good luck xx

Kayzr · 03/01/2010 07:50

Morning,

Today is my last day of eating rubbish. I did buy some rice cakes, celery and low fat soft cheese yesterday to eat when I feel peckish.

I do think my biggest problem is snacking so I do hope that they will help me.

twinset · 03/01/2010 08:49

Hi all

I would like to join too - going to weigh in tomorrow morn - really not sure what I weigh but I def have at least a stone to shift.

I am planning to cut out snacks except fruit, have yoghurt or cearel breakfast, soup or salad lunch and usual tea but less carbs as i tend to eat late. Also going to limit the wine to fri/sat nights

I am also going to do as much running as possible 30mins jog + 50 sit-ups is my session and i want to do that a minimum of 3 x per week but pref more.

Good luck everyone - i'll post back tomorrow with the dreaded weigh-in!

mozette · 03/01/2010 08:51

Morning!

Tesco delivery coming today so like kayzr I will be mostly eating rubbish until it arrives with my healthy stuff

Anyone got any tips for lunches since I am cutting down on carbs?

shockers · 03/01/2010 09:15

Hi, I'd like to join in too please!

Have eaten and drunk (wine is my downfall) far too much and have managed to pile on half a stone that I really could have done without considering I was already overweight.

Back at work on wed and plan to get up 45 mins earlier and walk every day.

No wine at all through january and then dry for 5 days of the week and in strict moderation at weekends.

No picking at sweet stuff that I don't even really like but I do it because I'm bored.

Good luck everyone!

bebejones · 03/01/2010 10:04

Weighed myself and really wish I hadn't! Put on all the weight I managed to lose before I got ill this September! Really cross with myself. Now got nearly 3 & a half stone to lose before May!

Have got a Panettone cake to use up before I can start, I cannot bear to give it away throw it away let DH eat it alone!! Promise to start as soon as it is 'disposed' of! Will only have a couple of slices. Then it is strictly salad from then on!

MrsMorgan · 03/01/2010 10:37

I am really worried that I am not going to have the willpower to do this

Weighed myself last night and am the heaviest I have ever been

Tomorrow is my start date, and we don't have much food in until the shopping comes on Tuesday, so not sure exactly what I will eat, but will not be having any bread.

Sainsburys had Covent Garden soups on special so I got a few of those, salad stuff, cous cous and lots of eggs. Just have to leave the bread alone.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/01/2010 12:05

I already feel embarrassed by posting my weight tomorrow. I would never normally tell anyone something like that.

However I fully intend to get over this embarrassment!

kurves · 03/01/2010 12:10

disenchanted3 please can you let me know if your going to start a new thread tomorrow so that i will know where to go i have started to watch what i eat so i will be prepared mentally. As for the wii fit sold out everywhere the only place that i saw it was on play.com at around $78 that's the wii fit plus and it was a 2 week wait for delivery i decided that i will leave it for now. i will ring my trainer this week so i can get some sessions in as i have already paid for 6 sessions with him.

do not worry too much in have put on a stone in 2 months i do not know how iam going to do it but last year i was 11 9lbs. I an so embarrassed but i will lose it going to do some exercise when i finish on the computer. good luck and i will put my weight on with everyone else in the morning.

Please do not forget to let us know if you are starting a new thread.

K75 · 03/01/2010 12:18

Ah yes please; put on 5 pounds over xmas on top of the baby weight yikes. 2 stone minimum over here and pref 2 and a half. Oh dear...could be a very long few cold months.

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 12:26

I think we may as well stay here rather than starting another thread

kurves I'll just start the list off tomorrow morning then just add yourselves after weigh in.

mrsmorgan I bet everyone feels like that, its hard work and a big commitment. I think its also quite scary to tell yourself you are about to try and do it because if you don't suceed its a big failure and embaressment, I know that personally

But we are all here, and all doing the same things, with the same worries and the same temptations, so just keep posting someone will be here to listen!

ratherbeonthepiste I nearly died last night posting mine

But it has to be done. And the whole point of it is to make that number go down

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 12:41

mrs morgan - dont worry - we will ALL get there- take it at each 1/2stone at a time

good luck with weigh in tomorrow girls - i started friday so will weigh on the 8th - been very good with cereal for breakie, ommlette for lunch and ww meal and lots of veg for tea

i WILL lose this 2 stone!!!!

SparkleandShine · 03/01/2010 12:52

has any one tried that 'adios'? weight loss pill available at boots?

ChunkyKitKat · 03/01/2010 13:01

That's the spirit Blondes 1/2 stone at a time is good also we can give ourselves a treat for every 1/2 stone lost, something like flowers/beauty treatment/make up/paperback novel or whatever.

I am looking forward to being able to fit comfortably into jeans. Also fitting into my Katie Price bra I bought a while back which is too bloody small.

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:01

Not adios, but I e acti-slim, like I said before I can't prove it works for everyone but it does with me.

Possibly its psychological, as in 'im taking these pills so i WILL loose more weight.'

and also when Im paying a few quid for a bottle of them Im more likely not to cheat, that would be wasting money! haha.

I asked my GP for those 'alli' tablets, he said come back after xmas. I might go back now that Ive put ON a stone - he was telling me to try and LOOSE some weight over xmas! like thats gonna happen!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 13:04

i have a lovely pair of suede brown trousres that cost the earth are lovely and used to fit me 12/18mths ago so my aim is to get back into them

rememeber to measure yourself in 4 places and then re measure every 4 weeks

hips, waist, top of leg, top of arm

sometimes you dont lose weight but lose inches

obv i want to lose my 2 stone but as long as i can get back into my trousres then i will be happy

ChunkyKitKat · 03/01/2010 13:06

I know someone who did get some diet pills from Boots and she said they made her feel full. No idea why they work - could be psychological.

I also meant to say there are foods that are supposed to make you feel fuller, something to do with GI index. I know stuff like porridge and basmati rice are good.

Mrs Morgan I also remember watching a BBC programme a while ago and they said soup keeps you feeling fuller for longer. I keep meaning to make big batches of soup but I have noticed those Covent Garden ones are good for being low in fat.

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:06

blondes i have a denim skirt from about 5 years ago

i bought it in a 'M' but from a designer shop so quite small and i have NEVER worn it, so once i can fit into that i will be a very happy bunny

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 13:08

where are the covent ones on offer? So they are lowfat?

I used to make a big pan of weight watchers 0 point soup but in all honesty it was a job to finish the pan, after a few bowls it got a bit sickening as it was so samey iykwim? So some low fat ones I can keep in the fridge would be ace, bit of variety
