Hiya,

Am starting Monday, I have not weighed myself yet and think I probably need to loose close to 3 stone but am aiming for 2 by end of March.

Will weigh myself in here on Monday and update each Monday after.
Anyone want to join me?

Right, I'm off to find a tape measure and take down my vitals!

Wish me luck!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 15:54

well done jodie for being good

i had cereal for breakie, pasta+pesto for lunch, fruit for snack and whateverww meal+veg for tea

LoveMyGirls · 03/01/2010 15:55

CKK - I cut down on tea because I like sugar in my tea so cutting down on the cups saves me quite a bit of sugar over the space of a week/ month. I've heard green tea can help your metabolism but I'm not that keen.

JaneS · 03/01/2010 16:08

Can I join please? I'm 5'5 and around 10 stone 10 (cross fingers - it's been 11 or over for ages but I have been trying lately).

Really want to get rid of at least a stone and a half - I gained it really suddenly and have delightful stretchmarks to prove it. I'm getting married in August and I'd love to be a better shape to try on dresses, so hopefully that will help motivate me!

JODIEwantsanewname · 03/01/2010 16:08

Lovemygirls, I've cut down on Coffee for that very reason (also I like my coffee milky!)

I've bought some green tea and some fruit teas as I love hot drinks. I also put cordial in boiling water and lemon slices.

Kayzr · 03/01/2010 16:15

I have also cut out coffee as I have 2 sugars with it. I am now having semi skimmed milk, I can't quite manage skimmed milk.

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 16:18

ive stopped having sugar in my tea, i had 2. have always drank semi skimmed.

will miss my sugary tea. my teeth will thank me though.

just phoned my sis and she is coming to WW too

I'd like to join in too please. I've put on half a stone over Christmas (and I've just eaten half a chocolate orange because it was there).

I'd like tomewhere between a stone and a stone and a half but relatively slowly since my milk supply began to reduce when I lost weight before Christmas. The hv did a quick change from "you should lose your baby weight within 6 months" to "you should eat more".

I'm hoping to be able to start exercising properly again too. Got an appointment with the consultant next week so hopefully he'll pass me fit to run without my insides falling out. Between running and snacking on fruit not chocolate I hope to lose weight without starving the baby!

Hellllo all - some great starts to 2010 here. What we all need to remember is that even if you have a bad day/week, we have to get back on the waggon. There's a great article in the Times today about diets failing because people don't treat it as a new way of life, and see it as a Beginning with an End. So, everyone, even those with fab figures, eat cake and stuff sometimes. They just don't eat 19 cakes or say "oh, well that's it, might as well go to the chippy now" Or use food as a crutch when happy/sad/angry etc.

I have made some good and some bad choices this weekend - but one good thing has been no wine or alcohol of any sort since 31.12.09. So, reagrdless of the cheese on toast I scoffed for lunch, I will have had less calories.

DH sick in bed today, but I am oging to go to the gym when the kids are in bed - I deserve it after entertaining them all day and doing all the housework and three weeks ironing!

Keep it up all!!!!!

Milliways · 03/01/2010 17:37

Hello everyone - just seen this and it is what I need this year.

I don't have scales but must pluck up courage to get on the scales at the sports centre Monday Evening (will try & get to Aquatone).

I have a cheap gym membership and really must use it, mainly the swimming as I have dodgy hips that prevent some exercise (excuses really).

I must try & get back ito using Fitday.co as well.

Just made chicken soup with todays carcass so that is tomorrows tea sorted (but I will want bread with it!)

FatGirlThin · 03/01/2010 17:57

Right, I'm joining too (if you don't mind!). Looks like the friend I was going to start with is backing out on me
I'm starting slimming world tomorrow - meeting at 7pm. I've done weightwatchers on and off for a few years. I lost a few stone after my ds was born but have put back on at least 1 1/2 stone (I'll find out tomorrow at weigh in).

My aims are:

I'm going to try and do SOME exercise (I hate it and I don't do ANY at the moment)

I'm going to drink more water (I'm like a camel at the moment)

I'm going to cut sugar down to a bare minimum - not any apart from a 'treat' day once a week if possible. I have NO control of myself around sweet stuff so I think I need to take a drastic step oh and I'm going to finish reading Potatoes not Prozac.

So that's it. I weigh in tomorrow. I'm aiming for 2 1/2 stone loss. When I get down to 9 1/2 stone (I'm 11 + ? stone now and am short) I'm going on a shopping spree. I REALLY need some new clothes but I will not buy 'fat' clothes.

FatGirlThin · 03/01/2010 18:15

This is the article SequinBra mentioned. It is interesting.
I love the Einstein quote ?The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results,?

I bet all of us serial dieters are guilty of that

runforit · 03/01/2010 18:15

Oh grief god I just measured myself...

Upper arm 12.5"
Bust 39"
Waist 30"
Hips (at saddlebag fattest bit) 41.5"
Thigh 24"

It's all gone pear-shaped - literally!

My WAIST used to be 24" when I was 20 odd not my bloody THIGH!!! How depressing!

Right I will suffer a weigh in tomorrow morning and watch the lard drop off!!!

takes a deep breath and goes of to google thigh exercises

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 18:24

fatgirlthin ou sound just like me, i have no control over myself when itcomes to sweet things and I barely drink water at all

runforit well done on measuring! had to have a little giggle at your thigh comment

Feeling very positive

I need to buy some cheap workout type gear, nothing too proffesional as its just for my DVDs in the house and doing runs on he field

OP posts:
runforit · 03/01/2010 18:31

Try TK Maxx for sportswear Dis - I got some lovely things in there super cheap and it def helps me exercise if I don't look like a mad bag lady out for a run!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 03/01/2010 19:01

Runforit you sound like me!!!! These are my measurments and they are not far off yours! How tall are you?

Weight 11st 7lbs
Waist 33.5in
Upper Arm (R) 12in
Top Leg (R) 24in
Bust 39in

bebejones · 03/01/2010 19:15

Why is my house still full of Christmas food?! We were given 4 tins of biscuits as presents this year, plus a tin of sweets, plus a hamper of goodies too! Have given some biscuits away (not the Belgian choccy ones coz I think it would have broken my heart!) I will not be eating any more of the Quality Street though (mostly because DH has eaten all the ones I like best). Have had to make a load of mince pies to use up the last of the mincemeat, but will try and give them to people. I really want to do this but money is so tight I feel really bad chucking food away. I don't tend to have a massively sweet tooth but like many of you bread is a weakness for me!

I consider myself to have been reasonably good today. Yoghurt for Brekkie, tiny portion of lasagne and masses of salad at my PIL (FIL's 60th so did have a tiny piece of cake which DD mostly ate [bad mummy emoticon]), and having tuna pasta salad for tea. Only had 1 biscuit even though they are calling to me

I am not brave enough to do my measurements, is hard enough posting my weight as so many people have a start weight that is the same as my goal weight . Exersize is going to be trickiest for me but am going to do my DVD, and try and walk as much as I can. Am planning on taking DD swimming too, so that ought to help!

morethanyoubargainfor · 03/01/2010 19:22

just measured myself in preparation for tommorrow, EEKKK .

waist-36"

Top of arm-12.5"

Thigh-25"

bust-43.2"

Hips 42.5"

I am 5'10.5 and weigh an awful lot!

morethanyoubargainfor · 03/01/2010 19:26

Also on the exercise front i don't think i can fit any more in!

I work 2 days per week

i have my own bussiness-work for that 7 days per week.

i spend between 2 hours and 5 hours a day walking, i cycle to appointments so about 1 hour a day,

i intend on going to the gym 3 times a week.
i swim once a week
i run 3 x 5k a week.
i also foster and have one ds and a dh who works away alot!

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 19:26

where do i measure for the 'waist' please?

OP posts:
morethanyoubargainfor · 03/01/2010 19:28

i did mine about 1.5 inches from tummy button!

Disenchanted3 · 03/01/2010 19:35

up or down?

OP posts:
morethanyoubargainfor · 03/01/2010 19:42

if it was down i think you would have to swap the numbers around .

Murtette · 03/01/2010 20:04

Dis - do you normally weigh yourself naked and first thing in the morning just after a pee (as I do)? If so, just remember that your WW weight will be a couple of pounds more than that (even if you take off your shoes) so don't be too disheartened if its more than you're expecting it to be.

For those looking for cheap exercise gear, I got some stuff (in "large" depressingly) half price on the Debenhams website the other day as there is no way I can fit into my pre-preg exercise gear however stretchy it used to seem to be...

Off to find the tape measure. I think I might also find that my waist measurement has mysteriously turned into my thigh measurement. Oh well, at least I'm doing something about it (or will be from tomorrow - today I have gobbled up the remaining mince pies, Xmas cake and Xmas pud and am about to have sausages for supper - oops!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2010 20:12

i weigh with clothes on, as if i was weighing at a meeting, i would be wearing clothes - in the morning after i have peed

maybe they have a naked weigh in [fgrun]
