Hiya,

Am starting Monday, I have not weighed myself yet and think I probably need to loose close to 3 stone but am aiming for 2 by end of March.

Will weigh myself in here on Monday and update each Monday after.
Anyone want to join me?

Thatsnotmymonster - you can use the ww message boards for free if that helps. But obviously this threads better

mozette · 02/01/2010 07:34

giraffe hope you are better soon. I've got the sickness bug so in 24 hours I managed a handful of dry cornflakes.

I'm going to be evil and take all the chocolate into work on Tuesday in the hope that the gannets at work will eat them rather than me!

Kayzr · 02/01/2010 07:46

Giraffe Hope you are better soon.

Mozette That is a good idea about the chocolate. I am not actually starting to diet until Monday so I have 2 days to finish my chocolate orange.

I wish all the snow and ice would go so I could go out on my bike. I am getting a bit sick of it.

Thatsnotmymonster you could be really cheeky and just go to a few meetings and get all the stuff and then stop going. It's what my Mum did.

JODIEwantsanewname · 02/01/2010 08:16

Morning all.

Well I officially start today My first SW meeting is at 10.30, so I shall be weighing on a Saturday, but I can wait until Monday to post (well unless I lose a shed load of weight and ned to boast, obviously )

I had 1/2my Chocolate Orange last night while watching TV, and it's going to kill me, but DH will eat the rest of it, I'm sure

Mozette had a great idea of taking all the choc to work, I'm sure the ladies in my office will eat whats left over and I'm going to make choc crispie cakes for DS to take to Pre School!

Murtette When DS1 was small I used to just get all wrapped up and stick him in the buggy and go out for an hour a day on a long walk. This started in the January, (when he was 12 weeks) and continued in the rain, snow and on until the sunshine, it helped that we have a dog, so I had to go out, but setting myself a time goal really helped! When DS2 came along DS1 was only 22 months, but wouldn't go in the pushchair easily and got bored quickly, so this was out of the question, hence why I'm still carrying DS2's baby weight 18 months on!

On the plus side I started last year at 12st 5lbs and I'm now 11st5lbs, I did get down to 10st9lbs over the summer, but I got made redundant and had to cancel my gym membership. I'm now working again so I'm starting up the gym again, but have to wait until next weekend as there is a special offer on the joinging fee!

Gosh,I;ve rambled on a bit sorry!

oliviasmama · 02/01/2010 08:28

May i jump aboard too please. Today's the day. 13 stone 13 lbs this morning, was 13 stone 3 at the beginning of December. . . obviously did not linger at the scales for too long this morning . Goal weight 11.7 to 12 stones, I'm quite tall and a size 12 to 14 at 12 stone, I also like eating and drinking too so the 12 stone mark sounds good. Not going to a slimming club but will weigh in and "report" on a saturday. Good luck everyone.

bebejones · 02/01/2010 08:34

whenskiesaregrey - I have 'Power of 3' but as I said only done it (sort of) twice, so don't know how good it is!

oliviasmama · 02/01/2010 08:38

Just read all of the thread, will report my weigh in on a monday so it ties in with everone else.

thatsnotmymonster · 02/01/2010 08:45

Hmm good idea about just going to a few meetings and then stopping- may just do that to kickstart the diet and get all the info!

Am also going to try and do a few sit ups every day- will start now with 30 (not exactly sit ups as I can't even do them but tummy crunches!)

I am a slim size 12/14 at 11.5st (have wide hips) and would be happy at that but am going to aim for 11st so I should be a size 12.

kurves · 02/01/2010 09:59

Hey guys can i join too I am starting today i was surprised that i weighed and i am 13st 2.6lbs. my goal. is to get to 10stones 4lbs .o in total i have around say 2 stones 10 lbs to lose.

I am trying to lose my weight in different ways for the first 2 weeks i will be cutting back on the carbs eating lots of veg and having shakes 2 times a day so for lunch and dinner i will be haveing ether fish and lots of vegetable's or a grilled chicken breast with lots of vegetable's or salad. i will exercise for an hour each day . using the wii active fit and some taebo DVDs that i have at home. when the kids go back to school i will be going to the gym where i have booked some sessions with a trainer.

For the other part of my diet i will be going on a low carb diet called the alizonne diet.and that should hopefully bet me down to my goal.

what i like about this thread is that we are all trying different ways which is good because what works for one may not work for the other but good luck all and with each others support we should all achieve our goals for 2010. I will be weighing again next Saturday to see how much i have lost. My goal is to be 10st 4lbs by April 1st.

Kayzr · 02/01/2010 10:37

I have just signed up to do this I think I might be a little bit mad but I'll give it a go!!

WomanFlu · 02/01/2010 10:54

Can I join in?

I need to lose a stone and a half.

Will also post my weights up from monday and there-after

bourboncreme · 02/01/2010 11:44

I'm in too, tried last year and was a hopeless failure but determined this year !!

Louby3000 · 02/01/2010 11:57

I am joining in too. My DH and I have decided to diet together, we have both really let ourselves go this last year with it being the 1st year with our DS. He needs to/wants to lose 2stone and I need to lose about 1.5 stone.
I am 5'4 and 9.7, and look very pudgey with a muffin top, fat face- it always goes to my tum and face! I used to be ultra skinny, so although I will never be that again, I do want to be just under 8 stone.
I had planned to eat less and better and do a bit of exercise- long walks mostly and lots of housework! Will this work. Was going to kick of with a juice weekend, but have a cold now. bum

arolf · 02/01/2010 12:11

I've not read the whole thread yet, but think i'd like to join - have no scales, but am size 18 and want to be a 14 by august for my wedding!
I'm starting my diet/exercise regime on monday, but am bf-ing my 3 month old, so not doing anything too extreme. eat less, exercise more hopefully! will get some scales soon too
any tips on how to tone a flabby baby tummy, other than just sit-ups?

spookycharlotte121 · 02/01/2010 12:21

Helloooo can I join?

Im starting SW on wednesday but it would be good to have a bit of extra support. I cant rely on my sister (who is also doing SW) as she is very competative and has better will power than me thus making me feel like crap.

I have about 3 stone to lose. Im about a 14/16 at the moment but would like to get back down to a 10/12.

Im going on holiday at the end of feb and whilst I realise I wont have lost it all by then it would be nice to have had a good go at it and shifted a stone or so..... not sure what to do with all the stretch maarks though lol!

MrsMorgan · 02/01/2010 12:38

I haven't quite decided how I am going to lose the weight yet, which is a bad start isn't it lol.

I definatly need to cut out bread and cut down on other carbs. Also need to drasticallly reduce portion sizes too as they are way too big.

Have just done half an hour on wii fit and feel very unfit now, but will try and fit half an hour in each day and hopefully that will improve.

I do the school run on foot, so will continue with that unless the weather is really bad, and will also try and see if I can get the kids to go out walking at the weekend.

StanleyFletcher · 02/01/2010 12:51

How is everyone? I have been quite good today. Did 45 hard mins on the cross trainer (cue pongy cats piss smell) and when I went with the kids to TGIF I didn't order anything (yay) then hoovered up the kid's chips and chicken fingers (nay). Made a chicken vindaloo for dinner and restricted myself to only one pitta bread.

Since I have been off work I have been staying up later since I don't have to get up at gruesome 5am and the later evenings are much harder to deal with snacking wise. Still, the early nice re-commence from tomorrow so I should get back into it. I am int he Philippines and there is not much in the way of good chocolate but I did see some Quality Street in the 'imported goods' shop I was in today. It KILLED me not to buy them.

Think I need to take myself off to bed to stop thinking about chocolate.

CybilsDrivel · 02/01/2010 12:52

Whoever is having those terrible diet milkshakes do not do it.

pebbles77 · 02/01/2010 13:19

Can i join please?
I weighed in today (no one knows this including hubby) - 14 stone 7 lbs (agh) - i'm 5ft 8 and my dream weight would be 10 stone 7 lbs so that's a wopping 4 stone to lose.
I had my 2nd baby 3 months ago and we r stopping at 2 so this is it i want to lose all my baby weight and keep it off.
I'm going to follow ww but instead of going for weigh in i'm going to weigh in here if that's ok.
I'm also going to do exercise and have just been to gym for 45 mins - and i'm dying
Good luck to everyone and thank you for starting this thread Disenchanted.

mrswill · 02/01/2010 13:27

Ive been very good today [smug emoticon]

On Zoe Harcombe diet, so have had eggs scrambled in butter for breakfast and turkey stirfry for dinner. Probably having a beef curry for tea. My mind is still on the chocolate 24/7, but am seeing how long i can go without it.
Havent done any exercise yet, as we are blocked in by the snow so cant get out, and DD has been ultra clingy today, so going to the bog has even been a bit of a mission (TMI I know). Am considering getting Wii Fit, is it any good?

Disenchanted3 · 02/01/2010 13:34

mrswill just started a thread about wii fit, am going to get it i think.

the dvd I do id Davina power of 3, but shes got a new one out so may download buy that for a bit of varity

i find her really annoying but its a good workout so i just mute the dvd and put my own music on

ChunkyKitKat · 02/01/2010 13:36

Hi all

Dd is demanding chocolate atm, what a good idea to get it out of the house!

Impressed at the exercise StanleyFletcher.

I read several posts about the benefits of giving up bread - i am going to restrict myself to 2 slices per day, as I love marmite on toast. My weakness is carbohydrates!

arolf it may be worth finding out if your local leisure centre has a creche, and do a tummy exercise class if you are able to leave your baby just yet.

JODIEwantsanewname · 02/01/2010 13:47

Just got in from SW and am 11st7lbs , at 5'3'' Thats TERRIBLE...

Anyway, am going out to eat this afternoon for a friends birthday and I've just been super good and looked at the menu on lne and chosen my meal, and looked up how much that will cost me is syns etc, rather than look when I'm there and be faced with temptation (am a sucker for Garlic Bread!!!)

Just had 2 rashers of bacon and an egg for lunch, no bread, which in itself is an acheivement for me

Disenchanted3 · 02/01/2010 13:48

Hey, I just thought, is there super pressure on me to do fantastically and have will power of steele because I started this??

ChunkyKitKat · 02/01/2010 13:51

I'll be interested to see how you get on with SW Jodie. I love garlic bread too.

Enjoy your meal this pm.
