Hiya,

Am starting Monday, I have not weighed myself yet and think I probably need to loose close to 3 stone but am aiming for 2 by end of March.

Will weigh myself in here on Monday and update each Monday after.
Anyone want to join me?

hubbabubbababba · 07/01/2010 11:31

Oh dear god, i fell off the wagon big time yesterday..... dp left work early so we went to the pub where i consumed 3 large red wines...then came home and ordered chinese (but didnt actually eat that much of it because it was gross) then when i was dehydrated in the night quaffed a load of full fat pepsi....Im off to tip the rest down the sink!! Back to it today...Im going to try and go swimming this afternoon if dp finishes early again.

Disenchanted3 · 07/01/2010 11:32

If i lost 6lbs I tink id thrown a party

Been realising what a long road this is going to be, especially as I have so much to loose. But then again its well worth doing, if I didn't I would just continue to get bigger and I'd have to do it at some point!

I think the trick is to get out and do things, not been easy with the snow, but yesterday when I went for a walk it made me forget about food (until my little size 4 sister got chippy!) I was soooo good and didn't have anything!

Then DH got chippy for the kids and I put it out without taking a single chip!!

Hubba, everyone falls of the wagon at one time or another.

I have just got my Graze box and I am thinking I might have to cancel them. There are 5.5pts in 25g of seeds!! Though I suppose I could stick them in my locker at work to nibble on when I have my breaks.

hubbabubbababba · 07/01/2010 11:37

I think it has inspired me to be even better so maybe i could see it as a positive...dp is coming home for a fry up...Im going to restrain and have beans on toast or something instead

Eddas · 07/01/2010 11:51

maybe an aim would help? I amaiming to get throught to Sat 30th Jan when I have told myself I can have a proper curry from our delish local IF I don't fall off the wagon before then. I have no idea if it will work, but I'm going to try and keep it in mind. It's just over 3 weeks away....

I will also allow myself a small treat on a saturday evening, IF I have been good, something like angel delight, but made with skimmed milk and the low fat version, so a treat but still good IYSWIM

I am trying so hard, can't believe this is only day 4

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2010 12:13

hubba - dont feel bad, its done, so sut back onpoints today with o point soup

eddas - blondes loves angel delight - forgotten about that for a sweet treat - just looked in the bible aka as shopping guide and its 1.5p per 1/4 packet for chocolate and butterscotch - and 2p per 1/4packet for banana/rasp/strawberry

skinsl · 07/01/2010 12:26

Do I want to get into this points game? Not sure I have the time or energy! Just going with no alcohol and lowfat and less of it!And exercise when i can.
Is is WW for the points, I forget?
Pizzazz, my trousers feel looser too.. or am I imagining it?!

JaneS · 07/01/2010 12:35

I don't seem to be losing anything at all. It's Christmas Day in my partner's faith today so I want to cook him a nice roast dinner ... just feel bad about it because I know he won't enjoy it if I'm picking at it.

Should I have an 'off the wagon' day/meal?

Kayzr · 07/01/2010 12:40

You can make a nice roast dinner with lots of veg. Then if you have a plateful of veg and a little bit of the meat you are cooking that will be good. It's what u always do.

Disenchanted3 · 07/01/2010 12:43

I know what you mean Eddas, thats what I meant about the long road, Im trying so so hard too and I have to constantly think about what Im doing / eating /buying ad its going to be long term to. It does seem alot longer than 4 days doesn't it?

But I'm no where near giving up, still feel very motivated and focused. I won't have any treats, my only treats will be 1-2 point WW things like yogurts and yogurt bars.

I might choose a nice dress or something to buy in a 12 and imagine myself wearing it in the summer, pushing DD... not worrying about my fat arms or looking pregnant!

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 07/01/2010 12:45

And BTW I've been SUPER worrying about being pregnant , so tired and putting on so much weight, but I just tested negative so am so so happy I can carry on with this now

Obviously the weight is just christmas and the tiredness comes from lumbering extra weight!

OP posts:
PhaseolusLunatus · 07/01/2010 12:49

LRD, I think I would plan to share in and enjoy the meal; if you plan it, it isn't 'off the wagon' as such.

However, I would definitely not have seconds!

Also, from experience, as tempting as all this speculation may be, it is often very difficult to call what will be a good or bad week for losses, and sometimes the body does funny things whilst it adjusts.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2010 12:54

yes points is ww - every food has a points value, some 0 like most veg and others ky high like curry

you get to know the points of food and once you do, then as long as you keep to your daily limit (normally 18/30) weight depending that you will lose weight

LITTLEREDDRAGON agree, cook the roast, have a few slices of lean turkey 125g= 2p, 3small pots 3, yorkie 1, and tons of carrrots, swede, brocolli, green beans etc, make gravy with stock cube and veg water o points and you have a meal for 6p - you can add stuffing/sauasge etc and add points

PhaseolusLunatus · 07/01/2010 13:01

On the treat front, as soon as I have lost a stone I plan to book at table at a really lovely restaurant and have a night's holiday from the mission.

Like Dis, my treats till then will be mission-compatible!

I, too, am imagining myself with the weight gone; there is an event in mid-April for which I particularly want to be at target. It is my sincere hope not to want to wear a tunic/long cardigan/other concealing garment; jeans or a shortish skirt and a (normal length) top would be great!

ABitOfPizzazz · 07/01/2010 13:25

skinsl, I am doing it differently this time, eating smaller portions of healthy food at meal times with a snack in the evening of fruit. Not started exercising yet, though. I think the leisure centre's closed and I can't face jogging. Also kids are off and we're doing cooking in a minute.

Thinking of getting Davina's DVD and possibly a wii.

That's what's good about this thread we are all doing our own thing.

I have fallen off the wagon before and just ground to a halt so we can support each other back on it if it happens.

PollyParanoia · 07/01/2010 13:26

I'm trying to a vaguely low/no carby type thing which is working in that I'm not too hungry and have sneakily weighed myself and I'm lighter. Have ordered that India Knight book so will do it properly when it arrives. But Jeez wtf do you have for breakfast? No fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast etc, etc. I have had a scrambled egg and smoked salmon for four days now and I'm sick of it already. Any ideas for low carb breakfasts?

ABitOfPizzazz · 07/01/2010 13:26

I am just having a small bit of the cake we're cooking!!

Kayzr · 07/01/2010 13:36

I am using money as an incentive. For every 7lb I lose I am putting £15 in my savings account. Then when I reach my goal weight I am going clothes shopping. DH is having a chicken and mushroom pie for lunch that is 13 points!!! I am so jealous but if I want to be a yummy mummy I must avoid pies!!!

I'm going to see my dad next week with my brother and we are going to pizza hut. So I have decided to get a salad plate and pile it up with lots of salad and try to avoid the dressings and have 1 slice of pizza or they do light meals so I could get one of them. So will see what the points are for each and go for the lowest one.

I was going to go the WW meeting tonight but the weather is really bad and the road that the leader uses to get to the meeting is said to be really dangerous.

JaneS · 07/01/2010 13:41

Kayzr, Blonds - thanks! Yes, I think I'll try to do the 'in moderation' thing. For some reason, I find it easier to go with the extremes - ultra healthy or couldn't-give-a-toss

It will be so much easier to get into a proper diet routine when DP is back to work and not eating vegan ... he has to cut out the meat and dairy before Christmas and I am really, really craving meat now!

Pollyparanoia - This is a love/hate one, but at university my friend used to cook us delicious Indian-style breakfast omlettes (can't spell!) with chopping spring onion, chili and tomato in them. I love them and chili is meant to be good for kick-starting your metabolism.

Cheepz · 07/01/2010 13:43

have a headache, i think its all this healthy food! have been pretty good today

b - homemade muesli and pineappe (apparently pineapple helps you burn more calories!!!!)
l - 2 wholemeal wraps with ricotta cheese, ham rocket, beansprouts for crunch and mustard for tang - basically what was in the fridge!!! they were way more tasty than they sound - ricotta cheese is even lower fat than low fat cream cheese and tastes yum

have been snacking on nuts and dried apricots

have a little nagging - not toally satisfied feeling and am thinking might be time for 2 cubes of dark choc which is apparently good for you ;)

soulds like everyone is doing really good and loving the ideas coming out of this forum

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2010 13:48

welcome

kayzr - pizza hut points

seems the best pizza to go to is individual italian which are 3 or 3.5p per slice of 4 slice pizza

pie sounds good dh had one forlunch- was 14p so said no

Disenchanted3 · 07/01/2010 13:59
