Disenchanted3 · 31/12/2009 12:25

Hiya,

Am starting Monday, I have not weighed myself yet and think I probably need to loose close to 3 stone but am aiming for 2 by end of March.

Will weigh myself in here on Monday and update each Monday after.
Anyone want to join me?

feeling a bit less bleary eyed now,dcs off school though and moaning already, snow is too deep to sledge in.

i'm in manchester by the way

hubbabubbababba · 05/01/2010 11:15

Im really going to struggle with the exercise bit of it, im just going to try and walk everywhere (not easy when its currently bucketing down with snow though)
Id love to get into running but where i live its all hills, i think it would kill me. I might see if i can pick up a cheap treadmill second hand

ABitOfPizzazz · 05/01/2010 11:19

hubba - I like running for burning off a load of calories, but it's hard work even on flat pavements so sympathise with your hills.

PhaseolusLunatus · 05/01/2010 11:22

I would be up for that Pizzazz, but I am off exercise at the moment (medically off, not cheesed off ).

PhaseolusLunatus: Excused?

I can't wait to be able to swim...

PhaseolusLunatus · 05/01/2010 11:29

X-posts there, Pizzazz, got distracted. Have Basmati rice in, so will cook some of that for sudden hunger moments.

Ooh - maybe I'll make some low-to-no-fat vegetable curry to go with it; I remember that being useful on a weight-loss drive once before.

Thanks!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/01/2010 11:40

40g of cherrios and skim milk 3p

tuna and lf mayo swich for lunch, banana and snack bar 7.5p

which leaves 10p for tea and treat

seem to be ok today 0 kids keeping me busy - i know you are all weighing on a monday but i am weighing on a friday, jeans feel looser with 3 days dieting, or is that in my mind

keep up the good work girls x

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 11:42

Im starving

I dunno whats up with me, will hold out till 12 then make us all lunch. I have ate ALOT for a long time though so I suppose I have to get used to cutting down on portion sizes.

Am having ALOT of 0 point veg with tea tonight!

OP posts:
gruber · 05/01/2010 11:46

Ooh good, lunch at 12. Must pop out and get some pittas and hoummous. Absolutely freezing here (-2 at 9.30!) which is positively unheard of. No cycling today as roads are treacherous.

Had porridge again for breakfast. Feel hungry though.

Agree with Disenchanted I am just going to have to get used to smaller portions.

Does anyone know if cereal bars are ok (healthy ones with cranberries in)??

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 11:51

you know whats lovely, special k fruit and nut clusters, its only £1 at Asda right now. And 2.5 points per bowl with semiskimmed milk, had some when I got hungry last night, yum

OP posts:
compo · 05/01/2010 11:51

I was hungry at coffee and half a packet of digestives time so I had a Tesco light choices cuppa soup which warmed me up too

lunch is salad and leftover xmas cheese, no point wasting it

I'm crap at exercising too so am trying diet first

I did order an aerobics dvd but hasn't arrived yet

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 11:53

i quite like exercising when i get going.

is it better to do it before or after food? might do 30 mins now.

OP posts:
fatkatyslim · 05/01/2010 12:09

i love exercise when i can be bothered.managed to get on my stepper last night.hopefully will again tonight seeing as though i couldnt go swimming this morning.
not eaten anything yet but am having homemade 0 point veg soup soon
i find the omg i'm starving hunger pains tend to quieten down on day 3.

Lovecat · 05/01/2010 12:21

Morning all

Slept in this morning - radio alarm didn't tune so it turned on but was silent - fat lot of use! - so I had no time to make breakfast. Popped into Tesco on the way into work and bought a pot of egg & bacon mayo sarnie filler. When I LC-ed 6 years ago, this was virtually carb free, now it's 7g a pot so I'm not off to a good start today.

Breakfasts are the hardest thing on low-carb because it's so easy to pour cereal or eat toast - I know bacon and egg is reasonably quick to do, but when I'm in a rush it seems to take soooo long!

Anyway, the plan for today is ham & cheese salad with avocado and lamb chops with greek salad tonight. I put the lamb in to marinade last night while making dinner so hopefully it will be nice and tangy...

I am now off to walk up and down the stairs at work as part of my exercise routine (got in too late again this morning to do it en-route!). There's also a power-plate studio down the road from work that are offering free trial sessions, so me and a friend from work are going to pop along and see if it's any good - at £20 a throw I'm not sure I'll be signing up though, esp. as they recommend 3 sessions a week!

If I don't post back, you'll know I've collapsed in the stairwell...

runforit, VERY impressed by proper outside running-type exercise in this weather!

Pizzazz, sorry to hear about your FIL.

runforit · 05/01/2010 12:40

I only like running outside really - gym is dull dull dull! And basically if I put my gym clothes on in the morn and don't wash my hair I HAVE to go running - can't possibly change/shower without running first - too shaming I'm not a big fan of running in the rain tho - I have Davina for the rainy days

Am just eating enormous bowl of roast veg - so yummy. Am also sitting in a nice xmas free living room after grappling with the tree and the hoover for a couple of hours this morning - that's gotta count as exercise too right??

eagerbeagle · 05/01/2010 12:47

I meant to ask to join yesterday but DS had the squits (uck) so I didn't. I am only 1 lb shy of my heaviest weight. I got down to 11st 10lb for my wedding in June 08 using weightlossresources and am appalled how lardy I am now especially as I busted my ass to lose it last time. DS is now 8 months so no more excuses, the flab has to go. Due back at work in April and can't get into any of my work clothes.

Went to the gym yesterday and swam 800m today. Am knackered and want a pizza .

(Changed name from StanleyFletcher) Well - I am off to bed soon. First day back at work for me so back to a normal routine.

I have had:

fruit for brekky (1.5pts)
Raisin and oatmeal granola bar for snack (1.5)
crackers and laughing cow light with tomatoes and chilli peppers for lunch (4 pts)
Wholemeal pitta with peppers, leeks and courgette and a little cheese for dinner (4 points)
snacked on cheese while making tomorrow's packed lunches (2 pts)

Managed 45 mins/12km on cross trainer.

DH came home yesterday with a box of Ferro Rocher(sp?) that had been in his classroom since before Xmas. I said - I'll just have one.... ended up having three and squirted shampoo on them and soaked them with water and put them in the bin

whenskiesaregrey · 05/01/2010 13:11

OMG 17 pages!!! I only missed a day and its at 17 pages!! I weighed this morning... 10stone 2lbs, ideally would like to be 8 stone. Althugh realistically (sp?) 8 and a half wouldn't be too bad! Can I be added please?!

golemmings · 05/01/2010 13:14

Bit of a late posting - my stats for weekly emarassment and humiliation if I've been eating chocolate again.

weight 9 8 (lost 1 1/2 lb over the weekend. Must've been that chocolate orange I ate...)

hips 36"
waist 29"
bust 36 1/2"
bmi 23.4

My plan is to exercise more and swap eating ket for fruit and see how it goes. If the results aren't enough I'll start playing with menus and portion sizes but I don't want to mess too much 'cos I'm still breats feeding.

bebejones · 05/01/2010 13:18

Think I might have done myself a mischief playing tennis on the Wii yeaterday! My shoulder is so sore!

Haven't had a snack at all and have even resisted finishing off DD's sandwich! (Will power on max setting there!)

Going to have a toasted bagel & light philly followed by yoghurt for lunch. Got tuna and salad for dinner. Not brilliant as it is chucking it down with snow and freezing, would love a beef stew and mash or something hot and sweet with custard!

ABitOfPizzazz · 05/01/2010 13:30

Sounds like we're all doing well.

runforit - what is Davina's DVD like?

runforit · 05/01/2010 13:36

It's pretty good - i've got the 3 x 30min workouts one from ages back - there is a cardio one is based on boxing, a "pump" one that kills your thighs and a yoga ish one I don't bother with. Def gets you moving and not too tricky to get the hang of it/keep up. You can turn Davina's cheesy chat off once you are familiar if you like tho I don't mind too much.

30 mins for a DVD is long enough for me and these really make you feel like you have done something iyswim?

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 13:41

have that one too, power of 3, very good

OP posts:
chickenrice · 05/01/2010 14:10

You lot are all doing well. Well done!

The snow's caused chaos over here. We ended up having a good old English fry-up at the cosy local cafe this morning!

Back on the diet now.

Disenchanted3 · 05/01/2010 14:14

Had wholemeal pita with ww soft cheese and salad on top with ww yog and good ole diet coke! 4.5 points,

got 14.5 for dinner .

InThisSequinBraYesYouOlaJordan · 05/01/2010 14:18

Six inches of snow here this morning! No work or school, so had a good hour playing in the snow, but am horrified to realise that I won't be able to go to the gym either and have just scoffed a load of chocs - I think that my Thorntons chocs might have to be covered in Fairy and soaked too Fulton!

Day 5 of no booze - going fine which is a relief as I hope that means I'm not dependent...
