Hi Beth feel free to share and unload, we're all friends here >

Did anybody elses consultant grimace when they saw how much you weighed? And then looked at you in disbelief when you told them your target weight? I keep replaying her face in my mind and everytime I do, she looks even more horrified. Never mind, I'll prove her wrong .. I hope!

Did the boys drive you to boose Tits? Are you still sane?

Thanks Letsgo, thats reassurning, I'm getting very worried as my first WI gets closer!

Ria at least you're still planning to stick a food plan whilst away, good job I'm not away - I doubt I'd stick to anything on holiday!

Was looking at the alcohol in my SW book last night and realised I am not going to get even the slighest bit tipsy sticking to SW rules. Has anybody ever tried the 'light' alcohol drinks, wonder what they are they like?

AuntieMaggie · 24/08/2009 19:09

I need your help = I found an ice cream recipe the other day and now I can't remember where. It was a trio = banana, watermelon and mango I think!

Anyone have any ideas where I got this from?

PuppyLoves · 24/08/2009 21:33

I've googled Maggie and I cannot seem to find it, sorry

RIAlityBites · 25/08/2009 00:11

right, I'm off on my jollies in the morning. I don't think I'll have time to log on before we go (though I might if I get up early)

have a great week everyone. fingers crossed I come back the same or lighter!

PuppyLoves · 25/08/2009 14:42

Its official: I have become addicted to fried egg sandwiches

grinningbee · 25/08/2009 14:58

Have a good holiday Ria

Fried egg sarnies are lovely! We had fried eggs on toast for breakfast at the weekend. Yum!

The veg paella... it was nice but I felt it needed something extra. Might try it again with some chilli in. It needs a kick of some kind. And it took waaaaaay longer to cook than the recipe said!

Now then. I stupidly weighed myself a day early, only to discover I've put on almost a pound! How does that happen????? I have been careful, but am wondering if it can fluctuate with the bf'ing. Ah well, I'll keep going anyway and see what happens.

Gosh it's soooooo quiet in here!

tammybear · 25/08/2009 15:50

AuntyMaggie, pretty sure that was in the July SW magazine.

Didn't go to WI this week, went to see Wicked last night but weighed myself this morning, and think I have put 2lbs on from last week as I was away, oops.

So hoping to be extremely good this week... though there is an Asda cheese stuffed crust pizza in the fridge...

AuntieMaggie · 25/08/2009 18:13

GB - your scales will be different to SW ones so unless you came straight home from weigh in and weighed yourself it'll be inaccurate.

I did this and know my home scales are 2lbs lighter than SW.

Mmm fried egg sandwich...

I just had steak and onion sandwich for dinner

Thanks Tammy.

onetiredmummy · 25/08/2009 21:46

Well back on it. Had some really bad shitty news 3 wks ago so fell off the wagon until today, weighed in on the Bodyoptimise website & have put a bit on dammit. Never mind I'm sure it will go again but I'm now 3 wks behind.

3 trio of fruity ice creams, banana mango etc were in the SW magazine in July maybe?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2009 22:02

Hello, can I join you ladies please?

Ria suggested I pop over and say hello. I started with SW again last week, although only really got into it properly since yesterday as I was ill with food poisoning last week. Not a pleasant week, but a 6lbs weight loss has gotten things off to a good start

So far so good though this week on the extra easy plan, no cravings or mad hunger or anything, but I have a quick question. I am still BFing my 10 month old DS2. Although he eats solids, he still has five or six BFs a day. Do I get any extra syns or HEs due to BFing? I should get in gear to go to a class, but evenings are tricky and as I have all the books (joined in May and never made it back to class) and have done SW successfully in the past I thought I'd give it a go flying solo.

Nice to meet y'all

BethAndHerBrood · 25/08/2009 23:13

I think you are allowed an extra A choice, maybe a B too. It changes as the child gets older, and by 12 months there's no extra allowed. This is only what I can remember from when I did it though, may not be right now. I remember being surprised that I was supposed to BF with no extra stuff allowed. But you can eat loads, so not an issue when the baby is bigger and feeding less, I suppose.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2009 23:37

Thanks Beth

grinningbee · 26/08/2009 11:08

Hi Lackadaisycal

Ria very kindly posted me the extras for when bf'ing, so here they are:

Up to 2 months - 3 additional healthy extras
2 - 3 months - 4 additional healthy extras
4 - 6 months if starting to wean - 3 additional healthy extras
4 - 6 months if not weaning - 4 additional healthy extras
Over 6 months when weaning - 1 additional healthy extra

I think the idea that at least two of them are hea's.

You are also supposed to have the full 15 syns eah day too.

Hope that helps!

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 13:01

oooh, thanks grinningbee

I only get one then, but am liking the sound of 15 syns a day. I've been trying to be very good and limiting my syns, but sounds like I can be a bit more relaxed about things. I'd rather have an extra B choice than an A though as I like a big bowl of cereal in the morning! Still I can use my syns for that and then not worry about the milk amounts or a bit of cheese on my pasta.

I think I need to get to a class really, but I'll give it a go solo (well with the support of MN ) and see how I get on.

Oh, just thought of another question.....how does that additional HE work if you are on an "extra easy" day?

grinningbee · 26/08/2009 13:19

I'm going solo too. I used to go to classes, but can't really afford it now.

Lord knows how I'll cope cutting down my 4 extras when I start weaning in a few weeks!

I'm sure I remember you from another thread - were you on a pg after mc thread? Can't believe your lo is 10 months now! Where does the time go...

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 13:27

I was grinningbee I thought I recognised your name. Congratulations on your LO.

Dropping from four to just one immediately seems a bit harsh though as when you start weaning they hardly take any food and it certainly doesn't affect the number of milk feeds for a good few months (or if at all if my bruiser and the amount of BFing he still does is anything to go by )

BethAndHerBrood · 26/08/2009 18:03

I wasn't far wrong then, was I?! Surprising what you remember!

Me and DH are having sausage, chips and beans for tea. Followed by chocolate orange ice cream. He's doing the diet too, so that helps. Although he's easily distracted!

AuntieMaggie · 26/08/2009 19:32

Sooo dreading weigh in tomorrow. I've been good most of the week - except pizza, crisps and chocolate on Friday (not all in one go!)

I should have lost that pound from last weenk but after last week I'm not getting my hopes up.

Just been looking through my food diaries and I had more green meals the week I put on weight so need to try and keep and eye on it and see if that works.

I really hope I lose tomorrow or I'm in danger of giving up.

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 19:47

fingers crossed for you AuntieMaggie.

It's day3 in the Daisy house and diet fatigue has set in already . I couldn't be bothered cooking this afternoon as have spent a day chasing after and yelling at my unruly children and am physically and emotionally wrecked. They had fish fingers, chicken nuggets and oven chips for tea and I had a teaplate full of chips with them and then a banana. I have no idea what to eat now and I'm really hungry. All I know is that the fridge is full of cheese and it's beckoning. I'm also hankering after my usual midweek bottle of wine.....

we have nothing in that will make a wuick healthy dinner either and I know that if I pop out to the shop I WILL buy wine, and a half pound bag of Sport's Mix.

help

AuntieMaggie · 26/08/2009 19:50

drink water and lots of it!

what kind of day are you having? what have you eaten so far?

PuppyLoves · 26/08/2009 20:28

Have you got eggs? I'm thinking fried egg on toast with some beans? But that may be something to do with my recent addiction to fried eggs

I am absolutly starving and about had to walk past a fish and chip shop on the way home from work - it took all my will power not to run in and buy everything in sight - even the pickled eggs looked appealing as I pressed my nose against --the window walked past.

Lost 3.5 pounds this morning at WI. The passworsd was badminton for those not going to classes.

Stay strong maggie, I've got my fingers crossed for you

And very of Beths chocolate orange ice cream! - How many syns is that?

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 21:05

doing extra easy and have done OK so far. I had cereal w banana for brekkie, some left over veg curry and rice for mid morning snack, ham, beans and fried egg for lunch and some more fruit mid afternoon, then a handful of chips with the DC and a lollipop. I have just caved though and eaten three slices of emmental cheese (you know the sort that is precut for sarnies) . sins today have been a squirt of spray olive oil for the egg, and a couple of tbsp mango chutney.

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 21:06

needless to say puppylove, not sure about fried egg and beans again for supper.

I'm going to have some herbal tea and go to bed...if i'm asleep I can't be eating

BethAndHerBrood · 26/08/2009 21:23

Chocolate Orange Ice Cream - completely free, and really lovely! We make it ourselves, it's a variation of a sw recipe.

2 x muller choc and orange

vlf fromage frais

sweetener (if you want, we don't bother)

Mix it all up, put in a plastic tub, put in freezer, stir every now and then, if you remember.Take it out of freezer and put in fridge about 3 hours before you want it. This is very important, otherwise you end up chiselling lumps off and cutting your finger.

Trixel · 26/08/2009 22:02

i'm loving the sound of that choc orange ice cream!!!! going to make some as soon as humanly possible!
WI yesterday, lost 3lbs! Got slimmer of the week, which was quite ridiculously motivating
With fried eggs, presumably you're using FryLight? But there's no hot fat to spoon on top is there, so does the top, yolk etc cook properly?
Well done for resisting those fish & chips Puppy - that was very commendable! and for the 3.5lbs loss, brilliant.
I have to say that I'm addicted to those SW chips. I eat more chips on this diet () than I ever did before!
