Oh forgot to ask, how many syns is in a curly wurly?

grinningbee · 21/08/2009 17:45

The polenta wasn't bad, just a little bland. But with the sauce it was nice.

A curlywurly from a multipack (26g) is 6 syns. I am just about to eat one now! I considered cutting it in half, but sod it. Tonights tea is only 1/2 a syn. So actually... I could have two!

Will post the recipe if it's nice

RIAlityBites · 21/08/2009 17:55

the veg paella I had yesterday was a bit . But OK. Just not moreishly delicious.

I know it's a bit late now, but isn't a mug about 1/4pt?

shame about the 1lb auntmaggie, hopefully it will come off again straight away next WI, and it could well be down to different scales. I know what you mean about when you have a lot to lose. I am hoping I have PMT (I know that is odd) but I just feel so fat and heavy and lumpen today, had a few chips out of what I bought the DCs for lunch, but haven't blown it yet.

I took the trousers back - they were too big round the waist and too tight on the thighs it wan't a flatering look! Bougt a pair of jeans and some combats instead (really suitable for a wedding). Have remembered a pair of black linen trousers in my wardrobe though, I wore them at a stone heavier, so they might look good, and if I get a nice black and white patterned top, that should do.

grinningbee · 21/08/2009 18:11

Ria was your recipe from the Quick & Easy family meals book?

RIAlityBites · 21/08/2009 18:12

I think it's called "best ever recipes", probably the same recipe though

grinningbee · 21/08/2009 18:26

Oh.

Ah well! We'll see what it's like. Sorry your having a "lumpen" day. I'm having bleeding every few days at the mo so I have constant pmt! Tis miserable.

My curlywurly was lovely

AuntieMaggie · 21/08/2009 18:29

a mug is about 250ml so about right for semi skimmed not that I had it anyway!

I'v had a crunchie and a bag of crisps today

Pissed off though - I suggested a night out to DP for tonight. He was up for it until last night when he said lets just stay in. Fine, but now he's come home and gone to sleep on the sofa and I'm waiting for my fecking tea!

What an exciting weekend I'm going to hav!

Trixel · 21/08/2009 19:44

Hmmmmm, yes, i know how you feel, waiting for your tea auntiemaggie - DH is supposed to be cooking two delicious curries from the SW curry book, but he forgot the garlic and we've run out so he's now out at the shop getting it. Will prob be eating at 10pm at this rate!
Sorry about the lb - different scales though I reckon. Write it off and look forward to next week.
Black trousers and a black and white top sounds great ria puppy - Ive never even heard of Rocks juice, what's that?
Glad you've got 3 weeks respite from the studying ria, sounds like you deserve it!

PuppyLoves · 21/08/2009 20:27

I'm home now and gotta drag myself into the kitchen to cook dinner. At least its only a stir fry so it'll be done nice and quick.

is Rocks

What a let down Maggie, maybe you could pursue dh to go out tomorrow, if not think of all the sins you'll be saving!

How was the paella grinningbee?

Wedding outfit sounds perfect Ria!

Really fancy a treat after dinner tonight I didn't have any syns wednesday (my first day)
and only 3 yesterday. Wonder what I could have? Might send dh out for a curly wurly lol

Trixel · 22/08/2009 09:31

Can i ask a question?
Could I decide to do an extra easy day in the middle of a week when I've been doing green and red days? Or do you have to be working to Extra Easy as your programme? Am going out for dinner tonight and trying to work out how to manage it without going ridiculous! (may yet decide to just go ridiculous and write it off to flexi-syns!).
So, if I did go "extra-easy" would that mean that I could have anything free on red or green, but that i would only have one HEA and one HEB? Have I understood it right?

tullytwo · 22/08/2009 10:15

Does anyone have this weeks password?

TitsalinaBumsquash · 22/08/2009 10:16

Password is Radish.

Just realised I can have a fried egg sandwhich on green day if I use the wholemeal bread as a HEB - thats lunch sorted!

letsgostrawberrypicking · 22/08/2009 17:26

I WANT PANCAKES!!!!!!!!!!

I can only find maple syrup pancakes at 6 and 1/2 syns each - has anyone got any idea what amounts would make them less? I have sweetener, eggs, flour and milk here but no idea how much of each to use and what the syn value would be!!

TIA

ConnieComplaint · 23/08/2009 16:32

Yes Trixel, that's basically right You can have whatever is dfree on a green & red day...or even if you're synning you take whatever the lowest syns are on a green or red day One HEA and one HEB though It's easy 'cos you can have so much free food, you'll only need one HEA & one HEB.

I had a naughtly day yesterday - it started when the vodka bottle came out

Maggie, shame about the gain, but you'll lose it next wk, never worry.

Whoever is talking about panackes - make your own Eggs (free) milk (HEA) & flour (the syn value will be in your book). Unfortunately as I am crap at recipes & dh does all the baking, I don't know values or weights to help you..............

Today hasn't been bad so far. HAving an EE day. HAd HEB (wmeal roll) with bacon & egg for b'fast. Dinner is cooking at the minute; roast beef, potatoes, carrots, broc, cauli, sprouts & mushy peas

Trixel · 23/08/2009 20:00

Thanks connie, that's really helpful.
However, I have to say that I did not heed ANY of the rules when we went out last night - gah!
Ah well, today's a new day, and I havent synned at all today, and won't for the next couple of days, so I'm sure it'll all be okay [fingers crossed emoticon]
Good weekend everyone?

AuntieMaggie · 23/08/2009 20:13

Well I had a bad day yesterday...

Back on track today - made the tuscan chicken minus the mushrooms with rice and asparagus. Yummy.

PuppyLoves · 23/08/2009 21:15

How many sys should you have a day? This is my first week and I've ranged from none to 11 yesterday and 12 today - can you tell its the weekend

PuppyLoves · 23/08/2009 21:19

Presed post too soon!

Did you have a good night Trixe

Glad your back on track Maggie

Does EE work, seems to good to be true. I was drooling at Connies food!

letsgostrawberrypicking · 23/08/2009 21:20

You're fine PL - it's between 5 and 15. Our leader said not to stint on them as when you are near the end of your diet and fancy something sweet, if you havent had your syns regularly your body will not be used to having extra and go "woo-hoo!!" and not burn them up so easily.

RIAlityBites · 23/08/2009 22:25

I have to confess that as someone who promised to give it 100% this week, it isn't going great for one reason or another

glad everyone else is doing OK though

I have another confession too, and I hope you won't banish me for it! On holiday I am going to follow Low GI rather than SW. I know it's probably silly, but firstly I need a break, but I want it to be a controlled one, and secondly I am planning a lot of walking while we are away, and don't want to waste valuable walking time on food prep! (I spent all day yesterday making things to freeze to take with us)

We are going away on Tuesday (hopefully), and I have hit "pre-holiday crying point", without even thinking about starting the ironing or packing

TitsalinaBumsquash · 23/08/2009 22:30

I am doing shite this week! I haven't really been eating alot of bad stuff just picking really but i haven't really been bothered, i am going on holiday next Saturday anfd it think my brain is in holiday mode already, im not sure if i will go to WI on Tuesday yet, i should becuase im away the week after. Im going swimming tommorrow i always swim on a monday and friday.

I have 4 under 5yr old boys to look after tommorrow morning, god help me!

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 23/08/2009 22:48

bloody hell Tits, I would be breaking out the wine and chocolate for that!

talking of bewing "in the holiday mood", one of my dieting friends from another thread does WW, and her class only doesn WI during the summer holiday and doesn't bother with the "meeting" part (I suppose the image therapy type bit). If the bloody group leader can't be botherd cos it's summer, why should anyone else!

BethAndHerBrood · 24/08/2009 12:28

Hello! Can I join in please?

I'm an old timer at SW, but have had a bit of a break. I'm not going to class, as I had a bust up with the consultant, but I'm weighing at home. I know I can do it, I've done it before. But extra support is always good!

I've weighed myself this morning, not as bad as I thought! I've started the journey on the sw website, and am filling in the food diary on there.

letsgostrawberrypicking · 24/08/2009 13:51

Hi Beth! Now am ai the only one wondering about the bust up ?! Was it about her scales and your scales being pounds apart! How much have you lost so far?
