Would it be ok if I joined in?

I have done slimming world before, just after I had dd1, lost all but 10lbs of my baby weight, but never quite made it there after dd2....and by the time I decided to go, got preg with ds! He is 4 months now so really want to get all the baby (and cake!) weight off!
I started on monday from memory, (cant find my old books) doing green days, trying to eat mainly free foods, but cant really remember it all, will go to a meeting tomorrow to join and get the books, but dont know how long I will be able to keep the meetings up for as the times dont suit me, but will try!
I have cheekily used the password to have a nose around the site and look up syn values, but promise I will post the new passwords when I get them.

ILoveStripeySocks · 11/11/2009 13:49

welcome lanismum! Hope you get off to a good start on your weight loss journey. I have just re-joined SW 2 weeks ago, and I am doing the Extra Easy plan.

lanismum · 11/11/2009 15:11

Thanks for the welcome
I have been having eating meals from the extra easy free trial menu on the slimming world site, so far so good, cant wait to get to the meeting tomorrow to get the books and start properly!

lanismum · 11/11/2009 16:02

Quick question, feel a bit dim, am filling out the online food diary, from memory baked beans were free? but when I use the drop down menu to select them they are written in red, while some foods are written in green? does this mean they aren't free anymore? why are vegetables red? surely they are free

ameRIAcansmooth · 11/11/2009 17:47

hi lanismum. don'tknow the answer there, sorry. AFAIK beans are free (if they are no I may cry!)IIRC someone said stock cubes are free now!!!

I have just passed a challenge, with almost flying colours (and no thanks to DH, who has miraculously recovered from his illness to go out tonight). The boys had pizza for tea, and I have dutifully eaten spicy quorn sausage potato pie. and only had a tiny nibble of a corner of crust (rather than a whole pizzaseveral slices)

ILoveStripeySocks · 11/11/2009 18:25

well doen Ria! great willpower. I have just had a massive roast dinner, was tasty.

lanismum - beans are free, dont know why they are red! I eat plenty of beans, and lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks, so they cant be that bad

littleoldme · 11/11/2009 20:26

Hey , who has that fantastic blog ? I've hunted for the link and can't seem to find it. I'm sure it was one of the stripes !

ILoveStripeySocks · 11/11/2009 21:02

Twas me I wouldnt call it fantastic though ha ha!

here it is ... blog

QandA · 11/11/2009 21:05

Hi lanismum I only started last week, so only a week ahead of you. I do all green days.

That is good will power Ria, especially with Pizza!

littleold me, the blog is Ilovestripeysocks, I think. The link is somewhere further up. It is great idea Ilove, had a look myself, must be good to chart your progress everyday.

Had my first WI and have lost 4lb, so really pleased with that for a first week

ameRIAcansmooth · 11/11/2009 21:14

well done Q&A.

thanks for linking the blog again. I had it bookmarked but our PC crashed and I am using DS1s laptop til DH fixes the PC ( that would be when?)

wish I'd had the bloody pizza now, I'm starving and I need stodgy carb type food. DH is shopping while he's at his training and is meant to be bringing me chinese flavour savoury rice or something equally SW friendly but naughty tasting. At least we are out of bread so I can't binge on toast.
Pleased tell me knitting is good exercise?

ILoveStripeySocks · 11/11/2009 21:26

well done QandA! Fabulous start! Now the hard bit - to keep it up!

lol its good exercise for your fingers Ria! Hmmmmm enjoy your chinese rice!

ConnieComplaint · 11/11/2009 22:41

Hello people

Welcome Lanis

I think the beans are in red cos they're free on both green & EE? I could be wrong though.... it has been know to happen believe it or not

I lost 1lb tonight - am happy enough though as I have lost consistently since I started, with a few gains which were all expected as they were occassions! ie: last gain was 3lb at the end of August 'cos I had the week off for a wedding!

Have just scoffed a chocolate eclair...OMG it was soooooo good!!

Ria, enjoy your rice - I had sausage inside a bap for dinner, I always be naughty on WI night!!!

ILoveStripeySocks · 12/11/2009 08:04

CC - If its free on green then it has to be free on EE lol Anythng thats free on eithe rday is free on EE. Thats why I love it so much lol!

Dinner tonight is prawn fried rice!

What hav eyou lot got?

QandA · 12/11/2009 17:36

Well done Connie How much have you lost so far and have you been doing SW long? You have probably already said and I have read the thread, but I have the memory of a goldfish a poor memory.

I am going to try a rice dish soon Ilove, do you mind letting me know how you get on with yours and if it would work without the prawns?

I have had pasta bake with roast peppers, mushrooms, toms, sweetcorn and quorn. Used low fat Philadelphia mixed in (3.5 syns) and mozzarella grilled on top (HEA)

Had homemade soup for lunch and will be having it a lot over the next few days as made a big pan of it! Roasted sweet potatoes, carrots and onions and mixed it with some spices and stock and blended it all up. It is really tasty, though will be sick of it soon, I'm sure

ILoveStripeySocks · 12/11/2009 19:45

Your soup sounds lovely QandA!! Think Im going to have to make it. Ive made the rice dish with chicken before, and works just as well with just veg in it!

QandA · 12/11/2009 20:59

Ilove, lol at that peter Kay link on your blog

ConnieComplaint · 12/11/2009 22:02

Yeah, ILove, I know everything that's free on green is free on EE, but I thought the EE foods were a diff colour, that's what I meant Not that I do EE often, just every Sunday!!

QandA: I've lost 30.5lb since the end of January.. at a steady pace, that way I think I am more likely to keep it off, rather than go at it full blast, running to the gym every day, doing unrealistic exercise that I know I wouldn't be able to keep up.

Today has been a strange day as I was in court all day with nothing to eat. Went to a cafe with some others, who all had huge scones, toast & some had sausages! But I had my mug of coffee & then a diet coke when they were all having their second round of cappucions.... very virtuous!! But then I took the kids to the cinema this a/noon.... & ate my fair share of popcorn...but I stole it from DD & she's a miser so it wasn't that much really!!

Had SW chips, beans & fried egg for tea. Have a Hifi bar lined up to eat with a mug of coffee when dh goes to work at 10.30!

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 12/11/2009 22:11

I lost 2lbs at WI on Tuesday. Was really pleased, thats 10.5lbs total loss now. I've just discovered Hifi bars though and think I'm going to have to be careful. They are lovely and I'm worried I could easily eat a pack in a day.

ConnieComplaint · 12/11/2009 22:14

I know SKSS!! I love the minty ones, DH loves the lemon meringue ones, though they're a bit too sweet for me. We both love the chocolate orange ones but both hate the Christmas flapjack type one! Belurgh!!

I think there's a good bit of eating in them though, not like a blue riband when you've had 2 bites & it's gone! (As I know only too well!!!)

jenk1lovesSW · 12/11/2009 22:19

well i havent had a good day today.

yesterday i hardly ate anything, it was my wedding anniversary and my STXH emailed me to wish me a happy anniversary (even tho we are getting a decree nisi any day) so that upset me and i lost my appetite, but today ive made up for it and ate a load of rubbish.

definately emotional comfort starving/eating but im feeling better now and going to get back on it tomorrow.

well done on the lossess everyone

ILoveStripeySocks · 13/11/2009 07:44

Well done CC on your total loss! thats fab. And go you, being all good at the cafe!

wooo stripey, thats fab too! well done. I dotn buy hi-fi bars, as id rather have 2 Alpen lights than 1 hifi .

ohhh Jenk, what a wanker to upsetyou liek that Here;s to a better week!

I didnt have the prawn fried rice after all, the prawns smelt funny & so I couldnt eat them. Had a bowl of savoury rice instead lol!
Im craving a Subway sarnie, but after checking the syns, no way am i having one!

jananet · 13/11/2009 19:13

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but hope I can help out if anyone needs info on the SW plans.

I've been a SW Consultant for several years and honestly believe it's far and away the best way to lose weight and keep it off.

There is just one thing I would like to point out and that is that the password given out to members each week is copyright protected and must not be shared on a public site. SW have taken legal action in the past and forums have been forced to close.

ConnieComplaint · 13/11/2009 19:59

Hi Jananet, whereabouts are you based? Re the SW p/word, I go on another site & they have made it clear in several different places that the p/word shouldn't be posted.... so, are you going to grass on us to the big chief?

Maybe when we start the next thread we could put in the title P/wors should never be posted just to keep MN safe? I'm sure they don't need another court case

Jenk What a tosser, why do you think he did that? Obviously it's not a happy anniversary, otherwise you would be together!! Don't let him destroy your spirit, rise above it!!

Stripey, I knew if I had something at the cafe it wouldn't stop there.

It's strange you're talking abouty 'craving' a subway, as craving is the only word I can use to describe my want for a KFC..... I@ve had a notion of it for about 2 weeks now, but keep telling myself it won't taste as good as I think it will!! Or it won't be as good as I remember from all those years ago when DH & I were dating!!

Have been good so far today, fruit breakfast, mixed fruit & veg lunch, potatoes met & veg for dinner & am saving a hifi bar as a H.E to have before bed.
