thanks for your kind words.
I don't know if my lethargy is seasonal, autumn is my "time" usually (and I suffer like thi s in summer too). TBH I think I am on the depressive part of my anxiety/depression cycle, but the MHN has decided we're working on anxiety ATM, so wasn't swayed by my attempt to convince her otherwise. I am snowed under with housework and struggling to get on top of it, plus fireworks and the boys don't mix. I'm sure I'll perk up soon.

Another "blip" today, purely because the food was there, and I didn't enjoy any of it. Am not giving up though. Will try to get back on plan tomorrow.

Your consultant would hate me connie, when I text I try to make use of every single character to get value for money . DH is idle and sends one word.

ILoveStripeySocks · 06/11/2009 20:54

Jsut making myself a roasted veg & bacon lasagne! What did everyone else eat today?

CC - your consultant sounds a bit grumpy! what is she like in meetings?

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 21:04

yum, sounds nice stripey

ConnieComplaint · 06/11/2009 21:09

MMmmmmm to roasted veg & bacon lasagne!!

Breakfast was fruit, lunch was 2 w/meal bread with 1 small slice ham & salad filling followed by fruit salad.
Dinner was steak & mustard mash with veg.

What's she like at meetings? very selective shall I say? She has her cronies who she's overly friendly with, she has her 'newbies' who's name she can never remember - then she has the likes of me, who she said was a yo-yo in January cos I had joined last yr & didn't stick it 'cos I was on the wrong place at the time - then when I went back in Jan she asked if I was a yoyo..... But I really like the others who go & often I'll take the money or do the weigh-ins, she's kind of a funny girl.

She's got time for certain people but not others if you know what I mean.

ILoveStripeySocks · 06/11/2009 21:33

Ria - we x-posted there, I wasnt ignoring you! Had to get teh lasagne out of the oven before I could reply.

Are there suppliments that can help you at all? Anything is worth a shot, to give you a wee boost.

Get rid of your naughty food! And anything you keep in forteh kids etc, I put on a high shelf/cupboard, so thats it a lot more effort to get at them. I keep SW friendly food at eye level in teh cupboards too. Whats yor downfall? Mine is crisps, so I keep a multipack of Tesco cheese curls in, as they are only 3.5 syns a pack. if its chocolate, freeze soem curly whurlys - 6 syns and they last AGES.

CC - she sounds a bit useless, thats teh sort of consultant that would send me running! Ours is a bit scatty, but in a good way. And I liek the fact she has as many blips as teh rest of us! My old consultant was a bit pants though - she only had 6 memebers and her weight went up & up every week. And she used to cough & splutter all through the meetings, and spent 95% of the time talking about herself!

Ohhh my made-up lasagne was really tasty! I am going to have to have it again!

ConnieComplaint · 06/11/2009 22:08

Ria - try Berocca. My sister swears by it.

Also, are you getting your bloods regularly checked by your MHN? One of my friends is bipolar & as usual for her at this time of the year, she is back in the hospital. Her family know this is her bad time of year & they are usually prepared for it.

Try the Berocca anyway, even if it's just for a couple of weeks & see what you think. It's a whole lot of mulitvitamins all together.

Stripey - our consultant isn't at her goal weight either, but I think it lets us see that she;s not perfect. Though she sometimes says thing, that I call 'a joke with a jag' about members.... she called my friend a take away queen and told her if she cut out the take aways she wouldn't need to be at her group at all.

She reads out everyone's gains! Instead of saying "Connie, you've had a little gain this week, how can we help you get rid of that for next week?" she'll say "Connie, you've gained 2lb this week, how on EARTH did you manage that in ONE week? hmm? Were out eating out EVERY day?" I'm not joking!!

But as I say, I go for the members, she has helped me in no way whatsoever towards my weight loss!

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 22:53

'tis OK stripey, I was off putting the boys to bed and pretending I couldn't hear the fireworks so they couldn't either and dyeing my grey hairs having a bit of pampering.

sounds like a silly cow connie. not helpful to read out gains or single people out for having habits. (takeaway queens sounds like my kind of royalty) there's always someone like that though isn't there, shame they have to be given jobs like being consultant.

Am going to look into supplements, may well try your sis's one too. There has to be something better than this. It's the exhaustion that makes me waver, because I get so bogged down with stuff that cooking any sort of food, let alone SW stuff, is just too much effort. I do feel better if I can get out walking to the forestry or even the beach, especially in autumn/winter - not so fussed in the summer - but the effort of getting there with the boys can be overwhelming. Maybe this weekend.

My "danger foods" vary depending on the time of the crisis. anytime up til teatime is white toast with full fat spread. After the boys are in bed it's crisps/chocolate/wine depending on what I can find

I have never had my bloods checked in relation to my depression.

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 22:55

sorry, am a tad self obsessed tonight.

I am going for my first ever facial tomorrow! And then am taking my niece for a facial and manicure for her birthday present. (Local salon having a charity day with cheap treatments)

ILoveStripeySocks · 07/11/2009 11:23

Dont you worry about being self obsessed! If we can help you stay on SW, then so be it. Try hiding the naughty stuff away in hard to reach places, or dont buy it, and see if that helps. I knwo what you mean though, when the kids & DP are tucking into hot buttered toast, it takes all my willpower not to give in. And its fecking hard! A tiny piece of nimble bread with a tiny slither of low fat spread really doesnt match up!

littleoldme · 07/11/2009 13:24

Ria - hope you have lovely time at your facial- sounds lush.

Stripey - Your consultant sounds like a nightmare. Does she maybe suggest you have a nice bit of dust ?

Goota go DS is squawking.

QandA · 07/11/2009 15:50

Ria, A facial and treating your niece, sounds a good way to spend a saturday.

Connie, have only met my consultant once as I had my 1st meeting last week, but am hoping she doesn't turn out to be like yours! You have to wonder why they do it if they are going to make people feel bad.

I am now on day 3 and doing quite well, the structure of it, which I thought I would hate, is actually really helping, seems I like writing things down and checking the book

Have been for another 30 mins bike ride too, so I am hoping exercise will help when it comes to weigh in.

ILoveStripeySocks · 07/11/2009 20:50

Hope everyione has had a good day! I have had my fourth 100% day in a row, and feeling great for it. DP is making cottage pie toppped with duchess potatoes for dinner, cant wait!

Ria - hope dyou enjoyed your pampering!

QandA - how are you getting on? Anything you dont understand, or have you got to grips with it?

ameRIAcansmooth · 07/11/2009 21:14

well done Q&A, I like lists and stuff too

sorry for being dim (and don't tell DH - chef - that I asked, but what are duchess potatoes).

Not a great day, but not truly horrendous either. Am reading and motivating still, and getting lots of ideas on board.

my facial was quite nice. It was only a 15 min one as it was a cheapy special offer (what do they do for a whole hour?). Unfortunately my lovely sciatica kicked in while she was doing her stuff and I couldn't get up off the bed thingy, couldn't get my shoes on, and could hardly walk to the front desk to pay and felt really dizzy with the pain. It was a struggle to walk home too, and DH was being an arse this mroning so that didn't help. I really enjoyed the walk to the salon though, just after 9 this morning, and it was really crisp and fresh in the air. I'm not sure my niece enjoyed her treat as much as I thought she would, but that's a birthday present done and dusted. I am saving up for another treatment now, don'tknow what I fancy. I am not very good at being that close to other people IYSWIM.

ameRIAcansmooth · 07/11/2009 22:24

oh, I forgot to say, my facial made me very aware of how fat my face is

ILoveStripeySocks · 07/11/2009 22:26

Ria, im teh same, i dont like strangers touching me especially my skin! Really dont like people being in my personal space either. Ohhhh I do love a cool crisp morning though! How lovely!

I have stayed on SW 100% again today - had loads of syns left over too, so treated myself to a Foxs Classin choc biscuit - omg it was lovely!

ameRIAcansmooth · 07/11/2009 23:01

'tis a miracle I have 3 DCs!

well done on your 100% day

QandA · 08/11/2009 11:38

Ria, I have had a facial before and it felt a bit too personal, like when you are at the opticians and they are just too close
Reflexology, if you can stand your feet being touched is a good choice, it is very relaxing and also good for you.

The diet has given me a kick, hope it lasts, went swimming with my DS this morning and had a hour of splashing around, hardly high impact, but better than sitting at home surely?! Had my 1st proper syn afterwards though and had 1 biscuit with my coffee.

ILove, thank you for asking! Seem to have got my head around it now, am making full use of the syn checker on the SW website!
Sounds like you are doing well, when is your next weigh in?

Did well yesterday, had yogurt and fruit for breakfast (2 syns as it was the cherry muller light) Then weight watchers soup and ryvitas and cottage cheese for lunch, then for dinner we all had the 'bonfire night bangers and mash' recipe that is on the SW homepage. It was delicious, even DH was impressed! Only the cheese for the topping was a HE, everything else was free on the green day as it was vegi sausages.

ILoveStripeySocks · 08/11/2009 13:28

ohhh i didnt know teh cherry muller light had syns! crikey, i had 2 this week.Might try that bangers & mash, it sounds yummy!

My next weigh-in is Tuesday, everything is still going 100% I am well chuffed, because I have never stuck to a diet 100% before! Im having a lazy day today though, no big cooking/recipes. Have had ready meals! Just having a pasta n sauce (free if made with water) for lunch.

ILoveStripeySocks · 08/11/2009 13:31

Have just checked - cherry muller lights are free! (unless its the cherry & choc sprinkles, that one is 2 syns)

ameRIAcansmooth · 08/11/2009 13:36

sounds good QandA.

I do fancy reflexology. My friends partner is a hoisitic therapist, and they gave me a voucher a couple of years ago for christmas when they first got together for her to do my feet, or a back massage, but we weren't getting on too well for a while, and also I just couldn't bring myself to do it, because of the closeness thing and also my weight (even though my feet aren't fat) I regret it really. I suppose I could ask though! They both spend a lot of time massaging my DH when they come over for a drink and get drunk

QandA · 08/11/2009 14:33

It was the cherry and choc sprinkles (they are lovely btw), so you are safe!

Ria, that's the good thing about reflexology, it is only your feet they see. I daren't ask about the drunken massages

ameRIAcansmooth · 08/11/2009 17:06

the massages are very funny. Obviously friends partner is a professional and DH has an acute shoulder injury, so that is all OK and innocent, and the drink part is just co-incidental. Friend seems to have to do it too to make some kind of point

jenk1lovesSW · 08/11/2009 17:55

RIGHT.

im re starting tomorrow, not joining a club cos of childcare issues but i lost a stone earlier this year and want to start again.

have had 6 months off (split with XH and generally ate whatever i wanted) and dont think ive put too much back on as my new clothes size still fits me but back on it tomorrow and i think the way forward for me is EE as i found that the easiest.

going to read the whole thread later after xfactor to get my mind back into it.

ConnieComplaint · 08/11/2009 18:16

Blimey - wish I had friends who would come & get drunk with me & massage me Not nesessarily Dh though - it'd be out of his comfort zone!!

Had a not too bad day yesterday & today.

yesterday I had nothing but fresh air until the evening time as I had a hair appointment & she was v.v.vfar behind & I sat waiting half the day! Then I had a cut & colour which takes ages its-self! Have now a short blone/honey pixie cut I was short anyway, am just blonder now!

So I had a take away for tea, chilli chicken with boiled rice followed by a pkt of quavers.

Today has been an EE day: bacon & eggs with brown roll (HEB) for breakfast/brunch
Then I've just finished dinner which was roast chicken, SW roasties, boiled spuds, broc, sprouts, cauli, carrots, peas & 1 spoonful of gravy Am stuffed to burst. Then I escaped here because DH & the kids are having dessert.....the messiest dessert ever.... neopolitan ice-cream topped with mini mallows topped with 100s & 1000s!! (I made it then walked away....) think of the sugar hit they'll all get later.....

And my v.v.v.v.v.v. good news???????? I managed to BUTTON UP a pair of size 12 River Island jeans in town yesterday!!! I didn't buy them as there was still a bit of an overhang - but by God they'll fit nicely for Christmastime & I'll feel great going in to buy a size 12 - especially as before Christmas last year it was a pair of size 16 skinny jeans I bought!!

Anyway, glad everyone is doing so well

Ria honey, you remind me of my older sister, we treated her to a day at a spa for her birthday - we all went, all 5 girls (I have 4 sisters) and I just happened to be in the same treatment room when T was getting her massage - she was so uncomfortable,, it was obvious she hated it, she couldn't relax or anything, kept her eyes open & kept saying "What're you doing now?" to the lady who was working with her......

ConnieComplaint · 08/11/2009 18:19

Hi Jenk -welcome back

You'll get back into the driving seat in no time & have whatever you have gained back off again!

Sorry to hear about you & DH, a split is never easy, no matter what way you look at it.

Good luck for this week!
