Yes, even I get confused between me and the other Stripey, especially as we're both sock related.

Stripey I'd love some links to the websites you use for recipes please.

ConnieComplaint · 04/11/2009 22:58

LMFAO!!!! Yeah.... I know now!!!!!

Why did you not just say Roast? I don't think MN is as bad as the sparkly place.

QandA · 05/11/2009 08:37

Hi all!

I have just started SW, on Day 1 in fact, but so far have only had a cup of tea as I am looking at the book and feel a bit overwhelmed with all the picking and choosing

I am vegetarian too, so am hoping that it will be a good diet for me. I have never been to class before now, so it is all a new experience. I have started a new thread as feel very confused and don't want to crash in on yours and bother you with lots of SW newbie questions!

ILoveStripeySocks · 05/11/2009 09:53

QandA, I am sure no one minds you asking in this thread! It would probably do us good to remind ourselves of teh "rules", as I knwo i tend to let things start to slide after awhile!

Good luck on your weight loss journey

ameRIAcansmooth · 05/11/2009 11:00

hey QandA, welcome. we're all at different stages of our journeys, so feel free to join.

feeling happy and motivated today, no guilt (have been reading some of the "inspirational" bits of the mag), new day and all that.

Had porridge for breakfast and will have my "fry up" for lunch today. mspag bol and salad for tea (and maybe a tiny piece of garlic bread). ?Tomorrow will be the big challenge as DS2s "girlfriend" is coming for tea and he wants "party food"

sounds like a good night connie!

tullytwo · 05/11/2009 12:41

I cant find those muller light lemon cheesecake yogurts anywhere-does anyone know where you can get them? Am dying to try thrm in the vain hope they help the sugar cravings!

Had 2nd gain this week (knew it was coming-half term and sister over visiting) since May so determined to be good til xmas-have so much more to go -will still be doing this this time next year!

ILoveStripeySocks · 05/11/2009 13:15

thik I will be here forever too tully lol I have LOADS to lose

QandA · 05/11/2009 13:22

Thanks for the welcome and to Ilovestripeysocks, for answering my questions on my thread.

Skimming through the thread, there has been some good weight loss using the slimming world diet.

I was planning on beans on a slice of toast for lunch, but realised we had the last beans last night, so had super noodles ( they are my DH's ) instead, I checked online and it said it was a free, have I got this right?

Am just about to tuck in to a muller light orange yogurt and strawberries, mmm!

Need to go shopping this afternoon to stock up on food, so will be a good start to get thinking about the week ahead.

ILoveStripeySocks · 05/11/2009 13:52

Only the 98% fat-free supernoodles are free! The others are between 3.5 - 7.5 syns, depending on the flavour.

YOu are best making a meal plan for teh week before you go shopping, then get what you need. I do this, and make some delicious recipes!

QandA · 05/11/2009 16:18

Was worried for a second then, so re checked the packet and SW online syn calculator. They were low fat chicken and herb flavour (suitable for vegie's!) so no points on the green plan that I am on and 5.5 on the other plan. Phew!

Have just made a delicious vegie spag bol, so looking forward to that!

I am going to do as you suggested Ilove and plan the meals for the week, especially as I want to cook DH and DS the same thing as myself, with just a few tweaks, as they eat meat. There is a lovely moussaka in the book that I am keen to try.

ILoveStripeySocks · 05/11/2009 16:46

I am making the lemon garlic chicken recipe that was on the free SW calander. It looks yummy!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 05/11/2009 17:16

Well I had a gain at weigh in Tues night but just a half. And I hadn't been for two weeks so was actually quite pleased.

Went training afterwards and did the beep test then circuits then played netball so hopefully that'll help!!

Went out last night and had flexible syns but doing well apart from that.

Well done on some great weight losses ladies (? I assume..).

AddictedtoCrunchies · 05/11/2009 17:16

Stripey I've put my calendar somewhere safe (not sure where). If that chicken is nice, could you post the recipe?
Thanks

ConnieComplaint · 05/11/2009 21:38

Not to self: Don't post when have indluged!
--------
Anyhow, new day - did fine today

Am just back from my spin class, sore and knackered. I'm not joking, 10 minutes into the bloody class & I felt like crying my eyes out, it was too tough tonight!

Had fruit for breakfast, baked spud, beans n cheese for lunch, omelette for dinner with onion, mushrooms & bacon.
Snacks, Walkers French Fries & 2 sweeties.

I think all the junk I ate last night hit the spot nicely!

QandA welcome

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 00:28

LOL connie.

failed miserably today despite a good start with breakfast and lunch. Had my anxiety counseling/MHN appt this afternoon, and that, tidying up and star week have left me feeling drained and exhausted. Tea was SW friendly (apart from the garlic bread) but the chocolate wasn't.

I am rubbish when I'm tired

ameRIAcansmooth · 06/11/2009 00:40

this is probably a rubbish question, and a bit desperate maybe, but does anyone take any vitamins/supplements? I am really struggling with energy levels, and TBH the food doesn't seem to make any difference (I am when I read success stories where they say they have far more energy)

sowhatis · 06/11/2009 07:56

as soon as i cut out bread i had far more energy. if i ever have bread, i feel lethargic for upto a day.

I dont take any vitamins, as im eating alot of fruit and veg etc on SW.

littleoldme · 06/11/2009 08:09

Ria - may I just point out that if you started well with breakfast and lunch, you have not failed miserably - surely you've just had a blip Sounds like a hell of a day, be a little gentle with yourself.
Re energy - I def have more on Sw than when 'normal' eating but the only thing that really boosts my energy is regular exercise. Oh and daylight simulating lightbulbs in the winter make a huge difference.

I did ok on my boozy might - I had 400 mls of wine and half a bag of crisps - could have been much worse.

Am meeting friends for curry tonight - will have no naan - am not drinking as driving anyway. Planning an ee day.

V amused by the two stripeys X

ILoveStripeySocks · 06/11/2009 12:58

Ria, coudl it be the time of year thats making you down/lethargic? Its hard to be motivated & full of life when outside is so dull & drab. I knwo I struggle with it myself. I seem to have slightly more energy on SW, but have developed massive bags under my eyes! whats that all about?

Struggling today, I have a massiev headache & chesty cough. Hvae had 2 100% days in a row, I am not going to blow it now!

well done LOM, I could never stop at half a bag of crisps id rather them than wine!

DragonMamiCooksPotatoes · 06/11/2009 17:10

I gained 0.5lbs last week thanks to a weekend at the in-laws where they celebrated my weight loss by feeding me stuff with cream & cheese in.

Does anyone know what this week's word is? I had to leave the meeting before we got to that bit.

littleoldme · 06/11/2009 18:03

password is cheese -

ConnieComplaint · 06/11/2009 19:22

Roast worked for me as a p/word there a few minutes ago. Have text my consultant to check p/word again.

Ria sweetie, you didn't fail, you had a blip! And I bet you had syns to cover it if you thought about it! So put it down as a learning experience and start over again

I had the nicest dinner tonight - mustard mash with veg & a huge steak.

ConnieComplaint · 06/11/2009 19:39

Yes the p/word is roast.

My ever friendly [spot the sarcasm] text me back with the one word 'roast' after my uber polite text.... sometimes she's such a miserable cow that I'm tempted to start up a group in opposition....and be nice to the people that make my money attned group!

ConnieComplaint · 06/11/2009 19:40

God how I wish there was an edit button! I meant my ever friendly consultant obviously....
