StrawberriesandCherries · 03/11/2009 20:32

sowhatis that is amazing! Truly inspirational, you must be slimmer of the week most weeks!! I have only been once and that was shared with another slimmer how much more would you like to lose?

ILoveStripeySocks · 03/11/2009 20:34

wow thats amazing sowhatis!! Thats brill. Do you have a breakdown of your weekly losses? id love to see it.

I only lost 1.5lbs am gutted! Thats quite crap for a first week

Off to make mushroom risotto to cheer myself up!

ConnieComplaint · 03/11/2009 21:34

ILSS - a loss is a loss!!!

You lost 1.5lb!! Think how you'd feel if you gained it!

I'll be happy with a half lb loss tomorrow night - even though I can't see it somehow!

ILoveStripeySocks · 03/11/2009 21:39

I thik I am just disappointed, as last time i did SW, I lost 5lbs in my first week!

ameRIAcansmooth · 03/11/2009 22:42

well done stripey - my first ever week at group I only lost half a pound or maintained (can't remember) stick with it, it'll show next week.

well done sowhat too

another good day here, cooked breakfast, left-over stirfry for lunch, tuna salad sandwich when the kids had pizza for tea. The steak and SW chips with loads of veg, (far too late as busy with baths and clean sheets - an afterthought - and getting the monsters to sleep) with DH. I even had a bath while the chips were in the oven to stop me eating crisps and driking wine!

I really hope I'm doing it right!!!

Littlevoice1 · 03/11/2009 22:43

Hi all,
Just wanted to say hi and that Im new to this diet.
Going to start it in the morning. Are there any of the books that anyone would recommend buying?

Also any words of wisdom/advice for a newbie.

Thanks in advance

ConnieComplaint · 03/11/2009 23:45

I have my WI tomorrow night.

I know I have gained as my black trousers I wear are a tad too tight on my butt.

I have had free foods most of today - and an hours spin class.....I hope the gain isn't too drastic & I can pull it back next wk

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 08:42

Littlevoice - do you have the SW books from your consultant? They are about all you need. Good luck!

RIA - you sound like you are doing well! Well doen you resisting wine & crisps

CC - Well doen for getting back on plan. Goos luck with your WI tonight!

I have a stinking cold, and I always want to eat more when I am like this A blimmin lemsip is half a syn! lol I have some soup defrosting, that id made last week. Will have that for lunch, as well as maybe a jacket potato (need stodge!)

Littlevoice1 · 04/11/2009 10:10

I dont have any of the books. I joined online as the nearest class to me is over an hours drive away.

Find it abit hard to grasp what with not attending meetings.

Did buy 1 book online"slimming world festive food and fun".

I've seen other books up for sale on ebay and of course on the slimming world site but thought Id find out which ones would be the best to buy.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 04/11/2009 11:49

I'd stayed the same at WI last night, very disappointed as I'd been good all week apart from one day where I'd been very naughty. Guess it was that one day that did it.

So back to been ultra good this week.

We had taster day last night and someone made a gorgeous pud. It was bright pink and like a really thick angel delight (but nicer). She said there was fromage frais, cottage cheese and raspberry jelly in it. Anyone got a recipe?

ameRIAcansmooth · 04/11/2009 11:51

bugger bugger bugger! Not a great start to the day (bad back, forgot I was taking a friends DS to school, flat tyre, plus DH is a stomp, though he seems OK now) meant I didn't get breakfast, and have just had white toast[

damn day 3!!!

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 13:05

SKSS are you up for a 100% week challenege? thats what I am doing, writing every single mouthfull down, and synning & weighing everything. I am determined to get a stone off my xmas! Ill have a look at soem of the websites I use for a recipe for you.

RIA - oh no Dont use it as an excuse to be bad all day though! YOu have eaten it, nothing you can do about it now, so just pick up & carry on so that you do minimal damage. I bet it wotn affect your weight loss. If you use it as an excuse (liek i would ) then you probably will do damage. So keep to plan for the rest of the day!

I have a baked potato in teh oven that smells devin, cant wait for lunch!

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 17:11

I have just made soem scotch eggs that are free on EE days, and they were so tasty! going to make more of these for sure.

littleoldme · 04/11/2009 18:02

Well I weiged my self on Mon. I've lost 5 ponds in two weeks -I'm dead pleased. That means on on target for a stone by christmas YAY

I'm going out with a notoriusly boozy mate tonight and I really don't want to over syn on the drinks - any advice.

Stipey - how was the risotto?

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 18:52

very tasty! thank you!

Keep to spirits such as gin or vodka, have diet mixers & you shoudl be ok. Keep away from nibbles & food!

sowhatis · 04/11/2009 19:59

Hi All!

Thanks for the congrats! I want to loose around another 2 to 3 stone, then we will see!!

its been 7 weeks of dieting, but 8 wks going to club (week one was initial WI)

someone asked for my losses every week, here they are:

loss/gain
0 wk1
-10.5 wk2
-1.5 wk3
-6 wk4
-2.5 wk5
-3.5 wk6
1.5gain wk7
-4.5 wk8

Stick with it everyone, it does work!!!

ConnieComplaint · 04/11/2009 20:10

I lose 0.5lb this week.

I know it isn't much, but it's fab for me, especially as I was convinced I had gained weight after the weekend I had.

Am going to do 100% week this week, have no plans to be eating out, or anything else, so should be OK.

Didn't stay for group so it would be good if anyone had the p/word

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 20:41

10.5 in week one! How??? I only lost 1.5 Thanks for posting your losses, I am always interested in how people are getting on.

Littlevoice - you could probably dow ith buying a food directory or the green/red plan book. They are the SW bibles! Everything else can mostly be found online.

CC - a loss is still a los! you went down, no tup, which can only be good. As for the password, what do you do to a chicken in the oven? lol

ConnieComplaint · 04/11/2009 21:42

The right and proper andwer to that is "Nothing, I just sniff the air because my beautiful husband does the cooking."

But I guess i'd baste it?

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 21:48

starts with an R.

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 21:50

or a flavour of Walkers crisps to munch

ILoveStripeySocks · 04/11/2009 21:50

ooops that sooo didnt work LOL

ameRIAcansmooth · 04/11/2009 22:21

thanks for PW.

dopey Ria has only just realised there is more than one stripey

sadly those wise words of this morning didn't reach me in time, but it's only today, and am so looking forward to get back on track tomorrow. A minor blip, that's all. Star week, so it's not totally down to my lack of will power.

well done on the loss connie.
