Oh wow, you are doing great!

I have loads to lose. We have decided to get married Oct 2010, so I have a year to be a slimmer slinkier bride! I have done SW before, and know it works brilliantly for me. I havent set an exact goal, but I just want to feel happy on my wedding day, and allow people to actually take photos of me for a chnage!

littleoldme · 01/11/2009 19:32

here is the mushie risotto recipe. There was loads for Dh the first time I made it so I reduced the rice and made it more SW friendly.
I changed it as below, everything else is as per the recipe.
100 mils of wine - about 4 syns
28 g parmesan - 5.5 syns
Frylight instead of olive oil
and 285 (ish) g of rice
Oh and no butter !

You could add more rice to bulk it out a bit but this was enough for Dh and I. I suppose it is a bit synful but it's good for a special tea.

littleoldme · 01/11/2009 19:33

That should have been" There was loads for DH and I " I promise he didn't eat it all himself !

ILoveStripeySocks · 01/11/2009 19:40

Thanks LOM! I am having that for tea tomorrow night now! Also goig to make cheese stuffed turkey burgers for lunch.

I bought Tesco own brand cheese curls today (crisps are my downfall ) and I have had 2 bags already! argh! Luckily they are only 3.5 syns a pack, so I have not over-synned yet.

What did everyone have for dinner today?

ILoveStripeySocks · 01/11/2009 19:41

Just realised i can use 28g of parmesan as my HEA, so that cuts the syns down in the risotto!

ConnieComplaint · 01/11/2009 20:10

My dinner was Chicken chop suey (5.5syns) with boiled rice.

Was lovely.

ILoveStripeySocks · 01/11/2009 20:50

Ohh I had that the other night! I only put a couple of syns for it lol, id better up it to 5.5 I dont think that takes me over for that day (I hope!). Are the syns for teh oil its cooked in? as the rest was all veg & chicken, so no syns there.

littleoldme · 01/11/2009 20:52

Stripey - I couldn't see Parmesan on the list for HEA so be wary. It's mega high fat which is probably why- either that or I didn't look properly.

Cheese stuffed turkey burgers. Do tell me more.

wangle99 · 01/11/2009 20:58

Hi Ladies

Am starting SW tomorrow, can I join you please???

Also hoping to start going to fitness classes at the local leisure centre as I lead such a sedentary life I struggle to lose weight.

Am going to read what you've all been up to for the last few weeks.

ILoveStripeySocks · 01/11/2009 21:25

LOM - parmesan islisted on the website as a hea on all plans 28g. The turkey burgers are made with turkey mince, bound with a little beaten egg, and made into patties. chop up a babybel light (as part of your HEA) and push into teh centre of the patty. Grill or fry in frylight. The cheese oozes out when you bite into them! I have them on a heb roll (57g whoelmeal) with salad.

Hi wangle! Hoep you get of to a great start!

ameRIAcansmooth · 02/11/2009 11:23

Morning all.

I am feeling re-inspired and ready to go. An doing EE today and have had grilled bacon and tomato and dry-fried mushrooms and egg for a late breakfast. I had a banana first thing as I was going to my dance class straight from the school run, but the teacher didn't turn up

no idea what's for tea, am shopping after school.

my SW "history" - I first started SW when DS2 was a baby, lost maybe a stone. Done it on and off since. Today am slightly heavier than I was when I did SW then, and almost 2 stone heavier than the day I came home from hospital with DS3 ( dratted BF). I had lost almosgt a stone and a half this time, but have put half back on again since my friends wedding

I am really hoping to lose a stone by christmas. I really want to break the next "number barrier"

littleoldme · 02/11/2009 12:23

Welcome wangle.

Thanks for that Stripey must have missed it. At least i need not feel so bad about having that wine with it ! Will try those burgers X

ILoveStripeySocks · 02/11/2009 14:49

afternoon girls! Have just updated my blog. Made a yummy syn-free soup last night, and had a lovely bowl of it for lunch, as well as a BLT. I love this diet ha ha! The soup was sweet potato & red onion, very tasty!

Have decided to do the trukey burgers for tea tonight, as we have had no electricity for most of today so couldnt cook at lunch time. We are in one of teh worst hit areas for flooding .

RIA - I am sure you can lose that stone for xmas! 2lb a week and you will have done it!

hope the rest of you are having a good day x

AddictedtoCrunchies · 02/11/2009 15:53

Great blog Stripeysocks. Which sausages do you use that are syn free? Is it the Morrisons ones or quorn (boak)?

ILoveStripeySocks · 02/11/2009 16:06

Morrisons! I cant stand quorn ones. We have a local butcher who makes syn-free sausages too though.

ameRIAcansmooth · 02/11/2009 22:16

for your flooding problems stripey

I am feeling proud of myself tonight. After my disappointment this morning (dance class) being incredibly pissed off with DH, taking the boys to McDs and Tesco on my own, and only just in the last hour got the boys to bed, shopping away and sat down for my tea (all of which on their own are enough to drive me to bread and butter etc), I've done a 100% perfect day (well, I had a mugshot as a snack mid-afternoon - is that OK on EE?)

have just had the biggest stir-fry ever and am stuffed. might even have a tiny packet of chocolate buttons!

wangle99 · 03/11/2009 07:15

I survived my first day on SW although as I'm not going to classes I am relying on a friend for information (although I have done the diet before) until she sends me her old SW diet book!!

I also did a class at our local leisure centre after reinstating my membership. Hmmm wonder how long I can keep the good work up for!!

Stripeysocks - could you tell me where your blog is??

Onto day2!

ILoveStripeySocks · 03/11/2009 08:44

RIA - mugshots are free on EE! as long as its one of the 1% fat ones. Well done on a 100% day!!

Wangle - here is my blog. How did you find day 1? good luck for day 2!

I have my weigh-in tonight. I dotn feel liek I have lost much, and I usually do in the first wek of teh plan Still hoping for at least a small loss though. Not sure what to have for lunch today!

ameRIAcansmooth · 03/11/2009 10:36

good luck stripey. thanks for the mugshot info. EE rreally does seem too good to be true. I have just had a huge cooked breakfast again. I know it's a bit of a cliche from slimming mags everywhere, but I am eating so much more than I was, I can't see me losing much. Am planned for today, so fingers crossed. Will try to get out for a walk tonight too, though it's raining just now (might give swimming a miss as I really need a new costume and I can't afford to replace it this week I cannot believe how much I spent as Tesco last night)

I had an absolute genius idea though! Have lightly grilled the whole pack of bacon this morning, will keep it in the fridge ready just to microwave/heat through in the pan in the morning, or ready to add to omelettes/pasta/whatever. Saves time and cuts down on the need to wash the grill pan

StrawberriesandCherries · 03/11/2009 10:42

Hi CC, I post on another site too and re the pancake thing I think at least I got a nice reply on this site, I think it was you or RIA? Will have to scroll down pages to find out!! Anyway I dont bother with the other site now as pretty unhelpful. This thread has so many great ideas.

Stripey i love your blog!!! And the photos you are posting are really helpful. Can you post the recipe for the synfree barbeque sauce please? Am going to try the skewers and lurrrrve barbeque sauce with everything

ameRIAcansmooth · 03/11/2009 11:02

glad S&C isn't narked at this thread there was a pancake recipe in the mag I was`reading the other night and they were 5.5 syns for 2! free is muc\h \better\

StrawberriesandCherries · 03/11/2009 11:14

LOL yes I know you can all breathe easily now

ILoveStripeySocks · 03/11/2009 11:47

Morning S&C, here is the BBQ sauce recipe

you will need
1 onion, peeled and roughly chopped
1 tsp mild chilli powder
227ml/8fl oz passata
3 tbsp artifical sweetner
4 tbsp balsamaic vinegar
1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
1/2 tsp mustard powder
salt and freshly ground blacke pepper

spray a pan with fry light and saute the onion and chilli powder over a low heat for 5 minutes until softened.

stir in the remaining ingrredients, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes untill thickened. check the seasoning before serving hot or cold.

syn free on both days ready in 20 minutes serves 4 and freezer friendly.

I didnt have mustard powder though, so just omitted it! YOu can use this as a dip or as a coating/sauce. It was really tasty!

Ria - good idea about keeping cooked bacon on hand. I totally agree about EE being too easy! But I have done it before and had good weight loss on it, so I knwo it works

tullytwo · 03/11/2009 14:07

Does anyone know what the syn value for the mullerlight limited edition lemon cheesecake yogurts is? Cant find them on the site?

Also whats the password this week-will miss WI tonight!

StrawberriesandCherries · 03/11/2009 14:07

Yum!! Thanks for that
