Well done Purly

Jammy- do you go to group at all? If you don't then it would be worth trying to make it along to one, purely to get the books & the intro talk so you kind of understand it. You could buy the books from ebay but they're usually more than going to a meeting would cost, especially as there will be offers coming up very soon to join for £5. (they come up every so often)

Yes - you can eat as much as you want of potatoes/pasta/veg/noodles/eggs etc... anything that is free Mullers are mostly free, apart from the ones with the layers in them, though they may not be highly synned either.

Exercise - yes, I do a bit of exercise, but if you read through the books, it doesn't mention that the plan will only work if you exercise, I have known lots of people who don't exercise but stick to the food plan & they lose weight.

Any tips I would give would be to try & have as much free food as possible! Use your healthy extras and use your syns, the plan is devised in that way (see, if I followed my own advice I'd be a size 10!)

Ria!! Re the navy suit.... doesn't sound like the 'you' I see on FB! Is it 'you'??? Can you jazz it up a wee bit? Maybe with a coloured scarf/bag/shoes???? Some bright beads?? I would have thought something more flowing would be you? Only from seeing your pix - I think you're very ethereal looking (If that's the correct word!) You remind me of my daughter, wavy hair, lovely face, will never age either!!

this is exactly what I had in mind for you!! Either the bottle green/purple or dark red. It's the gothic ruched puffball dress at £54.99

If you just bought the suit 'cos the assistant give ds a biccie then send DH/friend to take it back & head away yourself for an hour in the morning & get a dress!!

ConnieComplaint · 18/09/2009 20:13

You could get a wrap or a shrug for your arms if you wanted

RIAlityBites · 18/09/2009 21:49

connie, I'd LOVE a dress like that (but not for tomorrow).

My outfit is me but it isn't IYSWIM. It isn't nearly as bad as it sounds, in fact it is lovely, but it's maybe a bit "old". Anyway, it will do for tomorrow (chances are it'll be covered in toddler snot before I even get out of the car, poor DS3 is suffering), then I might lend it to Dsis, or sell it on ebay

RIAlityBites · 18/09/2009 21:53

TBH, I have lost "me" somewhere between always being overdressed and slobbing about in jeans/hideous clothes. I don't feel like buying clothes that would be "nice" though, not in this size (in case I get comfortable looking OK) Am I making any sense? Probably not, am tired.

DS1 is home, he had a great time

letsgostrawberrypicking · 18/09/2009 22:02

Well done PurlyQueen - was it your first week? If not then HOW ON EARTH did you lose that much?

Have just made my own Banana cake recipe if anyone is interested, will post it on the recipe thread. I think I have worked it out right and it's 2 syns per piece

PurlyQueen · 18/09/2009 22:12

It's the first week, so I'm hoping for a more modest weight loss next week.
I couldn't believe how the plan was going to work - but so far, so good!

letsgostrawberrypicking · 18/09/2009 22:29

I know what you mean - it seems too good to be true how much you can eat! Well done though and keep posting your losses it's really interesting to see how much people lose (though i am very nosey too )

MamaG · 19/09/2009 15:36

letsgo I'd love the banana cake recipe please

purlyq - I lost 5.5lbs in my first week, then 3lbs teh second: I was very pleased about that!

MamaG · 19/09/2009 15:38

Has anybody tried the Shape Fuller for Longer yogs? They are free and really nice. They are a lot thicker than muller lites. Currently £1 for 4 in Asda too

Dazmum · 19/09/2009 16:02

Banana cake recipe too please!! Hope the 2 syn pieces are big!

letsgostrawberrypicking · 19/09/2009 20:45

ok then here goes as i couldnt find the recipe thread.

2 eggs
2 bananas
100g SR wholewheat flour
4 large tablespoons of sweetener
20 sprays of fry light
Pinch of nutmeg

All i did was blend the whole lot together and put into a cake tin. Would of preferred a bread tin as it looks better but have misplaced mine!!

I cooked mine on Gas Mark 5 for about 30 mins, and it came out nice and moist, perfect with a cup of tea!!
As it is only the flour you have as a syn i think i worked it out correctly.

Hope you enjoy it

tammybear · 19/09/2009 21:43

Ooo may have to try that recipe out!!

What do most people have for breakfast? Before SW, I was never much of a brekkie person, so at the moment, I usually have Special K Sustain or scrambled eggs and toast. I'm not really a fruit person either, so was just wondering if anyone could give me some new inspiration please?

ConnieComplaint · 19/09/2009 21:47

I either have 2 weetabix with milk, fruit salad, boiled/scrambled/poached eggs with a toasted HEB roll, an omelette or some bacon with a toasted roll.

Eggy bread/french toast is nice too, made with your HE bread.

I usually tend to have free food such a fruit and yoghurt for breakfast so then I have my HEs for later in the day

That banana bread sounds delicious!

Ria - didn't realise the wedding was today!! Hope you're enjoying & am glad you approved of the dress, i think it's class

tammybear · 19/09/2009 23:45

Ooo eggy bread sounds nice, may have to try that.

Has anyone tried the ferrero rocher recipe? It's 10 ryvitas crushed, mixed with 4 level tbsps of nutella that was heated in the microwave for 20 seconds. Should make 20-30 servings, at 1 syn each. Each try I try and do it, it doesn't mix together properly and I'm running out of nutella! Lol.

RIAlityBites · 20/09/2009 09:50

morning all.

thanks Connie. My Mum approved of the outfit I wore (she told me not to put it on ebay as it's nice - but I fully intend to be doing so soon cos it's too big), so it must have been OK, and it was fine as there were all sorts of outfits and shapes and sizes. I put full slap on too (which I rarely do as my skin panics and gets all sweaty, but it didn't yesterday), that helped!

I ate too much (buffet and hog roast, though I didn't have pudding - the boys were gobsmacked, because even DH had chocolate gateau and he doesn't "do" puddings) and had a glass of champagne and 2 pints of lager, then - confession time - I had a pint of Guinness. Yum.

Night off tonight (and maybe tomorrow because I don't have time to do a food shop until then), but I'm coming back on the SW wagon. I weighed in this moring and I'm only 1lb heavier than I was last week

does anyone know how many syns there are in WW yogurts?

MamaG · 20/09/2009 10:06

tammybear I've tried those too (the fake ferrero rocher) and I t hink you need LOADS of nutella to get them to bind together! Nice thou

MamaG · 20/09/2009 10:07

Oh and sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I think the banana bread recipe will be more than 2 syns. IF you mash up and/or cook with fruit, it has syns. Its only in its raw, unmessed with state that its free

sorry

AuntieMaggie · 20/09/2009 10:14

Tammy - someone in our group made the fererro rocher a while ago - was ok, but bitty and very crumbly. I would say stuff it and just use my syns on a chunk of cho instead but then I'm lazy!

tammybear · 20/09/2009 10:17

Ahh, yeah I'll just get the real thing and have one for 3.5 syns instead then hehe. Thanks.

RIAlityBites · 20/09/2009 13:27

woohoo! just checked and I haven't gained 1lb, I've maintained.

my kids are driving me mad today...

ConnieComplaint · 20/09/2009 19:01

Glad the wedding was good!! Did ya take plenty of piccies?

I've been out for my dinner today Tried to be good, so when all around me were having raspberry ruffle cheesecake (OMG it looked DELISH!) I settled for a fruit salad with a scoop of ice-cream!!

Also, I drove so no alkeehol for me... might have a wee dram later though

ConnieComplaint · 20/09/2009 19:07

And well done on the maintain!!

It's my 'star' week so i'll either maintain or gain

nikkid21 · 20/09/2009 22:21

bad bad bad bad bad day

writing this in a drunken stupour to shame myself tomorrow.

had friend's over for sunday luch and us 2 women drank 3 bottles of rose between us. Also had a full roast lamb dinner and half a homemade lemon chessecake w lots of double cream.

am very bad dieter but had a fab time
Suspect it won't be so fun when getting kids up for school in the morning. Also booked house for october half term week in cornwall on idea that we all like pasties !

bad dieter - someone kik me tomorrow please

AuntieMaggie · 21/09/2009 12:25

LMAO Nikki!

At least you had fun - next time don't have wine in the house!

RIAlityBites · 21/09/2009 12:51

aww Nikkid. Don't be too hard on yourself, at least you enjoyed yourself (rather than it being a misery-binge IYSWIM, I am prone to those). The good times can go in a flash, the diet will always be there another day. Hope you don't feel too rough today, get a SW fry-up down you, and lots of tea.

I have been to Morrisons for my breakfast and have curry for tonight (should have been last night but I fell asleep putting the boys to bed), so I'll start tomrrow. I noticed lots of Morrisons offers were SW friendly atm. (quorn mince, muller lites etc)

Have put some piccies on FB connie.

another star week here too, so don't know how it will go.
