That is not a Lol face tammy! You need a kick start. Do you do mainly green days? Maybe switching to red or vice versa, or trying EE?

tammybear · 05/09/2009 20:36

I mainly do greens, so will try moving on to reds. Got a red day planned tomorrow actually. I haven't tried the extra easy one yet as that just confuses me as to how you can eat as much meat and veg as you want but still lose weight.

PuppyLoves · 05/09/2009 20:50

I know! I said to a lady at my WI that EE seems to good to be true.

Has anyone on here tried EE and lost weight?

PuppyLoves · 05/09/2009 20:51

Oh, password this week is STEAK btw

TitsalinaBumsquash · 06/09/2009 09:32

Hello everyone!

Sorry i have been absent for a while, i have been on holiday for 2 weeks, i have also been eating rubbish for 2 weeks and am now about 6lbs heavier (i guess) i had a lovely time but now my body is just screaming for healthy food, i can't handle another Burger or Cream Tea.

Back on plan as of yesterday lunchtme, i will go to WI on Tuesday since i have missed the 2.

I didn't realise hom much healthier i felt eating to the SW plan untill i stopped for 2 weeks, now i feel sluggish and spotty, tired and bloated.

The stock cubes have been free for abour 6 weeks now - our consultant announced it in group.

To be honest, I never really gelled with her... she's a bit 'clicky' if you know what I mean, she has her favourites & has long chats with them every week, asking what they've done differently etc & if she can help them,.... then there are others when she reads out their weight loss, maybe 1lb or so & asks them if they're happy, making out they shouldn't be!!! Anyway, this week I had a good celebratory week but a shit week food wise!! (hence the 3lb gain)and I text her on the morning of WI, saying I felt awful & didn't know if I would be back seeing as I had crashed so spectacularly! She never even replied!!!

I did go to group - then in front of everyone she said, "Connie, you've gained 3lb this week, how on earth did you do that??" I smiled & said I enoyed every mouthful!

Don't know why I just had that rant about the consultant, I just felt she could have been a tad more supportive.

I had a chinese take away last night for dinner, was beautiful! I haven't had very many syns this week so feel OK about it. Would have loved a vodka too, but I have toothache & the spirit makes it niggle.

Don't know what's for dinner later - it could be the pepper steak from the SW book or we may go out for dinner, not sure yet.

Am trying to get dh to go to the gym with me for an hour, but he's avoiding eye contact with me at present...

letsgostrawberrypicking · 06/09/2009 13:23

Thanks for that Dazmum - am going to give it a try it sounds delish!!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 06/09/2009 14:30

We have had loads of different consultants latley as our usual lady has been ill, there are some who are really nice but a couple who i have wieghed and gone becuase they are soooooooo patronising!

We (30 grown men and women) got lectures from on of the consultants on having treats on WI night (which a lot of us do) and howthat night belonged to us and no one else o we should grasp it and stick on plan to make us feel good about ourselves

im still not sure of my gain as my scales are a bit dodgey, i am sticking to plan 100% now so hopefully it wont be to disasterous come Tuesdays WI!

she sounds like a right silly cow connie, good for you! we got a last-minute invite to DMs for Sunday lunch today. Yummy!

and I resisted the lure of fried onions at the boot sale. Not quite to any plan though, and DH has to go back in to work for a bit tonight, so hopefully he is picking up a bottle of wine on his way home. Dutch courage for tomorrow!

oh, and I've buggered the outfit plan for the wedding by buying a new handbag that doesn't go with either pair of shoes!

AuntieMaggie · 06/09/2009 22:08

Hey all- back after a very fattening weekend in London!

I guess I should just not eat til weigh in on Thursday....

The "good" thing is I feel so rubbish it puts me off eating rubbish food. So bloated and even though I've been to the loo I'm sure I've not been as much as I should have (sorry for the TMI)

What a horrible sounding consultant lecturing you about your weigh in night treats! Although ours did have a bit of a go at us for not eating before coming to weigh in because someone fainted the other week cos they hadn't eaten. On the whole though she understands that we all have holidays and times when we are going to deviate and I think that's the best kind.

It did make me think though if I lived in London that I would be doing better on this. There were so many market stalls with interesting fruit and veg and fish and all the exotic stuff in chinatown made me weep. I've got to put up with Asda finest instead

RIAlityBites · 07/09/2009 14:47

pah. Been clothes shopping. Eaten 1 yum yum, 1 Tesco wholegrain mustard chicken pasta salad and 1 crusty roll.

Not having good day

littleoldme · 07/09/2009 17:35

Love the idea of a recipe thread - will check it out in sec.

Connie - your consulatnt sounds like a right old moose. Well done on the weight loss good going.

I did really well for three days last week. then I was Ill on Friday and Sat, it was my birthday AND our dishwasher blew up : not the best weekend. Back to it this week though !

tammybear · 07/09/2009 18:26

Bless you Connie. She'd get on my nerves!

I got back from WI. Have lost 3lbs over 3 weeks (have missed 2 WIs). Am changing tactic this week and hoping for the best. Just wanna lose 1/2lb this week and then I've finally hit my first stone loss

Am trying to think of any recipes I use to put up on the thread, but my mind's gone black! Trying the chicken curry and fish and chips recipes that are online this week. Hoping they'll be good, as I haven't had a curry in soooooo long! One of our neighbours was cooking one last night and it smelt yum!

fuzzypeach · 07/09/2009 22:17

Well, I bit the bullet and weighed in myself this morning - I have put another 3lbs on this week - meaning that the stone I lost in 4 weeks for the wedding on 18th July has ALL come back on!!!! Ooops

back on track today though, went to the gym this morning, and am aching like mad now. Bit though as despite not eating well, I have still been going to the gym at least 4 times a week (been a regular for over a year) but the last few times I have gone I have really felt the strain on my legs - reminds me of when I put 5 stone on whilst pregnant and my joints just ached all the time...I was hoping it would improve and I would break the pain barrier, but its got worse - do you think I need to give myself a break?! I dont want to, but then I dont want to make the pain worse!! I feel the aching in my bones still now

had the mushroom stroganoff from recipe book which came with new mag tonight for tea - it was really nice (altho as usual I substituted the fromage frais for half fat creme fraiche)

monkeypinkmonkey · 08/09/2009 08:02

Hello, off to my 1st ever slimming world meeting today so excitted/nervous so I will def be lurking around here for insperation. I reckon I've prob about stone to lose but we will see as I can't remeber last time a set foot on a scale!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 08/09/2009 11:59

I am actually deading WI tonight, i know its a gain im still guessing about 5-6lbs, i have never had a gian before since starting! I wont be having my usualy Tuesday treat, i promised myslef i would only treat myself on a Tuesday evening if i had a loss.

I guess thats what you get for going off pla for 2 weeks!
Back on plan now.

I have 2 huge Pumpkins in the kitchen from the garden, i might make soup!

nikkid21 · 08/09/2009 13:17

Fuzzy peach - what are you doing at the gym? Can you switch the treadmill for the cross trainer to give your joints a rest?

I go 5 days a week and when my joints start aching I switch my 5k on the treadmill for a spin class and go down a couple of weight levels in body pump. It only takes a couple of weeks for the muscles to heal and then I go back to routine.

I've had a lot less problems since I started taking glocosamine with cod liver oli every day.

Just had the tesco finest charsui pork with a whole packet of veg stirfry. Huge mound of food for only 3.5 syns. Was going to do a lamb stew tonight but the weather had turned out lovley so will probably have some ryvita with a tub of cottage cheese insted.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 08/09/2009 19:39

4lbs on thats what 2 weeks of Cream tea does to you, beware! I got some very disaproving looks from our consultant..... i will get it off again though, i promise!

OP posts:
ConnieComplaint · 08/09/2009 21:20

Good luck monkeypinkmonkey!! Hope your weigh in goes well

Tits - I gained 3lb in one week so you're doing rightly!

I'm just back from spin, my stomach muscles are screaming in pain, as she has decided she will just do 50mins spin & 10 mins tummy exercises.... grr!

Am running a bath.

Went to gym for an hour on Sunday, told DH that BIL offered to go with me... he wasn't long getting the joggers on, believe me! He's not jealous by nature but he dislikes me spending time with BIL

Dreading WI tomorrow night..... don't feel like I have lost any weight at all.

Does anyone know how many syns are in jacobs cream crackers? If I wasn't lazy I would look for my food directory but I can't find it!

grinningbee · 09/09/2009 10:15

Connie cream crackers are 1.5 syns on either plan.

Tits at your consultant for her attitude. I used to have a lovely lady, and if you'd been away and put weight on she'd just ask if you enoyed doing it!

Well, I don't know how I've done it, but I've lost 2lb this week, making 8.5 so far. I realised I've been eating the wrong bread - Allinsons Batch - so I will have to change to something with thinner slices.

I'm having a couple of friends round for dinner tomorrow. They're getting a SW friendly main course (I'll avoid the garlic bread I give them) and will be making a tiramisu for pud. I bet they won't even tell the main is diet food

GoldenSunset · 09/09/2009 20:41

Hi, can I join

I've been doing slimming world for three weeks now and have lost 11.5lbs. Had my best week this week and lost 4.5 lbs. My face was like this when I saw the scales.

My husband and I are both off work this week and on Saturday we had an Indian takeaway, I normally have chicken biryani but swapped it for vegetable biryani which I thought was even nicer and it was only 11.5 syns - I was very happy to discover that. Indian takeaways are our favourite takeaway and glad I can enjoy one every now and then.

I've found that since being on slimming world, I'm not a big meat eater. I do mostly green days and I've easily dropped most of the meat from diet. I hated meat as a child, always found it fatty and unable to chew it but I was told forced to eat it and I guess that has always stuck with me - I look back now and realise how I was still forcing myself to eat meat even though I'm far from being a child. We went to Nando's yesterday and for the first time in my life I had a salad in a restaurant and didn't even want the chicken dh had ordered for him and dd to share.

I've found SW very liberating in that sense. The only down side is DH, who is a BIG meat eater and cannot understand my new found joy. I think he's worried he may actually have to have a dinner with no meat - shock horror!

It's our wedding anniversary on Saturday and I'm sure all thoughts of red/green days will leave my head esp. after a few glasses of wine

Sorry for rambling so on my first post!

letsgostrawberrypicking · 09/09/2009 21:52

Hi GS - well done on your weight loss that is amazing in 3 weeks!!!

Had my weigh in tonight and lost a measely half a pound so am hoping my hard work will show next week as i haven't cheated once this week!! Still, thats 9.5lbs in a month so am pleased with that.

Hope everyone else is doing well

MamaG · 10/09/2009 10:05

3lbs off last night - yay! Was v pleased esp as I had 48 syns on Sat night

So thats 8.5lbs so far in two weeks. Was SOTW too

and the BIG news is that my consultant seems to have had a radical turnaround! You know I told you she was crap? Well she was so different this time, suggesting things, even having a bloody taste session in 3 weeks which we have NEVER had before! I'm wondering if she frequents the sparkly place

grinningbee · 10/09/2009 11:44

Dumb question here - what is the sparkly place I keep reading about?
