Does anyone have the password for this week please? Thanks!

PuppyLoves · 30/08/2009 15:37

I posted it the other day letsgo its badminton

AuntieMaggie · 30/08/2009 18:46

My consultant advises to try to eat fruit with the speed symbol in the book rather than those without as they can make you retain water. Not sure if that's true but I'm trying to have as much speed food rather than anything else this week.

So... chicken almost every night

MamaG you were right about the rivita - I asked my consultant.

PuppyLoves · 30/08/2009 19:04

Really quick question - What is a good sandwhich filler on a green day? I'm doing a Tesco online shop for when we are on leave so will be taking sandwhiches on days out. DD will have cheese or houmous, dh will have ham and pickle. But what can I put in my sandwhiches?

Any suggestions gratefully recieved!

Also what is a speed food?

BethAndHerBrood · 30/08/2009 19:46

A speed food is something that fills you up really well with relatively few calories.

Puppyloves - Have you done your shop now? A slice of ham is 1 syn on a green day, cheese from your HEA's, salad with beetroot for moistness, just salad with extra tomato and balsamic vinegar, these are all good s/w fillers on a green day. Or you could make a pasta salad, or a frittata, or make hummous and have veggie dips.

Don't know whether that's any help. I know the theory, but am sat here a little tipsy, having had a carvery lunch, followed by coffee and chocolate muffin.

BethAndHerBrood · 30/08/2009 19:47

Plus, of course, I've drunk a bottle of wine.

30 syns gone. Whoooosh.......

PuppyLoves · 30/08/2009 19:49

Sounds like you had a lovely day beth

I've done the shop and added ham and some salad and I've got beetroot in the cupboard so I can do most of your suggestions - they sound great, thanks

A pasta salad sounds good as well but I've never made one before.

BethAndHerBrood · 30/08/2009 20:03

Well, I'm no chef, but when I make pasta salad this is what I do.

Cook pasta, drain, leave to go cold. (run under cold tap if needs be!)

Chop cucumber, tomato, spring onion, pepper, mushrooms, whatever you've got.
Open tin of peas.
Open tin of sweetcorn.

Add to pasta. Mix.

Stir in a big dollop of EL mayo, or some dressing of choice and mix like billyhoe.

Scoff it all in one sitting. Feel like a pig. But satisfied.

BethAndHerBrood · 30/08/2009 20:26

Oh God.

DH just made me a vodka and coke.

Tis lovely

AuntieMaggie · 31/08/2009 19:38

Argh - FFS someone steer me away from the alcohol!

I think it's everyone's mission to piss me off today. I don't know whether to get angry or cry. Why can't they just leave me alone???

To top it off I cooked 4 syn free sausages as they needed to be used by tomorrow so though I could have them in work. DP has just eaten them in a pre-dinner sandwich saying "well you just left them in the oven" yes they were cooling down you **.

So back to not knowing what I'm going to take to work tomorrow for food.

littleoldme · 31/08/2009 21:27

Hello all - I've been lurking for ages but thought it was about time I showed myself.

I've done SL before and lost nearly a stone. Now I'm 20 months post DS that stone seems to have returned and need shifting once again.

I've been on and off for a couple for a couple of weeks but am now resolved to get on with it !

LackaDAISYcal · 31/08/2009 22:33

hello littleoldme

I am not holding out hope for weighing in tomorrow. I have put back on everything I lost when I was ill the other week due to a hedonistic weekend of lard, wine and more lard and then some more wine just to make sure

LackaDAISYcal · 31/08/2009 22:36

actually is it just me, or does anyone else go into craving overdrive when they decide to diet? I found myself actually wanting to eat butter yesterday when making sarnies for lunch . I usually don't even bother with butter and just have a smear of mayo instead. It's like as soon as I know I am to be deprived, I crave things that I don't usually eat; like chips

I need a slap.

grinningbee · 01/09/2009 11:23

Hi Littleoldme

Lacksadaisycal - totally! The second I decide I'm not having something is when I really want it!

Haven't done bad at all this weekend. In fact, I managed to stay pretty much on plan, but went 11 syns over the 15 yesterday when we had wine with tea. Ooops. I'll be extra good today

Auntiemaggie - at your dh on your behalf! Fancy scoffing your lunch. Sadly mine has done a similar thing with cold sausages in the fridge. There was me thinking I'd have a nice sausage sarnie, and dh ate them when he got in from work.

Men!

BethAndHerBrood · 01/09/2009 13:06

I got weighed yesterday - stayed the same. Bit gutted, but not too surprised. It's the weekends that do it. Also, I had mainly red days last week, and they don't do it as well for me as green.

So, green day today. Chips, beans and couscous stuffed peppers for tea. Need something for my lunch, probably be eggs..

Off for a cuppa now.

ConnieComplaint · 01/09/2009 13:51

Hi all

This thread has moved on from I last posted & I see a lot of new names Welcome

I have falled off the wagon, BIG TIME!!! I last weighed in last Wednesday - stayed the same - but I have since given myself the week off.... and have been spectacularly awful...................... I mean, I have ate/drank/ate/drank constantly since last Wednesday night!!!!

To be fair, I have had 3 parties, a wedding meal and my baby started school, so it was always going to be a stressful week... I know I have gained about 3lb...

But I'm determined that after this weigh in that's me on the straight and narrow until December!!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2009 14:09

Had my self weigh in this morning and have put on 2lbs. I wasn't surprised by that though and am just thankful it wasn't more! I've still lost 4lbs in two weeks, so that's still a result! Onwards and upwards this week, or should that be onwards and downwards?

I am off to meal plan and then go shopping or the temptation to eat nuggets and chips with the DC is too great!

RIAlityBites · 01/09/2009 23:11

to daisy

hi all, welcome to new names I don't recognise. I'm home and thoroughly post-holiday-depressed. DH has done hardly any on the tidying he promised to do around the house, I have loads of laundry, it raines nearly all week, and I found a perfect dress for the wedding today- DH and the boys said they didn't like it so I didn't buy it, then when I decided I liked it and that was all that mattered, the bloody shop had shut, and it was in Ripon (if I don't find anything in the meantime, I will persuade DH to take me back next week when we visit his DD).

As I need to shop I am more than likely having tomorrow "off", haven't weighed in yet. I did stick religiously to RC for 2 days, but DM had done baking... I think I may give RC another 2 weeks (until the wedding and until I'm in a back-to-school routine) so I hope you'll let me stick around.

Connie/Maggie (I'm sorry, I can't remember which of you it is with the Dsis/SIL who is your gym instructor), or in fact anyone who has superior knowledge of exercise - I have discovered I have a massive problem with climbing over stiles (a big problem when walking is my hobby and main form of exercise). I think it is related to my sciatica, I don't know if it's just fear of doing damage or lack of strength, but despite having "Xenia Onatop" thighs I have really problems levering myself up with my legs (when I climb stairs I have to take one at a time, rather than a big stride IYSWIM) any advice on exercises to impropve this would be great. TIA.

McDreamy · 01/09/2009 23:16

Hello - can I join too? I am into my 3rd week of SW. I have lost 8.5lbs so far and yesterday I was Slimmer of the Week - yay!!!!!

I first went to my group back in March/April time when DD was around 6 weeks old - no prizes for guessing I didn't last long. It was far too soon post birth, I was putting immense pressure on myself while breastfeeding and getting very little sleep. Anyway DD is nearly 7 months now, sleeping through the night and I am no longer feeding her so this is about me getting back to.....well.....me!

Tonight we had lentil chilli for tea which was lovely!

RIAlityBites · 01/09/2009 23:35

re fried eggs- I do mine in a non-stick omelette pan with a couple of squirts of fry-lite and then put a lid on - the steam cooks the nasty puke inducing jelly bit on the top.

PuppyLoves · 02/09/2009 00:00

I think my obbession with fried eggs may be over - eggs bind and I am suffering

AuntieMaggie · 02/09/2009 13:43

oh puppy

make sure you eat plenty of fibre with them!

I'm lurking - not much to say...

Cryptonomicon · 02/09/2009 14:57

I have been doing really well until lunchtime today when I went to the pub with work and had chicken burger and chips. I just looked up the sins for chips, burger bun and mayonnaise and now I want to cry. Is it possible to do something stupid like that and still lose weight?

tammybear · 02/09/2009 16:40

I am 1 1/2 lbs away from losing my first stone!! SO I'm trying my best to be extra good this week. Missed this week's WI as it was bank holiday and didn't realise it was only the early WI was on, and not the later one which I go to. Got my week planned out.

Yesterday was an original day, so had Special K Sustain (HE a/b), chilli and potato wedges (HEb), and lamb steak with broccoli and swede/carrot mash.

Today (G) have had hash brown (made myself, was impressed haha) with bacon (HEb) and beans, and planning to have a roast with a slice of beef (syns) and lots of veg.

Tomorrow shall be pasta and jacket potato

DD goes back to school tomorrow, which shall be really weird, but I'll be able to go back to the gym a few times a week whilst waiting to go back to uni, which I'm looking forward to.

Cryptonomicon I've had days like that. We went away a while back and I was terrible and really fell off the wagon, but when we came home, I made sure I was very good, and I was able to maintain. So I think if you're good other than that pub lunch, you should be okay, fingers crossed.

tammybear · 02/09/2009 16:44

Oh and we've just made the muller light ice cream they suggested on the website. Cherry flavoured. Looking forward to it when it's done in a couple of hours
