Gave birth to dd2 4.5 months ago and since then I have lost 2st2lbs of the 3st I put on in pg. I would like to be slimmer than I was when I conceived though, so ideally have about 22lbs left to go.
It would really help me to have a pal or two to chivvy me along.
Any takers?

Dinny don't loose heart. Scales really p* me off too.
No matter who's scales I go on I weigh different. So have decided am going to use the scales in Boots as on them I weigh less than any of the others. I'm going to stick to them ones.

I still haven't weighed self didn't dare especially since in the past couple of days have had pizza curry and yesterday went to 60th party where there was lots of cakes an other scrummy things.

However I'm starting from today. I'm even going to cut back dramatically on cups of tea and coffee. Have noticed I feel groggy and lethargic if have more than 2ish in a day. I had a thing for herbal tea a while back and after a day or so could tell the difference in energy and thats just with tea. If I can gain back some energy that will really make a difference I hope. If I'm knackered I just can't be bothered and have no motivation for most things. So I'm gonna tackle the energy level thing first before attempt doing gym exercise and hopefully will loose weight at the same time.

Is there a day that you all weigh in and share if you've lost or gained?

Ulysees · 04/06/2005 11:30

Is anyone drinking more water? Have found this helps me to lose, flushes out toxins and stops water retention. I'm trying to drink more at the moment.

They weigh in on a Wednesday Muppet, but I was late

weesaidie · 04/06/2005 11:56

Water is great I know but I am finding it so hard to get myself to drink it. My willpower is so low at the moment... there is always an excuse... oh it has been a tough week... I am tired... I deserve a treat!

Must do better.

marjoriedawessassy · 04/06/2005 11:59

Dinny you baaaaad girl
Come on now, one bad day doesn't need to blow the diet. Here's a personal mantra for you to chant when tempted..I will be a skinny dinny, I will be a skinny dinny!
As for scales, use the same one every weigh in, cos they will fluctuate. I favour the stark naked, 1st thing in the morning, after a wee approach - I'm lighter then than at any other time of the day!

Top tip of the week..if you are hungry, drink a pint of water and wait 20mins. If you-re still hungry, have something to eat - it is genuine hunger, not thirst or boredom.
Just had a fry-up- bu**er. Best be good now!

dinny · 04/06/2005 14:28

thanks Marjorie et al... have just been for naughty lunch - well, half healthy half bad. will stick to my scales in future! Wednesday weigh-in will not be good for me. I am trying to get hold of a cheap copy of the Davina DVD....
it looks great but is sooooo pricey.

Screwballmuppet - agree about the coffee and tea, they make me so fuzzy and moody. and diet coke too...

chicagomum · 04/06/2005 15:23

I agree with the drinking water thing and the tea/coffee also apparently green tea is supposed to help burn fat no idea if its true, but giving it a try, out tonite for a traditional american bbq (help - will need to excercise real self-control) i've decided to start ordering kids portions at restaraunts out here as the portions are so huge. also the restaraunts all gear up for people onn the atkins diet as it so popular out here, but really not my thing

tiredemma · 04/06/2005 15:29

lost 1lb since tuesday!! very chuffed, long way to go but tackled the 10 flights of stairs into work this morning and "walked very fast" into town to get my lunch (20 min walk)

gosh it is hard though.

Today, I am mostly having quorn sausages

And trying to drink lots of boring water

Ulysees · 05/06/2005 12:43

Anyone heard that having 2 teaspoons of honey before bed burns fat? I read it and someone else mentioned it to me.

Ulysees · 05/06/2005 13:30

We've all eaten the quorn bramley sausages and they're gorgeous DS2(4) is the fussiest eater ever and he's made me put some more on to grill

woowoo · 05/06/2005 13:40

Hi everyone, you have all done really well. I have just come back off holiday and weighed this morning after scoffing an Indian take away last night. Now weigh 9st 7 and a bit. Not great, but at least I didn't put any on. I am now sitting here with a great big glass of water, and hoping to do better this week.

KBear · 05/06/2005 13:48

We had friends over last night and ordered a curry but to redeem myself I've just got back from two hours at the park, running around playing rounders, footie and hide and seek with DH and the cubs so hopefully if I am sensible today I will make up for it!

Yep, I am drinking more water and they do say this helps with water retention as the body doesn't store it so you lose weight. Glug glug girls!

ScrewballMuppet · 05/06/2005 13:53

I heard the apple cider vinegar is suppose to help you loose fat as it speeds up metabolism.

This was from holland and barret 2 tablespooons morning and before bed. I bought a bottle and felt a little silly.

Not sure if its true or its just someone else trying to cash in on people trying to loose weight.

has anyone else heard of it?

lunachic · 05/06/2005 13:56

can i join please ? finding hard to lose even half a stone -motivation comes and goes -and i find it hard to eat the right things (although my diet isnt too bad ) -i cook most nights for dd and ds (1 & 2),nibble a bit(must stop!)-then cook for dp (who always needs to put on weight -lucky bu**er) and then i eat too late
wish i was better organised so that teas ready before 6-cause one of my friends lost stones(after years of trying) and all she did was stop eating after 6pm-amazing she was size 18/20 and shes now a 12 !
I was size 10 b4 ds(2) and am now 14 (was 16) after dd(1) would be happy to be a 12 which means shedding about half a stone which doesnt sound a lot but i REALLY need a willpower boost!

sorry if ive gone on and on .......

KBear · 05/06/2005 13:59

lunachic - you are in the right place. Welcome. Weigh in day is Wednesday.

(great name BTW).

lunachic · 05/06/2005 14:15

great thanks- i havent any scales as i dont want to be a slave to them -but i need some a without any i dont get that buzz when you lose some weight (and obv.cant weigh myself without them !) -refuse to do it in boots !!

my friend has some bmi scales which are good.hes a gym bod and he was convinced my bmi would be high(obese the cheeky sod) it was NOT and he realised that im not actually that fat ive just got a jelly belly (yuk!) and a big ol'butt lol !

think exercise would really help theres a new gym opened not too far from here called gymnophobics women only for a 30 min work out-if theyve got a creche it would be ideal ... just need to get off my fat arse and get there !!

thanks for compliment(dont seem to get many/enough !) on name btw -i havent been on here for ages thought id better get a new nn -this came to my blank mind and i thought yes that suits me! thought it would be taken but everyone else must be far too sensible lol!

KBear · 05/06/2005 14:21

If you don't want to bother with scales, find a pair of trousers that are too tight and when they fit you you know it's working!!!

lunachic · 05/06/2005 14:30

would do if i could afford any new ones!!
had to buy some size 14 stuff spent too much and still dont have enough to wear but need to keep in mind that i will be a 12 soon and i can find some bargains in the sales !
gave all my size 10s away (to upsetting to look at) had some tiny 8s too and i just couldnt believe i was that thin (prob too thin) anyway ive got better boobies now so that makes me happy!!

applemummy · 05/06/2005 20:01

Well just back from four days in Germany with friends and have undone all the work I put in last week. Still had a good time and 12 hours in the car with 3ds's under 6 is enough to make anyone eat many many penguins! Going to have curry tonight (feel like we've earned it..) with dh and then back to trying to be good tomorrow. Body Pump tomorrow night if I can work up the energy. If I can not have put any pounds on by wednesday will be v v happy and shocked

Everyone else seems to be keeping up the good work so lets hope it's going to be a good week.

lunachic · 05/06/2005 20:14

having curry tonight too applemum ! chicken pasanda - its my first weigh on wednesday so its an ideal excuse-make the most of eating before diet really starts - excuses excuses - see you on wednesday !

ScrewballMuppet · 05/06/2005 20:28

I've ate lots of choc today and emmm yesterday to.
