Gave birth to dd2 4.5 months ago and since then I have lost 2st2lbs of the 3st I put on in pg. I would like to be slimmer than I was when I conceived though, so ideally have about 22lbs left to go.
It would really help me to have a pal or two to chivvy me along.
Any takers?

Ooo Toothache is it really only 8 and half stone, that sounds quite small - I just wish it looked it. I'm a bit wobbly really, maybe I need to tone up rather than lose weight. Used to be a size 8 pre DS now I'm a 10 - 12 and I don't like it. How come I'm the same weight but 2 sizes bigger?
Well done to all of you who weighed in so far.
Applemummy how is DS now? Feeling better I hope.

applemummy · 01/06/2005 12:36

DS is a bit better now thanks albert having his first daytime nap for about a year giving me time to do about the ninth load of washing today!

5lbs is fabulous mosschops! What's davina all about then? Well done to everybody so far. Maybe we could have a weekly total of how many pounds we've lost as a group? Could be interesting?

dinny · 01/06/2005 14:44

Mosschops, spill all, what did you do? Davina's video? How often - DETAILS DETAILS!!!!

dinny · 01/06/2005 14:45

just been to gym, btw. and a long walk there and back too. then a tuna s/wich on multigrain bread, then strawberries and herbal tea. have to cut down my diet coke and coffee intake - am sure it makes me more hungry or something.

Hellooo - well, I don't know how but I lost 4lbs. EEEK

chicagomum · 01/06/2005 17:37

Hi, noticed this thread has been going on a while but would like to join. I'm currently living in USA (originally from London) and need to shift left over baby weight (how long can you call it that before you have to admit that its chocolate/cake etc and not your ds's fault!)Over here you have the v.v.large people and the fabulously skinny (not alot inbetween) i've been trying to loss weight (have managed 2 pounds in 3 weeks!) and could do with some support as I don't really now anyone over here (only been here 4 weeks) and am in danger of succumbing to the bewildering array of "junk food" over here

KBear · 01/06/2005 17:57

Hi chicagomum - everyone is welcome here. My DS is 3.5 and I still call it my baby weight ha ha - well it was never there before I had kids!

Good luck!

chicagomum · 01/06/2005 18:06

What methods are you all using to lose weight? It probably says somewhere in the thread if I could be bothered to read it all. I've started swimming as the appartment we're living at has a pool, also a gym (but i'm to to use it - not sure what half the machines do). I've invested in an excercise ball to try and tone stomach etc 3.5 ds uses it more than me I keep rolling of the damn thing

dinny · 01/06/2005 18:36

Mosshcops, well done! So, no carbs after 5pm... strict, or just bread/pasta pots/rice?

Oh wait! I lost 2 lbs this week Hurray!

Ps - Please miss can I be excused from next weeks weigh in as I'll be on holiday, thank you.

Left it a bit late to enable the wearing of a bikini!!!

weesaidie · 01/06/2005 19:36

Hi guys

Have no scales (oops) and haven't been out today as knackered after v early start with dd! However I will be going out tomorrow and I will pop into Boots and weigh myself... sorry to be late!

Well done to you all!

sassy · 02/06/2005 08:12

Well done ladies!!
So far our losses are as follows...

sassy- 2lbs
kbear - 4lbs
tiffini - 1lb
mosschops30 - an amazing 5lbs
applemummy - 3lbs
dinny - maintained (but late joiner)
furball -2lbs

That's 17lbs so far with some still to check in! A great start!
Our star slimmer is Mosschops - you have won a virtual pack of bath salts; scent = old-lady, expiry date Aug 2001! (Group applauds loudly.)
(Am secretly v jealous of Mosschops, you had ds the day after I had dd2 and you are already under 9st - a weight I can only dream of !!)

Would love to join this thread I have a stone to loose. I'm not fat but am petite so it is noticeable. My upper arms look like wings and there i was pre children thinking women were barmy when they talked of gaining fat around there upper arms. That certainly has come and bit me on the hiney
Will weigh myself today eeekk!!!

Well done everyone! I weighed myself yesterday (12st 4) and will re-start the healthier eating from today.

weesaidie · 02/06/2005 12:46

Hey guys, sorry am late...

Have lost 3Ibs... woo hoo!

KBear · 02/06/2005 20:00

We got off to a good start didn't we!!!

I'm going to do more exercise from next week (DH on nights this week so can't do evening swims etc). And I'm going to stick DS in the pram and power walk everywhere next week too. My friend is trying to do more exercise and she is walking to ASDA everyday (about four miles) to buy her dinner instead of doing a weekly shop!!!

tiredemma · 02/06/2005 20:23

im being very good, have not weighed myself yet though.
PLEASE PLEASE someone convince me that chocolate WILL make me fat, im seriously craving it.

on a plus note though, i work on the 10th floor of a building and have started walking UP the stairs to work as opposed to getting the lift. Seriously thought i was going to die when i got to the top.

mantra- "i will get a body like kylie's"

chicagomum · 02/06/2005 20:28

Totally fed up today, I've tried to rope DH into dieting with me as tbh he could do with losing a few pounds, he agreed so last night I spent ages making a low caloris/fat etc meal (which I thought was pretty damn good) he ate it all said it was great but he was still hungry, so microwaved a bag of popcorn!!! then proceeded to sit next to me on the sofa and scoff the lot, so much for support

weesaidie · 02/06/2005 20:54

Oh Chicagomum, that is a pain! I am on my own so no worries there but then cooking for one is such a bu$$er! End up just having toast half the time!

Ulysees · 02/06/2005 21:01

Hi, I've lost 1lb this week just by cutting back and trying to think 'do I really want that?'.

dinny · 03/06/2005 19:09

soooo pissed off, I weighed myself on a friend's scales yesterday, feeling quite slim and was FOUR POUNDS HEAVIER than on mine. gggggrrrr, now feel like a big fat heifer again and completely like throwing in the towel! in fact, have had a chocolate ice cream, huge cappucino and wafer thing at park this pm and dh has a bottle of white wine at the ready for tonight. please someone motivate me! Marjorie, I need you!
